Read my response to Rockwall. Show some respect for a club legend was my point. That’s all. Make it about whatever you want, there’s nothing to see here. I'll show him as much respect as he showed us when he left. From what I heard it was Town who weren't very respectful to him not the other way round.

Yeah, because Dean Hoyle is the man to listen to when it comes to honesty? "The only person this club owes any money to is me and I don't expect to get that back in a million years. As long as the fans want me here then I will continue to do things in the best interests of this club." He didn't get his money back. He took far more back than what you think. Considering the absolute cluster fuck he made of the premier league, he made a joke of the fans and the club after relegation whilst still filling his coffers. He came back because the man he concocted his plan with went bust. Being a 25% owner still he had to come back, Nagle has paid him back for that stint that nearly took us back to league 1 though.

People forget that when JR returned, he picked up an injury in pre-season which sidelined him til the tail end of the year. He was always playing catch up after that, never getting a proper run in the side and being behind goal machine Danny Ward. A succession of managers since haven’t fancied him for some reason despite him being the most prolific striker on the books. Whatever, there’ll always be that first spell when he was on fire and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get 15 this season in the league below. Good luck Jordan, one of the best finishers I’ve seen in a Town shirt and I go back over 40 years.

Bloody hell, the bloke has just walked away from about £40m that hes pumped into this club ( you know, to give you the best period the clubs had in your entire lifetime) and you think he has been filling his coffers at any point!! A bloke who pays £249 a year bitterly moaning that a bloke who's lost £40 million has been filling his coffers?? LOL Football fans are unbelievable.

O'Brien was the latest. he maybe shouldnt have said it, but Hoyle's description of Obrien was right IMO. LOB has nothing to moan about. He did very well out of town and the club didnt stand in his way. The Rhodes thing was different from what I heard. They set the fee they'd sell him, then when BRFC met it, they tried it on a bit with the add ons and nearly scuppered the deal. Was it Clibbens that Rhodes's dad and agent had up against a wall supposedly?

Thanks Jordan and very best wishes for the future.
I don't know him personally, but spoke with him a few times last season, outside the stadium, when my 7 year old son was collecting autographs. Rhodes always seemed a genuine bloke, articulate and very approachable... but he openly told me and many other people that Neil Warnock would not pick him and he would not play many more games for Town.
I don't begrudge the money that he has earned from HTAFC and i have great memories from his first spell with us, plus the play off goal against Luton in his second spell. I'm not in the know about his character or personality in the dressing room, but on the few occasions when he has played during the last year, i thought he was ineffective but seemed to be trying.
This second spell hasn't worked out and we all wish that he had scored more goals, but I genuinely believe that the reason why he never became a top class striker or an established Premier League player is not because of his lack of pace or inability to play as a lone striker, it's because he's too nice and doesn't have the aggression of the best centre forwards. Which meant he was happy to moan to strangers like me instead of proving to Warnock and Jepson that he deserved a run in the starting 11.
But like I said at the start, I wish him all the best and realise that he won't care what I think lol.
UTT ⚪️🔵⚪️ And definitely Town 2 - 1 and our first victory against Norwich

Will be interesting to see how he gets on back in League 1, could prove a very good signing for Blackpool - particularly if they play with someone alongside him and have any half decent wingers. It’s not like he ever had much pace anyway, and his exceptional positioning and finishing may come to the fore more against a lower standard of defender/keeper.

You keep making this point that season ticket holders aren't entitled to moan about the lousy stewardship of the club in recent times because only millionaires are significant human beings, it's such a tory outlook on life - you need to learn to be a better comrade!

You implied he was threatening to go on strike. Prove it! He earned the club over £8m and allowed us to stay in the Championship. We would have been back in league 1 without that money. Comes back 10 years later on a free and gets a better than 1 in 3 scoring record, including the crucial goal that took us to Wembley. Give the lad the respect he deserves! www.bbc.com/sport/football/22247887.ampTake it up with Dean Hoyle. I'm surprised by the amount of bad blood there! At the time I was under the impression that there was a gentleman's agreement that we'd let him go after the 2011-12 season. He was 22 just coming off the back of a 40 goal season, and lots of premier league interest in January. It was really surprising at the time how resolute he was about staying then. To flip like that after us getting promotion and investing fairly heavily, something must have happened behind the scenes. Without knowing the details, I'm more inclined to believe Rhodes was being reasonable in wanting to leave, than Hoyle was being reasonable with that bitter statement.

I have nothing but praise for Jordan. He was on fire for us in his first spell and was feared by every other club in the league, plus he earned us a big transfer fee.
He was never going to scale the same heights in his second spell but he never gave up trying. Best of luck in your new venture Jordan.
Be funny if he now scores for fun at the seaside 😂

Best wishes to him. Said when we signed him second time I thought a 3 Yr deal looked a bit generous as it didn't look like we were going to move Ward on. Still stand by that but can't forget all those goals of the first spell. Along with Stewart one of the best finishers of the modern era at Town.

For me Rhodes is a footballer and Town wanted him back and agreed to pay his wages so it is Town's fault. We seemed to have lost any scouts at the time and had developed a fixation on buying ex town players.
He turned out and tried to do his best when asked, you can't expect any more. If we buy poorly on past it strikers you can expect what we got i.e. one good season from Ward and none from Rhodes this time around.

What a silly argument I would guess the money DH lost is a greater percentage of his total income than a season ticket is of someone on £30k per year ( yes he is still rich but he earned it so don’t begrudge him his money) DH gave Town the best few years I have had watching them since 1962 yes we got it wrong in the Premier League but at least we got there. If you want to moan about the cost of a season ticket don’t buy one and stop at home.

Jordan Rhodes is the best Town player I have seen in 50 years in finding that elusive yard of space in the box, just jumping ahead of his marker & putting the ball in the net. He has scored so many goals for us, made us an awful lot of money for us &, while I was aware at the time that he wanted away first time round (& I.m certainly not blaming him for this, I reckon I’d have done the same) I don’t ever recall him letting us down on the pitch, he always gave his all.
What’s not to like? I loved watching him play, I thank him massively for his contribution to the club & wish him all the best for the future, we have been very lucky to have him.

Very frustrating.

TBF if he was still here he'd be in the starting lineup now.
Wasn't really a Neil Warnock type of player, but he may well be a Darren Moore type of player.

If they bring Rhodes back in January instead of signing a forward it'll be a fucking joke.
