Pawel Abbott’s 26 league goals only secured us 9th place in 04/05. Totally forgotten about Pawel Abbott - great striker. There you go... it only seems to be when the leading striker gets a hat-full of goals in a season... AND that team gets promoted (in Stewart's case - should have done before it all fell apart) that they seem to be remembered fondly. Fucking loved Pawel

Then re arranged for day of my birthday, so not a bad birthday

Kian "the poacher" harratt may get more of a prominent role this season... probably needs a figure like warnock and jeppo to knuckle down and become what he has always had the potential to be.

Everyone stopped because they thought he was offside, but turned out the header to him was from a Lincoln player. Imps weren't happy Edit: wasn't there also one where he was thought to be offside but had started his run in our half? Or was that a different player?

Can't see the sense in that one, myself. If we're going to develop a kid then we have Harratt, Hudlin, Phillips & Simpson still on the books. Fair enough if he'd just smashed it in Lg2 but 1 goal every 7 games at that level doesn't strike me as somebody ready to be the main striker at a 2nd tier club. Hudlin and Phillips won’t make it here. Hudlin definitely won't. Phillips needs a chance, far better technically than Harratt. Wouldn't of been at Everton if he was rubbish. Harratt will end up in league 2 at best and Phillips will probably be a top half team league 1 player. Simpson probably a league 1 player too. Hudlin Vanarama Conference.

So what forwards are available on frees and loans then. I resume warnock is wanting abit if a target man
Keinan Davis would be my pick but I bet he's on a fortune

He is still young though so maybe when he fills out more still. But technically his touch etc isn't that above a league 2 player. A good poacher but anything above league 2 requires more to your game.. Love for the young lads to prove me wrong but town won't be using any of these lads in the future as a starting striker.

Hudlin is so far off being anywhere near a championship player. I don't understand why I keep seeing fans on twitter or Facebook saying to give him a go in the first team. Currently he is non league level, with serious improvement required.
I don't mean to offend anyone by my strong opinion on a young town player not being anywhere near good enough.

I suspect he's only in the picture at all, because of the thought he could be thrown on for 5/10 mins at the end of a game, like a Hail Mary, now you can have so many subs. PS - I ain't seen him play.

PS - I ain't seen him play. He’s not that great in the air but his touch on the ground isn’t bad. He’s not that physical a player. I’ve seen him play twice as a starter and once as a sub. Against Sutton last season he didn’t touch the ball until 35 minutes in, then suddenly laid off a couple of great passes with his feet. He missed a good headed chance in the second half.

Did you watch Harry Kane play in the lower leagues? Harratt is a natural finisher. And he has actually bulked out a lot since the end of the season. Why are people so eager to knock any of the young lads?
