Didn’t know they signed Ben Hamer too.
Turn the sound off that’s Emley vs Garforth. Turn the sound on then it’s throw your phone in the bin. Americans should just leave football alone. The commentary is worse than the lass on MotD. Stick to getting excited about a twenty stone bloke with pads and a helmet on grappling with his mirror image, while some skinny kid lobs the ball to a quick kid.

Looked like a cracker of a game that. Well done to Phillips, think that's 5 in 5 for him now?

I love all the excitement from commentators , you get it all over especially in Europe they go mad. Think it Uk who are a bit stuck in the mud ie boring with somethings trying to stay in 1900’s.

One thing I've noticed about Phillips in those highlights & others is that he has a bit of pace which is sadly lacking in most of our forwards. If he can stay fit, he could be a useful option for us next season, having already had experience in L1 I thought that, but then I don’t remember him looking particularly quick over here.. so perhaps it’s that the standard is lower over there and therefore many players are much slower. Would be interested to know.

His loan move agreement was undisclosed so I'm guessing he could be recalled by MD if he wants him back for pre season...........Seems happy as Larry at the moment.

Sounds either like Hungerfield or Hunderfield. Must be a tricky thing to say in the US 😳

Would be interested to know. Not my recollection. I recall him being lightning against Boro once upon a time. His issue is fitness. Seeing him there he looks like he could be a great asset: quick, strong, direct, confident, knowing where the goal is. His problem is that he gets injured every five minutes and he's not a kid any more. He's one that, because of his limited impact with us I'd be looking to move on despite those attributes. But if he does prove his fitness, I'm not against him being an option. It's much better than going out spending money on transfer fees and wages if he is good enough - and his League One stats suggest he is - and fully fit.

He might have found his level, and if it works for him over there then let him stay. Could be a life changing move for the kid after all his injury issues.

Another 'Phillips' named player went from non league to premier league..........Many more on that list including current England keeper Jordan Pickford.

While I think he's probably best moving on, I felt he did okay in some of the games he played in COVID, but feel like he's a forward that benefits playing up front with a partner. He didn't strike me as a lone forward.
Also, he's from Huddersfield, so instantly there's much more of an affinity to him than the South London or the Stockport contingent we've had coming through the ranks in the last few years. I hope we see a return to having an Academy full of young, local lads, rather than them being bussed in from down South.

The thing that may count in his favour here is that Duff does like a front two.

I hear that they edited that interview. When asked what he missed most about back home, he said Hendersons relish. When asked what that was, he explained it was a bit like Worcestershire sauce. After 75 takes they decided to can that bit of the interview…

Much more skilful than the Vanarama League... Phillips having the time of his life. From the highlights, seems like a great game. You would hope for better defending from your team but I would have been very happy watching a game like that last season. A seven goal cup match where we come back twice from a goal down to win it near the end. Some good fast football there too. Lovely to see Phillips getting hugs at the final whistle, he really played a big part in that. Looks a very happy lad at the moment. I had not realised how big he is, looks like a proper centre forward. Not sure how one of the Sac players ends up with a number 96 on his back though, I wonder if Justasmithers can shed any light on that. He’s the team ‘you know what’, so they compromised on giving him number 96…

I genuinely can't remember Phillips playing for us. Goes to show how bad my memory is.

I know the guy that co-wrote that. That's pretty cool. Two of my cousins once played in a fairly obscure prog rock band but that's about as close as I am to knowing any successful musicians. I like a bit of prog, care to share name in case I have anything by them?

Really pleased for the kid, he looks to be loving life there & has scored some lovely goals. He may just earn a spot back with us.
Good look to the team, hope they win the title & the US Open Cup.

For some reason, and I think it may have been something I read or heard back in the 90s, I’ve avoided Sacramento despite travelling extensively through California since I first went in 1981. Since the takeover, I’ve reevaluated my uninformed opinion, read up about the place and seriously considering adding a Sacramento stop to a September trip for a conference in San Diego, taking in a game v New Mexico on 30/9 (or 9/30).
Logistics aren’t particularly great but weekend free to do what I want so giving it a lot of thought. Anyone on here been?

Sacremento is very different to the San Fran experience. We went twice, and down by the river and the tourist boardwalk is fun.Other than that it's a working town like Huddersfield. A great stop also if you're on the way to Lake Tahoe or Yosemite.
