What a tinpot pre season. Pointless games against pub teams and absolutely zero activity in the transfer market. We make Rotherham look like Man City. Amateurish at the moment. For clarity, I have played no role in our preseason preparation. |

Blackburn in turmoil apparently. 20% reduction in budget and the Venky’s have instructed that they can’t make any new signings. Venkys love to gamble. Everyone congratulates you on your bravery when you gamble and win, but they condemn you for your foolishness when you lose. They showed ambition last season in keeping Brereton-Diaz and just lost him for nowt. Financially they are apparently in trouble. For all that they were promotion chasers last season I wouldn't be at all surprised if they drop like a stone this season. |

Some people slag off Town when we sell off our best assets, but Blackburn's case is a clear example of why we have to maximise our sales when players are at their peak, and why it is criminal to lose any saleable assets for nothing. Biggest example is Man Utd not flogging De Gea to Real Madrid or PSG when they could have, and instead now letting him go for nothing. |

Just looked him up to see where he's gone (Villarreal). 53 league appearances for Forest, 8 goals, only 9 goals in his first 80 league games at Rovers and then 36 in 80 in his last two seasons. We'd have written him off as a dud long before he started to come good. |

Since 'lack of ambition' was one of his reasons last time, I don't think you are far off. However, maybe he has a different perspective on how clubs are actually run now. |

Millwall holding out for £13 million for Flemming. Would be a nice return on a player they paid £1.7mil for last summer.
Hope the club are watching - this is the kind of business we need to be doing!

I know Blackburn are desperate for cash but expecting £5m for Gallagher! Surely never going to happen. If they hadn't just sold Gyokeres for silly money I expect the fee would be much lower. They'd be daft to pay that though. |

That will take some replacing tbf. |

We nearly went down like a lead balloon after selling and selling once again. It is so easy to be a lead balloon if you spend or you don't. Managed recruitment is just so hard and needs someone with the incite of a Clough or Ferguson together with an owner of funds to back them. The best we have had is the vision of our German manager that did not last in the furnace of the Premier League. We will probably have to rely on luck if we can identify our targets, something that we appear to be failing to do at the moment. |
