I'm amazed by the amounts Coventry and Ipswich seem to be chucking around, I know Cov have just taken a large fee but it's never helped us! Doesn't look like any of the play off teams are selling their best players and shopping in L1 and 2, no surprises there really, wouldn't want to "do a Huddersfield". Don't know why have a feeling coventry won't do as well this season |

Middlesbrough have signed a couple of Aussies, Silvera and Glover. Glover is a good keeper who was moving into 2nd position behind Mat Ryan for the Australian football team.
If we are smart, we’ll be all over the bloke who is overtaking Glover, guy called Joe Gauci. Think he’s the next real deal keeper to come out of Australia, would be a great replacement for Nichols, would be good business to sell Nichols next off season and replace him with Gauci.
He’s a tall, mobile 22yo keeper, still only has 40 or so top team performances, but that imo is good for a young keeper. Will only get better for more game time next year in the A-League. I hope/recommend the club scouts him and builds a relationship with him for next year. I really think the kid has what it takes to keep in the Premier League.

Bristol agreed a fee with Derby for Jason Knight. Apparently ~£2m if the press are to be believed.
Excellent price for a very good player in my eyes.

I guess it depends on whether you want the best… an option would be to loan Bilo back to them (Adelaide United) as part of the deal, continue Bilo’s development until we sell Gauci off to the PL. From what I’ve seen Gauci is the real deal. |

Yet we sold our 2 main assets for a combined 10m. We are too sentimental at times. LOB alone in the market last season was at least 10m himself. But no one offered us £10m. we probably didnt bother asking for more ?  |

Problem is you cant keep players that in the end don't want to be here. Lewis signed a contract until 2025. Who's fault is that? His. If the club don't get the price they are worth then it is tough. A player is happy to sign a long term deal for the money. So a club should be able to wait until an offer that is worth it comes along. Regardless of our situation 12 months ago. 10m for the pair of them was a piss take and the club had mug written all over them. That's 1 opinion. should we take into account the financial state of the club at the time and threatened administration? |
