They are beautiful, and if it interested me enough, I think I'd at least make an offer on one of them, probably the Scottish one, as my wife is Scottish, well from Essex, but with the name MacArthur. ( They were one of those that emigrated, but came back in the depression, not to Scotland, but Essex). I guess, Ebay will reach a lot more people than an auction, even if mentioned on DATM. What puts me off them, is that there's no mention of a connection to HTFC on the medal. I didn't check long enough to see if there was any paperwork with them, confirming such. I'd still say, more than doubling the price, is a bit over the top. Perhaps not, but you do know the provenance. I completely agree, and that's what interests me, the connection to Town. I have to sit on my hands for a while, an old chess expression, because impulse buys can lead to regrets, as can not buying one. It's not the money, I buy books from Suntup editions, some also into four figures, it's the double money. Nothing wrong with it, it's clearly a business, and I have nothing against anyone making a profit, on most stuff anyway. It's the amount of profit in this case, even taking into account auction fees.

UPDATE: Neither medal sold and both have been re-listed - at the same price. Yes I saw that. I made an offer of £600, cheeky or not it still gave a profit, and it was eminently clear they were not going to sell at the listed price. He seems to either optimistically think things will change, or he's in no hurry. (or she, i'm not listing all the rest.) I didn't get a response, either positive or rude, he just let the offer run out. PS. I made it on the Ireland one in the end, as it looks in slightly better condition, well the hold link does and the writing on the reverse is clearer. I would still consider it the least wanted, if one could only buy one, matches against Scotland being "supposedly" more significant.
