Seen a whisper on Twitter that we've offered Junior Hoilett a contract. Reading have offered him an extension but he's yet to sign it. Sounds a proper Warnock signing - played for him at QPR and Cardiff I think. Would prefer to spend some money on Hungbo and see how Warnock can develop him. a years contract , to cover Koroma maybe? |

Hoilett can also play as a wing back or even at rb so could bring depth in multiple positions, could prove to be a decent pick up seen as he’s been successful under Warnock before. |

If we could bring back an ex player I would love to see Mounie back at town. Captain at Brest and scores goals. Would probably be a tad expensive but with better creativity around him I think he would flourish under Warnock. 100%. Sounds a proper Warnock signing - played for him at QPR and Cardiff I think. It would be like signing Jason Puncheon. I don't think it would. Puncheon was someone brought in after our chairman had just said we wouldn't sleepwalk towards relegation. When we needed someone to give us an injection of something special, he was someone that was obviously miles off the pace. Can't say as I'd be thrilled with a 33 year old winger (he turns 33 tomorrow) unless it was someone who had really done the business higher up, but was no longer up to PL standard. Hoilett ain't that. Given that our only recognised wingers with first team experience are Sorba Thomas (likely to leave), Pat Jones (injury prone kid that needs easing in gently), Aaron Rowe (couldn't get on Stockport County's bench) and Connor Mahoney (shite), he would at least strengthen us vs what we have now. Squad player at best though. Underwhelming, but not Puncheon level underwhelming. |

I think Hogg will slowly be replaced by kasumu next season I suspect Hogg will be used in games where we expect a battle, whereas Kasumu will be used in the more open games where his pace and athleticism will be more of an asset. Effectively "release the bastard" whenever we're up against the most physical sides. |

I see Hoggy's role evolving into more of a "Dean Whitehead" type. Leadership still very valuable even as his legs can't go 100% for 48 games a season.
I still expect him to be 1st choice at the start of the season if only for the leadership he brings. We have other defensive midfielders but none with his leadership skills. That's the bit I think we most need to replace in midfield.
