It was. "Season starts against Cardiff" said Wagner. You could have fooled me. I met mr hoyle after that game as he was doing a book signing in the club shop. I said what do you think to todays result he said “we needed three points.” Remember thinking is the rot setting in at this early point. All that plus Hogg banned for three too. Why is hogg banned?

Leicester fans on Foxes talk are more than happy with their scrappy, win ugly, grind out, gritty performance against awkward opponents who were 'in your face' for over an hour before running out of steam......Sums it up for me what they are saying, did we lack stiffer opponents pre season?..Possibly. I’m sure if Leicester had defended from the front like we did it would’ve been “a brilliant and bold high press nullifying their deep pivot that created an xg of 1.3 etc etc.” Leicester fans are wankers, and also opposition fans of footballing teams will never give a Warnock team credit. I wouldn’t say we ran out of steam, just that we were playing close to the maximum of the team’s potential and pressing like that against a team with quality players in is always going to be walking a bit of a tight rope. If you think Leicester fans are wankers, your description of Forest fans would be interesting (but probably not safe for work). I suspect I've been in contact with more of them than you in the years I've been down here and find them more grounded than most sets of fans IMHO. I think those comments quoted are reasonable and complimentary. PS For clarity & contrast the Forest fanbase appears to contain a higher % of complete and utter c***s than any other I've encountered..... ....and I was of that opinion long before May 2022.

Just going on their conduct at the match, always found them highly objectionable.

Speaking to one as I walked up to town after, I was glad when we went our separate ways. It was like talking to the bastard lovechild of a Chestwanker and a Wendy.

Couldn’t get to the game but watched the condensed highlights yesterday.
It looked like we did OK. But for a keeper being beaten by pace we should have got something from that game. I can understand why Warnock was quite calm after that game, we deserved a lot more than we ended up with.
Nicholls made a couple more stops as well, so a bit churlish to blame him for the goal.
Something to build on.

Played like we did and the Football League papers Championship team of the day has Nicholls in it. That's probably lazy journalism. They've seen we've only lost 1-0 against the might Leicester, so the keeper MUST have played a blinder. Certainly made one or two good saves, but I didn't think he was any better (or worse, despite the goal) than his usual self. Still nice to see Town players named in those things though.

That was a jolly good show from our chaps. I saw our new owner outside the ground what an absolutely, thoroughly, bloody nice bloke.

I’m the lazy journalist who put Nicholls in the team of the week. First year I haven’t had a season ticket since 1986 as I now work every Saturday on the Football League Paper… so thought I’d give us mention as no other bugger does!

I was the one that originally posted about it. I was just surprised he got in given the size of the bollock he dropped for the goal whereas most of the defenders and midfielders had more of a shout for inclusion (IMO😉)

If I’d have been at the JSS I’d have probably thought the same. According to the stats we use he was as good as any keeper in the division on Saturday. I’m sure he will be in the TOTW again before the season’s done and will merit it. Let’s hope he’s still in September

Let’s hope he’s still in September The lazy journalism quote wasn't intended as a sleight mate, and I certainly didn't mean to imply you personally are ACTUALLY lazy, I just meant it as a catch-all phrase and he was (apart form the goal) his usual commanding self IMO. It's mainly the big papers I reserve it for; when you read a match report and it's 100% clear they weren't actually AT the game. I feel for you not being able to get a season ticket. The year I worked at JJB I didn't get one, thinking I'd be working Saturdays. Sod's law I managed to swap shifts with colleagues and never missed a single match, paying full price every week

Back in the day I used to do the fan’s view report in the Unexamined for Mel Booth. You needed thick skin for that as this site was an interesting read after the report was published!

An horrific accident with the passengers burnt to death. The rear bearing that caused the catasatrophic failure of the rear rotor should not have failed, so was it a defective component ? I dare say they've changed the routine inspection requirements now to include bearing checks/replacement. I wonder if a legal case might follow this much delayed report.

One of the reports I read said that the bearing was due for inspection after 500 flight hours and it had only done between 300 & 400 (can't remember the exact number) so that suggests (to me anyway) the bearing was faulty/badly manufactured. Maybe they'll change/reduce the number of flying hours between inspections. It's 8 weeks for our trucks between inspections, I'd have thought aircraft were even more thoroughly checked, but it seems not.

When you consider the consequences of a bearing failure on a 'copter, but I agree it suggests a sub standard component was fitted and I wonder if the Servicing company has fitted similar sub standard components in other 'copters...
