Hmmm,if he is substituted or is a substitute a lot, perhaps it is a better measure? Surely minutes played per goal is a better measure, if that is the case. A quarter a goal every 90 mins just seems a bizarre stat. Might be referring to Xg per 90, averages 0.25 expected goals 🤷♂️

Unsure why we are holding off on the announcement, he’s definitely signed. Just a normal loan AFAIA If he’s signed, without a Visa, the club will be in deep water. I think you can sign without a Visa, he just wouldn't be allowed to play. A few players get bought and then loaned straight out to make up their points, usually to an EU country (when that was relevant to us) when they've been signed from South America and other far-flung places that need loads of points.

Premier League and Sky Bet Championship clubs will now be able to sign up to four overseas players per season who do not meet the current points requirements of the international visa system. The Football Association confirmed it had designed a 'new football solution' which comes into effect for this summer's transfer window. Clubs in Leagues One and Two will be able to sign up to two overseas players per season who do not meet the regular Governing Body Endorsement (GBE) criteria, which have been approved by the Home Office. source

I was just commenting on the Visa bit and how teams have done the loaning thing in the past if a player didn't meet Visa requirements. I don't think any of it will particularly affect us THIS season though

Assuming that he is signed, it'll be interesting to see how he's utilised.
For me, our attack is lacking:
* Cover/competition for Ward * Cover/competition for Sorba * Pace * Goal threat from the RHS.
CV says he's a left winger that can also play centre forward.
He seems quick, so that's one box ticked.
If we're using him as a centre forward, his stats raise a few questions about how prolific he is. If he isn't prolific, why not? What else does he bring to the table? Also, how well can he play the lone striker role (as opposed to needing a strike partner)?
Alternatively, if he can play on the left wing, how well can he play on the right (as we have more options on the left)?
Or, do we envisage moving JK, PJ, JH over to the right (and how much will their performance drop by being on the other side)? Or having them switch multiple times per game?

In the report from earlier in the thread: 'A right-footed 6ft1 forward who has averaged 1 goal for every 4 completed 90s.'.

Warnock - "He's the one doing the medical. He gives us options in the front line. He's got pace, he's powerful, he wants to learn as much as he can, and he impressed me when I spoke to him. The recruitment team are very keen on him and he gives us a different option."

It's so nice to hear potential signings being talked about rather than the club pretending that they know nothing about it and acting like the player doesnt exist

It's good Warnock is giving him the once over...even though the recruitment team are 'very enthusiastic' ...Got the feeling the recruitment team in the past didn't have much/any input from the manager..

Interesting player. Lots to prove. Mainz look to have played him as a centre forward but he looks to have scored more goals playing on the wing! Adds another dimension to the forward line! Doubt he'll be used to hold the ball up. Wonder who the other forward we have lined up.
