There's me thinking "Up The Town" would be a documentary primarily about Huddersfield Town. Depends how you look at it. To an American audience theyâre being educated about the club and its history, to Town fans weâre learning about the guy thatâs taken us over for the years to come. I guess people can find faults in anything if they want to. Or just have opinions on things. You think it's brilliant, I think it's dull. Both opinions are allowed. I love football documentaries, but ones that actually focus on football. So far, I feel this documentary has focused far too much on Kevin Nagle and how brilliant he is. Admittedly, the last episode was the best of the lot so far but it had less focus on how brilliant Kevin Nagle is and actually focused a bit more on Huddersfield Town, which is the only thing I'm really interested in. Hopefully future episodes follow the same track.

Just watched both - constant self-promotion. A lot gets said about him, but I don't feel like I've watched anything other than the Kevin Nagle show. I mean, the whole series is kind of supposed to be about him⌠an unheard of American buying a football club heâd never heard of either that was on the brink of administration. As fans, weâre learning about who he is, how it happened, the stages to the takeover and now todayâs episodes meeting the staff & fans. Interested to hear what content you'd want to see instead? As htafcokay has just eluded - with the title been called âUp the Townâ I thought itâd be more about Town rather than just about KN. A very fair explanation from justaguy though. Maybe as the season starts on the series we will see more about Town.

Iâm enjoying this because itâs produced well and different to what weâve ever seen before, so Iâm surprised how the instant reaction is negative from some. But each to their own I agree.

I donât know how they get it to a bigger audience and thereâs little chance anyone would be rushing to watch it on Netflix. Weâd need that hook/big story line (e.g promotion from the brink of going under, big name manager or investor) to get a wider audience.

Has that American 'structured reality' vibe to a lot of it which I don't really like (somewhat less so in today's episodes). It's light and inoffensive, nothing revelatory from it being behind the scenes. We've been spoiled a bit by the club making some really good quality films with Simon Normington back in the day. Would love an updated version of the Final Whistle, an incredible historical document but now missing the a quarter of the club's history. Nagle seems to value that kind of thing from his purchase and donation of Tommy Wilson's old medals. I wonder if he'd like the idea?

Just watched both - constant self-promotion. A lot gets said about him, but I don't feel like I've watched anything other than the Kevin Nagle show. I would take issue with âself-promotionâ but letâs roll with that. 100% Kevin is much of the focus, but itâs not out of ego. One of the things realized early on is that this club is a sacred treasure, and this unknown American was coming in to take control. The idea from the jump wasnât anything other than being transparent, letting folks see who the man was in front and behind the scenes, and trying to give a glimpse to the process itself. I couldnât speak for the man but I would imagine in good and bad times, heâs always going to want supporters to feel like heâs being honest and transparent no matter what, perhaps to a fault. If you go into the series with the understanding that THOSE are the goals, it might make more sense to some. UTT âI couldnât speak for the manâ đ

Kevin Nagle is my hero, he is the best.
He has made great decisions and will do well for Town.
I really like him.
That should stop some fucking dickhead reporting me and me then being banned.

I think it's excellent and anything that shows the club in a positive light should be well received by the supporters.
Nagle comes across very well and even though it's obviously edited for telly there is enough there to see that the intentions are spot on.
A few whingey babies crying because he hasn't signed Ronaldo in his first few months shouldn't detract from the bigger picture.

I doubt it the board is full of crazies that have never posted previously that tell us all they know what KN has planned and what he will be doing in the future.

This isn't me being negative, it's a genuine question. Maybe Kevs mate could answer it. No there isnât. The first three episodes topped out at roughly 37,000 views each, thatâs niche. Thereâs guys who can barely string a sentence together making videos of themselves camping and making Pot Noodles who get more views weekly, never mind that itâs spun out over many months. It is however lot more views than watch most of the highlights, Manager conferences or player interviewsâŚso makes sense to continue doing it and hoping to get some pull through to the other stuff, and then overall there may be some minimal value to attach to the YouTube content. They really should be putting it out in a more organised fashion thoughâŚdoesnât necessarily have to be more regular, but if youâre going to do it monthly, do it monthly, donât have 3 months off and then push 2 videos and then wait another 2 months. Thatâs not how to build an audience.

I see enough about the match day when I go and the majority of the time so far this season I've hardly wanted to tune in again to go through seeing it again!
Strange how some people can't just be pleased there's something that shows another view of a part of our club we still don't know much about, the one that owns it! And feel the need to go on about how dull it is and it's not what they want, as has been said if you just want to focus solely on the match day side of things that's fine there's loads of other stuff for that and I'm sure this will build more towards that but for now it's giving us an insight to something we don't know much about so I can't see why there's a problem with it.

Jesus. Why did they put those chavvy kids in the edit? I thought they captured something of the irreverent passion that football, including Town, can potentially generate. I and my mates were much that way when we were their age - and itâs good to know that the digital age hasnât completely crushed that kind of joyful âunfilteredâ spirit in and around the peopleâs sport. They were having fun, and thatâs what they and their families pay for.

Very good that, keep em coming. As previously Kevin comes across really well. I wonder where he'll stay when in Hudds, looks like his place in California will take some matching! We also have some nice hills though! He'll have to buy some proper footwear in January

People need to realise that in the opening title sequence the Executive Producer is Kevin Nagle (i.e. he's commissioned it and paid for it)
The production company is an American production company.
This series is nothing to do with Town editorially but only the story of KN buying our club.
Therefore, it is going to be promoting KN in a good light, but in my opinion this is true reflection of KN and not a lot of spin put on it.
Don't blame the communications department at HTAFC for the content, they are only hosting it on HTTV (YouTube)

If you genuinely believe you aren't the one that's been hysterical then I'm flabbergasted
