Anyone else struggling to find a realistic 21 man playing squad for this game? I bet we have two keepers on the bench to pad the team out. Feel for NW that we're starting the season without improving the first team and struggling to put a matchday squad together. A month to go until the transfer window closes, I'll be very disappointed if we can’t bring in 2/3 first team players who can improve the team. You do realise you can only use 5 subs? NW will know who is going to play, nothing wrong in shoving a couple of the young lads on the bench for the matchday experience. Rhodes and Yuta will also probably be on the bench. So maybe take the squad from the Heerenveen game and add then 2 in too. A couple of young lads? Literally half of the squad will be lads from the academy on Saturday with only a handful proven at this level. Don't get me wrong, I have high hopes for some of these lads but pinning hopes on them all to do the business consistently at this level is a very dangerous game. No issues with the keeper department or defence, we're very light in midfield, we probably need another winger with Jones' injury issues and our strikers we currently have are simply not good enough. We're still someway off being a competitive championship squad and the season starts in 3 days.

Nothing to do with form this one It’s all about who got their arse into gear preseason 3 points well within our reach Just glad the seasons back Exactly. , I for one also cannot wait….. full house, great atmosphere, season KO in style, in a league we should have dropped out of. Like you, I want to focus on what we have and be grateful we have a club . Positive only UTT

I think it will be a tough game, Plymouth were outstanding at home last season, 20 wins from 23 games. Hoping for the best but see a 2-1 defeat.

Thought town would have brought in a fan pleasing quality striker before the Plymouth game especially after all the ongoing rumours through the close season

I think we'll struggle to win for sure. Lack of signings could go either way - players deflated by lack of new faces, or buoyed that the group is still together to continue form from back end. Plymouth will be up for it, long way for Town to go... I'll take a point to be off and running.

(may be depending on work ) looking to make a late dash down to Plymouth whats the best option? Any travel option at this late stage is going to be an utter pain and expensive mate. Driving would be a nightmare, train extremely pricey, official club coach hell on earth.

(may be depending on work ) looking to make a late dash down to Plymouth whats the best option? From up here..option 1, train-ridiculously expensive...option 2, coach from the ground (or independent)...option 3, car-depending on how many travelling again expensive.

Speak for yourself… I’ve seen some quality brasses near the stadium..

(may be depending on work ) looking to make a late dash down to Plymouth whats the best option? Maybe put a thread on here requesting if anyone has a spare lift available, then going to ground early if you don't have a ticket & see if the players have a spare one? I did this quite a few years ago before a Southend first game of the season at the last minute - but I didn't need a player's ticket, there were plenty available

Me thinks too much negativity on here. We have the same side that was getting results at the end of last season. A manager that is a winner and would not have stayed unless he saw an opportunity to end his career on a high. Young players Rudoni, Kasumu, Diarra who are beginning to find their feet at this level. Older players like Ruffels that have found their feet. Exciting youngsters like Jones and Headley. Rejuvenated Koroma and hopefully Thomas. A very solid defence too. Compare to last season, we'd just lost Corberan, Toffolo and O'brien, Pearson out injured and a rookie manager in the hotseat plus fresh green faces like Rudoni and Kasumu. We are in alot better place before any signings (which will come) than last year. We are going to do well under Warnock!

We are going to do well under Warnock! results that were a result of an upswing in mood about the place, momentum, and overachieving with a smash and grab style that can't be sustained in the long run. If we win this one then I'm not worried as it's a very difficult opener.

The town way is to lose to Plymouth in an underwhelming performance then sneak a win against Leicster

(may be depending on work ) looking to make a late dash down to Plymouth whats the best option? fly down Not sure how long this journey takes by Air or how much a return journey costs
Nearest airport is Exeter which is an hour away from Plymouth and then you need to get from airport to Exeter Rail for train to Plymouth then bus to ground from Plymouth.
Shame the club did not put on a subsidised special train for such a long journey especially with a mentioned over 1,500 tickets sold
Local match for myself and the many S/W terriers for a change

Plymouth away was a definite for me before the fixtures came out . But after two very long car journeys to Cornwall/Devon and back for the pre season friendlies... Radio Leeds and a few spiced rums sounds a good option. Good on all those making the trip down , bring all three points back.👍
