When it comes to Town I'm very stoical these days. We could easily pull a surprise tomorrow, definitely a good chance of a point. I don't think we'll get a tonking. There do seem to be alot of pessimists around. They make Arterrier look almost happyclappy.

And before you happy boys all start: 1.My prediction on here has no bearing on the actual result. 2. Its not what I want, its what I think will happen and I hope I'm wrong.

I'm not sure what is wrong with the majority of us!? Based on nothing more than new season hope and delusional optimsm, I genuinely think we will beat Leicester.
The stadium will be rocking tomorrow and the players will be up for it. This is exactly the type of game where Neil Warnock can mastermind an unexpected victory.
We are Huddersfield Town and we are a Championship club. Regardless of conspiracy theories, missing millions and lack of new signings, we have a manager who we begged to stay for one more year (about 3 months ago) and a new owner who communicates with fans, is personable, accessible and surely has to be given a chance.
Yes a few new signings would lift morale and improve our chances and lets hope they still happen. But let's not act like our massive west yorkshire or south yorkshire neighbours and pretend that we are bigger than we are.
Huddersfield 2 v 1 Leicester City Harratt 2 goals UTT

Huddersfield 2 v 1 Leicester City Harratt 2 goals UTT The only thing to celebrate this summer has been getting Warnock to stay on for a further 12 months, I thought that was a real coup. The takeover had been completed and I expected us to spend a little cash with several new signings coming through the door, the majority of who would walk into the first team. There’s been nothing other than a new back-up keeper and a loan signing. How we managed to stay up last season is still a mystery to me because we were largely garbage. The team last season wasn’t good enough and we’ve made no significant changes. I still have us to scrape up finishing lower half of the table but only because we have Warnock in charge. Still a couple of weeks of the transfer window to go so you have to remain relatively optimistic but if nobody better than who we already have aren’t recruited, it’s going to be another season of real struggle. Apologies for being negative but I have non of that new season excitement or optimism after a close season of near complete inactivity.

They have more quality than Town in every single department.

Looking forward to today although I don't know why! It will be like a cup game with the gulf in quality, L1 Vs PL squad, be like the good old days in the PL trying to stay in the game for as long as possible. Need to avoid conceding early at all costs! Neil sounds quite bullish but I expect them to have over 70 percent possession and Nichols will have a busy afternoon. Hoping to see some service improvements behind the bars too, will probably need a few beers!

Will seem strange not driving up for first home game, very rarely missed one while SC holder but things move on. Looks a big ask on paper but you never know, will keep fingers crossed for a town point or three. Have a great day all you turning out in support at JSS.

Easy Town win, we took an aggregate 27-1 score through pre-season including against top-flight opposition...last weekend was wind affected, and we were were one goal shy of penalties midweek against a team that was in the play-offs last season despite playing most of the game with 10 men.
Leicester won't know whats hit 'em...3-1 Town win...last minute consolation for the M'Ducks.

Be like attack and defence today. Town camped inside their own half whilst Leicester pass it around like prime Brazil. Ward will run the equivalent of a marathon but not touch the ball.
Yet Il still enjoy the first home game of the season!!

Lads will need some good support today. Touch and go whether we will break 20% possession. However we were great at catching dominant teams on the break at the end of last season.

There was the same level of pessimism prior to that game and look what happened. Leicester are still a work in progress and now is a decent time to play them at home. Keep the faith!

A 0-4 bumming awaits, league 1 v Prem today. Not the lads' fault, they work hard, but we are a poor side.

Usually a queue so I'd get it earlyish Queue on Tuesday night was huge when i walked past. People who rock up 5 mins before KO and expect to go straight to the window need to have a word with themselves. I think the club do too, crazy that you can’t just rock up and pay at the turnstiles. We often used to pickup new recruits before games. Whether it be in the local butty shop, boozer, bus ride over or mates asking what you was upto for the day. Many fans for life born from these situations. Not to mention as a young kid taking the paper ticket from someone that couldn’t attend, standing outside the pay on the day turnstile and flogging it for a fiver to spend on a couple of underage pints in the concourse (not sure if theyre still so liberal about ID in the ground).

Removing pay on the gate is idiotic when the grounds got so many empty seats.

I’d go if I lived there, why not, it’s still an afternoon out at the football, even if it isn’t Town. You could bump into famous Worthing fan Bob Pepper!

Depends on weather, Walton. The hedge needs cutting but the weather's been a bit crappie so if it looks like more rain I might stroll up to Plainmoor.

A 0-4 bumming awaits, league 1 v Prem today. Not the lads' fault, they work hard, but we are a poor side. And yet the game takes place in the second matchweek (I hate that term) of the Championship. They're a better side than us, but they're in this league for the same reasons we are. Not good enough over 38 games for the division above. Too good over 46 games for the division below. And the game isn't played on reputation, especially in this league.
