Apologies if I've missed this point being raised elsewhere. Can anyone begin to explain the difference in these fines (half of the Forest fine is suspended). When a player is injured to such an extent a man is jailed for the offence, surely that incident is more severe.... ......What am I missing? Forest FineTown fine

The main difference is Forest are a big club and we arnt a big club. Actually you have got me thinking. The EFL stated earlier this season that any fans invading the pitch at play offs (either in celebration or for retribution) would be banned going forward. Bearing mind the "incident" at Leeds at the weekend, although I appreciate this was the PL, this threat needs to be carried through. Be interesting to see if the EFL keep to there promise when hords of fans invade pitches over the next week or so, its going to happen!

I presume the National League is exempt or Wrexham would have next to no fans able to attend next season.

Shame all the Luton fans who are now invading the pitch will be banned for next season but they knew they would be banned for invading the pitch so they will just have to take their punishment!

I’m sure they will get at least £70k plus inflation just like us - oh wait, they are the new southern media darlings after their ‘heartbreak’ at Huddersfield, so will get a big pat on the back for their fans’ exemplary behaviour when invading the pitch. Jon Moss will give the character reference.

All jokes aside, does anyone actually have a normal answer because it’s like dishing out a £70 fine to someone who parked on yellows but would have been reduced to £50 if you gave the parking officer an uppercut.

Don’t think there is a normal answer. This is the football authorities we’re talking about. They’re about as logical and intelligent as the people who run the country. The poster above you is as normal and as good an answer you’ll get I reckon.

You'd think though that the club at least would have the gumption to try and find out what exactly the discrepancy is all about. And if they do, just for a change, could they possibly let the fans know the reason instead of keeping schtum?
On a side note, one wonders just how much it'll cost Luton to get that dump ready for the premier league, if they actually get over the final fence.

On a stadium they'll only play at for another few years tops as they're building a new one www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-65249178

Going off tangent here and onto the ground, I don't see how it's apparently only £10m to get the place ready for Premier League football. It cost us £8m or something and thats 6 years ago, in a relatively new stadium, with infinitely better access and space than Kenilworth Road.
I think the work at ours involved upgrading the floodlights (same reason chest now have some comedy floodlights outside their ground peering over), enlarging the dugouts, building a bigger TV gantry, putting in permanent TV camara points, building a TV studio and massively upgrading the internet connectivity for all the TV trucks. All of these would look problematic at Kenilworth Road. Where are they even putting the 4 or 5 TV trucks that we used to have at the back of the North Stand!

Maybe we'll see even greater VAR injustices at Wembley than last season just to make sure they don't get there. Especially if they're up against Michael Carrick's Middlesbrough

I'm just reading (well, listening) to Simon Jordans book "Be careful what you wish for" and his spats with the FA are interesting to say the least. No logic whatsoever with that lot

Goading the Sunderland fans and one of their fans hit Amad Diallo. Where’s Nathan Jones when you need him? Hopefully they get a hefty fine.

Ignored... Dire warnings from Tog before our last 2 home games, fines or worse, whats the 'worse' As Sunderland lost would they be dealt with differently had their support invaded the pitch?? There has to be an end to this..?

Luton CEO was on Talksport this morning saying it was impossible to stop people entering the pitch and also said it was a good natured celebration. Just ban everybody who went on the pitch, that’s what the EFL said they would do.

Wasn't it closer to £1m - mainly on the new TV gantry in the Kilner, updates to floodlights, and some refurbishment of media rooms? (and we got a new blue carpet round the pitch) TV OB trucks not needed any more as PL grounds have requirement for private leased line connectivity capable of carrying all the TV to the broadcast hub and Stockley Park for VAR.

Rather than a dig at the club, this lies solely with the FA. It’s the FA that should be confirming the discrepancy.
