I am curious to see what starting 11 you want Neil to go with. The reason I am having a hard time is because I feel like you cant leave Diarra out but as everyone knows he doesnt have an exact position. The team needs his pressing and speed @ Sunderland from last year is a good example. Will NW go with a back 3 or 4?

You aren't curious, you are stressed. Calm down, he'll pick the team he thinks will do the job regardless of your worries or suggestions. Whether or not they get the job done, well , we'll find out on the day.

Plymouth leaked goals last year and I feel great about the back 4 or 3 that nw can put out. More stessed about the Leicester , Middlesbrough , and Norwich run after this.

Tough one. Newly promoted, full of confidence, full house etc
Time to Warnock them in to reality

Nicholls Edwards Pearson Helik Ruffels Thomas Kasumu Rudoni Headley Ward Koroma
This could work as a 4-4-2 as above, or equally as a 5-4-1 with Ruffels as a left sided centre back, Headley wing back and Koroma ahead of him.
Leaves enough options from the bench- Diarra, Hudlin, Harratt, Jackson can all make an impact.

Awful performance against a ten man Dutch team despite a 1-0 score line leads me to believe we'll get battered at Plymouth.
3-0 Argyle.

Have they even got ten championship starts between them?!

Huddersfield scrape a 1 nill win. Plymouth have less explosion up front and that defense leaked goals in league 1 last year. They love to attack which plays into our hands. I have been critical of this transfer window but we can all admit we are solid at the back. I am more worried about the 4 matches after this.

I would go with a team very similiar to the one that got a draw at Sunderland last year. They like to play out of the back so we can possibly create an easy goal with our press that has looked strong.
Ward, Diarra , Headley, Rudoni, Karoma, Reg Ruffels, Helik, Pearson , Edwards King Nichols

Worry that we get a couple of injuries and end up over relying on them though.

Hoping for a good start… 🤞🤞🤞 It won’t be easy and Plymouth will deserve the utmost respect (which of course I think Neil and Ronnie will afford them) - but I think this is one we could maybe just sneak three points from with a narrow win... I’ll give my prediction on the Saturday as usual over the pre bus dram 😊 I’ve very much enjoyed the break after the stress and dramatic finish to last season, but I’m now raring to go once again - Buckle up for the ride - It’s The Huddy Town ride - and therefore it’s sure to be filled to the brim with DRRRRAAAMMMAAA !!! 😬

There was another thread discussing the fixture list release and I remember saying anyone but a newly promoted side away from home first game. Used to winning, full of confidence, won 20 of their last 23 home games. A point wouldn’t be a bad result.

Either way lads it is a thin bench. Yes, and we need nine subs on the bench now, do they all need to get stripped, lol.

No idea result wise..can’t read anything into pre season results. Also impossible to say what Plymouth will be like at this level. From what can gather looked a bit stronger when we have played two up top.I’d go 3-4-1-2 Nicholls Pearson Helik Yuta(ruffels if yuta not ready) Sorba Reg Rudoni Diarra Ruffels(headley if ruffels drops to centre half) Koroma Ward Looks very make shift with the injuries we have, which in itself is worrying.Midfield very light.Hopefully we can put in a performance and get some sort of result.

Have they even got ten championship starts between them?! yeah, I honestly think we need 3 or 4 new players still. 2 of the last 3 seasons there's been extended periods of the season where we've had 10-12 players out. Currently we'd struggle to raise a full team if that happened!

Based on the squad and injury situation I think they'll be too good for us with momentum and a full house and we'll lose narrowly. I expect we'll be well organised, hard working but unable to retain possession or create much.
Hope I'm wrong because it's a very tricky start and if we're not careful we could be on 0 points for a while.

Jackson started 12 championship games last season, Diarra started 7 He panicks as much as Callum and bluebell does... It's a weak bench for an established championship team, very weak. That's a fact.

A point would be a decent start.
I'm sure Warnock will be wary of Plymouth's momentum, and it surely won't have escaped his notice that Argyle have signed two young players (Whittaker and Mumba from Swansea and Norwich respectively) who helped them to League One title last season. 2 million quid they paid out for these two, so they must be highly rated at least.
Overall, they're a very young squad (youngest I can remember noticing in a Championship side and only the captain, Joe Edwards, is over 30), so I get the feeling Warnock will be wanting to temper Plymouth's youthful vitality with a "respectfully robust" performance from our lads.
That doesn't mean to say he'll be wanting to portray the image of a size 14 boot in the heads of our players before kick-off to inspire our lads on to victory, I think it'll be a cracking game with our lads playing some decent combination football with lightning-type breaks.
Can't wait - might be tempted to go for a 2-2 draw on Prediction League.

Plymouth fans were far from happy with that 3-1 loss at Swindon but totally different situation on Saturday when playing infront of a very vocal full house
A draw would be a good result and looking forward to it
