I agree. Sorry I didn’t make it clear but the quotation marks around the words were meant to show my disdain for the phrase used by a previous poster. My post also had quotation marks which as someone has already pointed out was reference to a silly old man at Odeon cinema. Is it worth going to watch, or should I wait for it to come out on video?

Hamer started the season ahead of Lossl due to DW having a hissy fit about his contract negotiations. Wagner bought the ‘African wingers’ for £27m, selling Ince in the process. Siewart playing them is a far lesser crime. The squad was a mess, the team in free fall and the whole club an absolute car crash. Siewart picking Rowe had very little to do with that. One was french and one was belgian so think you should get rid of that ridiculous post that just screams you’re a massive racist You shouldn’t throw that word around but apologies for any offence and i won’t refer to i it again. The poster you replied to certainly doesn’t deserve any stick for it.

I was thinking more if he doesn't buy it, sponsor it. Pump his money into naming rights of the stadium. Kev’s Kingdom by the Colne? And a big shout out to our visitors and welcome to the Nagels Bagels arena.

I'm Shortbread Pete but I wasn't telling him how he feels but rather how to express himself without sounding ridiculous I don’t wish any ills on the man so maybe hate is a daft word to use. However i’m convinced he cost our club millions of pounds by simply acting like an absolute tool. Nothing to do with notepads and who wants to leave. Just shouting down at players like Billing, Lossl, Zanka who have had careers that joker can only dream of. Apologies for knocking this thread completely off track. I have really enjoyed the documentary series!!! Kev looks like a good guy to me who really wants to help the town of Huddersfield. Fair play Boothy! Il admit, I was never a fan of Billing. For us, he was lazy. A lot of goals were conceded for him not being arsed to follow his man. He has matured hugely. I get why, at that point in time, JS called him out. Zanka, bought a few hundred a pint at St Mary's, that move bought him time. Overall, massively over rated and in my opinion, was the one with the biggest ego. Lossl, I didn't mind at all. Very good goalkeeper and a down to earth man. Came back to us on loan when we were in a mini crisis and always speaks well of us. Going back to our opinions, Siewerts record is horrendous, but, and only because I got the chance to meet him, was a lovely chap and had all the right intentions. Experience let him down, especially in the situation the club was in.

Looking back, I find it hard to blame anyone for that calamitous second season.
We’d pulled off two miracles by achieving far more than the sum of our parts could have ever dreamt of. It was always going to be unsustainable and, without the close bond throughout that made it happen, the centre could not hold and the wheels came off spectacularly.
Nothing lasts forever. The main lesson is not to undermine the glory of those 2 seasons by seeing them as causation factors to the dark days since.

Second season in the Premier League is always hard. Ask Forest, Leeds only survived it with luck.
You go into season one after winning games for months and all that goes with that. Chances are you go into season two on the back of a load of defeats.

I think I find it hard to know who to blame, so maybe slightly different from your perspective. I know it shouldn’t, and it’s only football, but I get so angry and frustrated each time I reflect on our two seasons in the Prem and the lack of legacy. Of course, Hoyle’s illness complicates things. Who do we hold accountable for overspending? Kongolo is probably a good example. He was great on loan, but we spent €20 million on him. We could have recruited someone equally as good, with a better injury record, for a quarter of that price. Who scouted and signed off on Mbenza, Sobhi, Diakhaby? Who organised the sale of the club around the idea that the club would pay Hoyle back with parachute payments rather than having those larger sums available to establish us in the top half? Where is the evidence of our two years of Prem money? Who was lazy enough to assume that replacing Wagner using the same model would produce the same results. In football, it’s obvious that adapting is important. Pep tinkers with his squad each summer - one or two out, one or two in. It keeps things fresh, provides new challenges. I have a lot of sympathy for Siewert, but he was the wrong choice because he was meant to be the same as Wagner. It was lazy. Why did no-one on the club’s board question *any* of the above? The failures I’ve outlined above probably concern a big group of people. Hoyle, Winter, DoF, scouting dept, various members of the board, Hodgkinson (albeit a bit later), Wagner (and his team), Bühler, Siewert. No individual could shoulder the blame for all of that. The blame would have to be a collective type. This collective responsibility was never addressed, never taken. Not once. People have come and gone, but not one has admitted that a culture of failure was created and left unacknowledged. The club has suffered from it for the last 5 years. Nagle’s challenge is as much about improving us on the pitch as behind the scenes. I find what I’ve written above so lamentable, sorry if it’s slightly off-topic for this thread.

For me we just weren't ready for the step up and signing the speed twins and Dean's illness we became a complete mess of a club. the issue for me was that after relegation the heart went out of the club, Dean decided he wanted as much money back as he could get and we got rid of players and replaced them with much cheaper options. The mess got worse when Dean decided to pass the club on to someone who did not have the wherewithal to step up to the mark. We are all hoping that the new owner will do a good job, so January is important and should be the time to see if he is.

Old enough then to know the difference between 'dislike intensely' and 'hate' Pete, You'll have to help me here. What is the difference between 'dislike intensely' and 'hate'? I'd have thought they were pretty b****y similar & in fact the first definition of hate I looked at was "intense dislike".

The funny thing is, a truly open and transparent behind the scenes of whats going on right now (and the next couple of weeks) could actually be by far more interesting and watchable than those that have been released (the first one was interesting as it was the first time we really got to hear and see KN - but there's been no real point to any of the others), if a completely free reign was given to the editing process!
American takes over a boring middle of the road inoffensive football club - nobody cares outside the clubs fans. Club implodes (and hopefully drags itself from the precipice at the last moment over these next two games & with a bit of luck going our way from the other teams results) - the rest of the world watches and relishes the pain.

Oh yeah we've got Sunderland Till I Die written all over us, could be a real hit. Imagine the general public would love watching KN, JE and MC make multiple horror decisions between them all season. Particularly pushing Warnock out the character that he is. Could be a banger.

They’re going to need to rename it to:
“How to buy a football club in just 11 days… then ruin it in just 11 months”
An embarrassing shambles from top to bottom.
