Funny how he’s scored same amount as Rhodes last season and one is rated as class and one as having no end product.

I think it was mentioned that the option to buy price is a million pounds. I wouldn’t be signing him at that. He's on track to get double figures. A striker capable of that will cost you a lot more than a million quid nowadays. Who would you want to sign that's better for that sort of money?

The fact he's the best striker in our squad says more about the sh*tshow our recruitment is than Burgzorg's ability. He's VLP without the end product! Are goals classed as end product?

I’m not convinced I’d pay 1m for him. But he’s got something about him that I like.
His general play is poor as he doesn’t really seem to be a team player, but he has pace and strength and does look like he’s interested.
I certainly wouldn’t rule him out for now

I'm more surprised by the suggestion that RVLP had end product. He has many positive traits, but end product was the reason he was with us and not at a much higher level.

Delano is a player who will delight and frustrate in equal measure. Probably plays more for himself than for his team. The sort of player I don't usually like.
And yet, I like him. He can create something from nothing which - let's face it - we need right now.
Ideally he's a wildcard. Someone who would thrive in a side with a better structure around him. Bring in a decent centre forward and have DB7 competing with JK for a role on the left of our attack. With Sorba and A.N. Other competing on the RHS that's a very decent attack for this level.
£1m? Depends on our budget. I think he's worth it, but if that £1m spend prevents us buying the striker, long term replacement for Hoggy or Mooy-type midfielder then our money would be better spent there.
If the budget allows though, yep. I'd be on that.

Still the best winger we’ve had for a long time.

His finishing is pretty good.
His general awareness and team play is poor.
He is more likely to create/score goals than most in our team, but he is just as likely to ruin an attack with a poor touch or his refusal to get his head up and pass.
Frustrating player, with a lot to learn. But in our current team, well worth his place.

He’s absolutely nothing like VLP in terms of playing ability; VLP had an excellent touch but was an appalling finisher; Burgzorg has an average touch and is a decent finisher. Again, the classic DATM superficial comparison is in full force; he’s got Dutch links, whose the last ditch winger we had…oh yea VLP. .

Is it just me that thinks Burgzorg and VLP are absolutely nothing like each other? Burgzorg is the piece that VLP never had and VLP is the piece that Burgzorg doesn't have. If you merged them together you would probably have a top 10 premier league player

Considering Koroma seems to being played out of position (If at all) and Sorba's set pieces have been completely changed - The Zorg is our most likely source of a goal.
Transfer fees of 1.0m doesn't get you very far these days. I think The Zorg is likely going to get 10 goals for us this season and even though we need to find better; he would be very useful as an inside forward or off the bench for a reasonable fee. We've been told the money is there so why wouldn't we buy someone that makes our first 11 instantly better and would certainly we a good option off the bench when the new regime builds a squad capable with the said funds available.
We need first 11 players and squad players because what we have right now is largely way off championship standard - our entire bench is YTS whenever we have the odd injury or suspension.
I know the clubs plan at the time was to strip the assets not invest however I think it's clear we made a mistake not picking up Sinani for 1.0m. His corners were as good as Sorba's, he is left sided, scored goals and was a link between midfield and the final third that we haven't had since. I never understood the split opinion on him; I thought he was great for us. If we could find someone for 1.0m that could replicate what he brought to the side I think we'd have a gem on our hands.

Is it just me that thinks Burgzorg and VLP are absolutely nothing like each other? Burgzorg is the piece that VLP never had and VLP is the piece that Burgzorg doesn't have. If you merged them together you would probably have a top 10 premier league player I think the comparison is quite lazy, and people were making it when he'd barely kicked a ball for us. It's because they're both quite frustrating players who have the shared traits of holding onto the ball for a bit too long while both being Dutch, having brown skin, and being slightly gangly. Burgzorg, when he doesn't have too much time to think about it, is a deadly finisher. He's strong, can hold it up well, isn't particularly effective off the ball but does make an effort in his own ways. Thinks he's a much better dribbler than he actually is, although I think he will score at least one mazy running wondergoal this season. VLP, aside from that brilliant goal against West Brom at home, couldn't finish and had no instincts in the box at all. He wasn't strong or any good with his back to goal, so could never play a centre forward role in a million years. Although not amazing defensively, he had a lot of graft off the ball and worked hard (Sorba is very similar in this aspect I think). He was a great dribbler and if anything enjoyed it too much, hence regularly beating the same player 3 times but failing to put a cross in. I think that last point is why people compare them, that they both actively enjoy fucking about with the ball even when it's detrimental to the team. But they're not similar players in their attributes.

People need to realise, if Burgzorg was the full package he wouldn't be playing for town. Was thinking exactly the same. If he was picking all the right passes and playing that much better…..he’d not be at Town!! What we need to do is develop and improve players like him so they get that much better and stay and help us go up the table or we sell for a decent amount (the ones we own….)
