I've heard that Neil Warnock reads these comments so I thought I'd create a thread for people to express their thanks to him. Cheers Neil and Ron for keeping us up,bringing some team spirit back and giving the supporters some hope during a bad period for the club and thanks for all you have done for us.

The end of last season ranks up there as one of my favourite periods in my 25 years following Town, which is strange really given how many promotions I've seen. We were absolutely dead and buried and within a few weeks it went from "absolutely no chance" to "surely he can't" to "haha you know what, stranger things have happened" to safe with a game to spare!
Tonight feels a lot like when Wagner left, both in terms of losing an absolute legend and also questionable timing (but there's other threads to debate that). Let's hope we make less of a pigs ear of it than we did last time.
What else to say about Warnock and Ronnie, running out of superlatives but they really deserve all the praise they get. Hope they get a proper send off on Wednesday and come visit again when the time is right.

To Neil Warnock and Rocket Ron and also good luck to whoever the new manager is. Let's stop bitching about the new man before he has actually been announced. No matter who it is they will get my full support.

Had my doubts after two back to back 4-0 defeats, secretly no one in their right mind gave us a chance then (possibly NW/RR too), sadly the way it has ended then maybe you should have gone while working for Dean, although you stuck to your guns Brian Clough style when Nagle publicly slated you recently & returned with a forearm smash which he didn't like......Honestly don't know how you did it guys, but THANKS..

For so many reasons, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Circumstances were such that it didn’t last longer but I have no doubt that had it done so then you would have brought success once more. I sincerely hope that there’s truth in the affection you express for Huddersfield because there’s a genuine and lasting affection from the fans to you. Thanks for all your efforts Neil and Ronnie, I wish you all the best.

So, if Nixon is to be believed (big if) then we could be be paying him whilst he helps keep another club up (hopefully not at our expense!)
By Alan Nixon
Neil Warnock is looking for his next managerial job - but he can take his time thanks to Huddersfield Town.
The veteran boss has already put the feelers out for potential moves but he is under no pressure as he is still being paid by the Terriers for the rest of the season.
And the agreement is that Warnock can take another post without that impacting his cash from Huddersfield on the remainder of his contract.
Warnock is also planning to catch up on some speaking engagements that he cancelled when he was unwell.

Think the American’s will be thanking him. A decent send-off and atmosphere with all 4 sides of the ground singing in his last game must have been another sign of the club’s potential.

I may be wrong but I doubt he'd be able to take another managerial position and still continue to take his Town wage. Some managers refuse to the other jobs because they're sat on a good wage doing nothing (Wagner post Young Boys) but they can't be paid by 2 clubs at the same time surely.

I know what you say is technically correct but if Town have removed Warnock whilst also continuing to paying him, and allowing him to possibly come up against us this season....well we'd be a uniquely silly club. You at least agree he doesn't continue to get paid if he takes charge of a club in the Championship.

I completely agree that would be unusual, but like I said, it's dependent on what was agreed in the beginning between Warnock and Nagle. Nagle was desperate to get Warnock on board, for however long. Maybe the wiley old Mr Warnock agreed, only if.......

I agree as there would surely be a conflict of interest if he joined another relegation threatened Championship club. There would have to be questions asked over the integrity of the result if he is being paid by both clubs if/when we played each other and surely the EFL would have something to say about that.

There would have to be questions asked over the integrity of the result if he is being paid by both clubs if/when we played each other and surely the EFL would have something to say about that. It just says his agreement is such that he can take another post without impacting the cash outstanding on the remainder of the contract and that he will be paid for the rest of the season...which could easily mean that we've paid him the full year ALREADY, it isn't correct to imply that we're going to carry on paying him on a monthly basis to the end of the season irrespective of him taking up another job. It's not a given that a manager would get their contract paid IN FULL when agreeing one or three year terms or whatever and getting the boot in shorter term...when a manager signs a one year contract, they're signing a contract that fixes their terms of employment for a year, it doesn't mean that they're going to get paid for 12 months of effort, part of that contract might include a 3 month notice period, and they'd get 3 months pay either over the next 3 months, or probably via PILON (payment in lieu of notice), and possibly with some kind of goodwill golden handshake type bonus on top. The difference it seems with Warnock is that it seems that he WILL be paid a full 12 months salary, even though he's only done 4 months of effort. Of course - given everything Neil has said, you'd think there would be NO job offers coming his way other than end of season rescue jobs anyway. (on a similar basis, Moore is on a 3 years (+) contract at Town...that doesn't mean if we sack him at Christmas he's going to pick up the remaining full outstanding contract term of £ in his pocket)
