Played alongside Sorba for Wales, too.
Although there would still have to be some adjustment made, as Sorba would probably not be playing left back for us.

Crooks may be a sensible signing, but that’s all it is, we need whoever is in charge to make a statement with their first signing, a sign of a new era. I don't see why the "statement signing" needs to be the first one. The "statement signings" tend to be the best players - i.e. the ones with the most options - so they tend to negotiate right up until the last minute, rather than the ones who are just looking for a club. If the first signing we make is a promising wing back from the 4th tier, so be it. I do agree that the new era would benefit from at least one marquee signing though.

I think Sorba will play down that right hand side where he did under Carlos at the start of 21/22 but with more of an attacking role with Pearson behind him

If Pearson is starting the season at right back then we’ve made a right cock up.

Knibbs of Cambridge linked with us
Lazy journalism.
He was on our list before the takeover, they are just putting 2 and 2 together

Junior Stanislas is available on a free. A risk given his injury record but sounds like a great person to have at your club vm.tiktok.com/ZGJxCSBYb/

I think we will most likely pay the price for Hungbo and he will be one of the players already lined up.

I didn't know about this link to Knibbs. I didn't know about a previous link to Knibbs. I am grateful for the warning about potential journalistic laziness. I can now make my own mind up about whether to get excited or not. Surely this is what this thread is about.

Bordeaux came up a little short of promotion. Josh Maja had 16g/6a and was in the team of the season for ligue 2. Apparently took a 50% reduction in pay after their relegation (no clue what it was) and now is available on a free. Been up and down his whole career. Maybe one Warnock could get/keep him firing.

If we could bring back an ex player I would love to see Mounie back at town. Captain at Brest and scores goals. Would probably be a tad expensive but with better creativity around him I think he would flourish under Warnock.

It still haunts me that after watching what he can do when you hang the ball in front of him to attack… we then decide it’s better to ping it at his head from the 18 yard line, with his back to goal. You take almost any era at town and they’d have killed for a Centre forward like Mounie. He would have smashed Championship defences if we had progressed to the byline.

Seen a whisper on Twitter that we've offered Junior Hoilett a contract. Reading have offered him an extension but he's yet to sign it.
Sounds a proper Warnock signing - played for him at QPR and Cardiff I think.

Isn’t he like 32 going 33?if it’s as a squad player on a years deal behind Koroma and sorba I can just about accept it.other than that I’m not too enthralled with it to say the least

He still comes to visit the area too, think it was only last summer I saw him outside Marstons.

I don’t care if he previously played for Brian Clough, Alex Ferguson or Pep Guardiola.

Imagine Keiffer Moore and Big Steve up front with an on-form and interested Sorba and Koroma suppling the ammunition. Champions 2023/4
