Seems to be a bit like Danny Grant, people rave about him as an absolute world beater mostly because we never see him play. Think he’s always going to be one of those that is always ‘going to be amazing next season’ Got it in one. Players seem to become far better when they're not in the team. Who can forget people screaming for Joey Gudjonsson to play under Lee Clark? Clark got sacked and Grayson played him and he lasted eight games before being binned again. The whole Danny Grant stuff was ludicrous. All the Danny Grant stuff was driven by 1 poster, who’s never posted since Grant left. A few on here bought into the hype that poster created. Best player out of Ireland since Seamus Coleman apparently 😂😂 Grant never got near the first team and didn’t even really impress that massively in the B team. Pat Jones has shown glimpses of what he can do in the first team. Needs a season of regular football to show if his hamstrings are up to it and if he can produce a consistent level of play

I even remember one guy stood by me at the Preston cup match screaming and shouting "GET FUCKING DANNY GRANT ON SCHOFIELD", like it would have made a blind bit of difference If he was any good, he wouldn't be playing in the Irish pub league.

If you watched him at Preston away you wouldn't have thought he was a footballer, must say in some games he's looked dangerous though Let's not judge him on that one performance though. I hope he can live up to the earlyexpectationswehad.L1 will be an easier league for him to press on than the Championship would've been

From the times I've seen him play, I think he's a fantastic prospect, but those hamstrings of his have held him back and not just physically. Every time he's come back from an injury it'll be at the back of his mind all the time in training and matches.
If he can prove that he's over his hamstring problems and get a number of consistent minutes and matches under his belt, he could be a big player for us.
I know Duff prefers to play with Wing Backs and not necessarily out and out wingers. But the very best coaches use every player in their squad as and when needed and appropriate. I can see some games or parts of games where Duff uses Jones as an out and out winger or in a free role in the forward 2, using his pace.
Hopefully he is over his issues with his hamstrings, because IF he can fulfil his potential (a lot haven't) then we will have a top player.
