Presumably he took some advice from DH and the rest of 'the previous regime', otherwise he would have been guessing. I would suspect KN has set the budget close to what DH was going to do, with (hopefully 🤞) some room to spend on transfer fees built in as well. ...& with an expectation of having to run a League 1 club with League 1 revenues and expenditure? Dont think you even have to submit such a plan in Division 3

Could be a case of Nagle having to operate on the budget set by the previous regime this season which highlights how important keeping Warmock was, and he's also actively seeking out new investment for next season and the years to come. As you say it would be good if we had more knowledge on the subject it could be they're keeping quiet until the transfer window is closed and they'll be more informative after. Nagle set the budget, its got nowt to do with "the previous regime". I said 'previous owner' because if you mention Hoyles name on here it gets some people defensive and hostile. It wasn't even a dig at the 'previous owner'.

I think that the telling point from Mr Chicken is:- Alongside this, the club must provide evidence that the business plan can be fulfilled – essentially, proof that the owner can keep providing funds if need be. This includes any evidence of ‘historic owner injections’ – which naturally, does not apply to a brand new owner. That means that the EFL are especially stringent with clubs following takeovers, which is why you may have heard us or Nagle talking about clubs having a closer eye kept on them in year one. After that point the owners can more easily point at the pile of cash they’ve dropped onto the club over the previous 12 months and say ‘see, I’m good for it’. So it may be down to what the new owner can or wants to disclose to the footballing authorities.

Makes sense, especially with the relative rapidity that those disclosures would have had to have been made, along with the complexity of being non-UK 👌

Some of the comments aimed at Kev Nagle on twitter after the game on Saturday are nothing short of disgusting. We have some absolute fucking weapons amongst our fan base.

We certainly do, but people being pissed off is understandable. New owner yet no signs of improvement overall. Who expected the status quo this season or worse?

Let’s face it the time it took for the deal to be done hadn’t helped us. We were behind all other clubs and then even later we announced the arrival of Cartwright.
KNs Twitter antics are the reason feelings are running high. I think it’s just a storm in a teacup and bad wording on his part. Ultimately it wasn’t acceptable the errors made in that game

I really hope Colin doesn't leave over it and I hope their relationship can be mended, if it is indeed broken/damaged at all.

I dont think it was a dig at Warnock/the players in a "fucking hell this is unacceptable you useless fucks" type British way, but more of a bullshitty American "this result is unacceptable, you a guys can do much better than this and I believe in you LETS GO TEAM" type message. We share a language but a lot can get lost in translation as we're already seeing, and I think thats what's happened here. Still probably naïve though as 1) He knows not everything he's saying is translating well, hes's aluded to this in the docs and 2) It's given Warnock prime opportunity to stick the boot in regardless of how it was meant.

Yeah, that's what I meant in my post mate. And I can't believe it myself, hasn't he read the book he brandished in the doc?

But when it interferes with Colin's management or causes rifts or misunderstandings then I think he needs to take a step back.

Communiicate on Twitter before taking over kept us in the loop so will go along with. After the take over then I would say no, certainly not in the way he did. Criticising your workforce in public, either indirectly or directly has disaster written all over it.

I think he's eager and wants to be seen to be committed even though he's ten thousand miles away. But he'd be better off leaving Jake Edwards to be more of the front of house presence, he's presumably living here and will therefore be in a better place to gauge what to say.

He can’t possibly throw enough money at us to keep everyone happy as DH proved. Add to the mix you’re dealing with the general public with an average iq of under 100 then there’s not a chance of it ending well

Clear message from NW in last 24 hours to KN, criticise me or the team & I will reply openly back, a rookie manager needing the job & the money would keep quiet......Warnock does not want leave Town in the shit which is exactly where we will be if he walks so Kev needs to hush up.

Maybe it's a crazy idea, but when Nagle had the chance to buy Town there was a good chance, really more likely than not, we would be relegated. He must have assumed he would be buying a L1 club so could it be that he was planning that? Working a budget and plan around building a L1 club up to Championship level and making plans for that?

Whilst I agree that personal attacks on Twitter towards Kevin are completely unnecessary, he should have been advised to not be on that platform…. He needs to stop comparing us to Sac Republic (punching above weight etc) we are nothing like sac republic I wonder how we would compare commercially to teams in the MLS not that it’s remotely relevant.
He needs to stop making American phrased references in relation to last season. A little knowledge is a dangerous tool!
We are still a top 30 club when you factor in History & Fanbase… we have spent more of the last 20 years below that line than above it so we have underachieved and the years in which we overachieved should of provided the platform to stay the right side of that line.
In my opinion that we have been spoilt by managers who have managed to get squads to overachieve starting with wagner, Carlos and Neil topped the lot last season… but how did anyone think that we would not revert to type is deluded.
The weakness of our squad is highlighted by the lack of interest in it…. Has there been any bids or rumours for our ‘better players’
The only way of giving us a chance to be competitive was a striker but even after that we are woefully short… and we don’t have the fallback of legend coming in and getting the players to enjoy their football again. His Galvanising powers were used last season and there is no other like him!!!
The championship again is stronger than last season and I think we are going to eventually see a premier league style split begin to affect the worlds most competitive league as there seems to be a disregard to both FFP & budgets from the likes of Cardiff etc
My final point is on exactly that is there a fine for exceeding the budget set is monetary or points, and how does the monetary fine compare with relegation. If you are believe to what you hear the budget is Deans doing his most used phrase was he was a custodian yet the alleged most shady of his deals are often hidden behind NDAs etc.
I look at Chelsea as the worst ran club in football, followed by Man Utd I would suggest that we are in the higher echelons whilst it’s way too early to judge KN he shares something in common with the owners of the the two clubs so maybe we need to prepare for the worst. He probably first heard about Huddersfield Town before he heard the word relegation (in terms of a sports franchise 🇺🇸) it’s possible he doesn’t fully understand the ramifications of it and does he subsequently know how hard it is to rectify.
I was proud of my club in the premier league, I was proud of the unfortunate Wembley losers and I was proud of them again at the of the last season…. But someone at the club advising the owners or previous owners really needs to make someone wake up about how woefully short we are… it will be too late for today and come January I don’t see how we aren’t in the bottom 3 but if I’m wrong I will have possibly done the squad a disservice but I am absolutely certain we will be nowhere near the Top 30 remit that the club initially coined which has been replaced by the punching above our weight, terrier spirit fight In the dog Bullshit.

Reading were required to agree to the terms of a business plan set with the EFL that covered to end of 2022-23 season. They didn't. Makes zero sense to push it like they did and take the punishment, far too risky.

Again another ill advised borderline stupid tweet, he will think town fans are as stupid as trump supporters with the replies!
But someone at the club should be saying say nothing Kev!
Also the club could say stay tuned or nothing to see here but then if they say stay tuned and nothing materialises which is obviously possible then it would cause issues no doubt!

Surely there were outline plans for Championship survival and League 1... There may be some references to this out there. "He must have assumed..." is just speculative guff with no basis in fact.
