We've had some stinkers as most clubs have, but Juventus re-signing Paul Pogba in the summer of 2022 is going to take some beating.
Ignoring how utterly shit he'd been at Man Utd, they bought him for around £70m and with wages of £131k a week, theyve received back a total of 159 minutes of Seria A action from Pogba in the season and quarter since,, meaning by the time you include agents fees etc, Juve have paid a total somewhere north of £80 million for the one assist he has managed in that time.
And that will be all theyre going to get for their money because to put the icing on the cake he has now had his failed drug test confirmed by his B test also failing and is staring down the barrel at a ban of between 2 and 4 years! Ouch!

Even with club allegiances to one side it's Jean-Kevin Augustin to Leeds. 40 million or so total outlay in transfer fee and wages, for 48 minutes of football off the bench while on loan

Emiliano Sala.
Not for his ability, VFM or anything like that, but for the unpalatable shitshow after his death.

I wonder if there’s a clause in footballers contracts that can terminate without severance if you fail a drugs test?
There won’t be, but there should be…

There won’t be, but there should be… You'd think clubs would make sure they had a clause they could trigger if a player failed a drugs offence, dont know if some have or not but it has to be in their interests.

Didn't Southampton sign a pro player's cousin years ago on a verbal recommendation from an agent when they were a top tier team?
Agree with Porro that Kwami Houdoutu is the worst signing of my Town fandom.

There won’t be, but there should be… Baseball players get docked for every day of a PED ban, but their contracts aren't affected even if they come back as a lesser player after being 'found out'.

Can remember that it was 1996-97 when Graeme souness was manager, player was Ali dia a senegalese striker supposedly on the recommendation of George Weah but later turned out to be an hoax instigated by a mate of Dia's who had made the initial call, he came on as a sub and was substituted for being rubbish.

Forgot about the guy at Leeds..actually he'd take some beating for shit signing!

The signing of Jonathan Téhoué was a bit rubbish.
Thankfully it turned out he wasn't very good anyway.

I saw him play against us, he was a nothingness of a player…tried to find out what game it was but I’m not sure! However, I did find this which cracks me up, would love to hear football managers give it as it is like that more often 😀 www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/17586020

What on earth was he? Bizarre sub appearance v Leeds I remember Made a Boris Johnson style tackle in front of the Riverside, and that was about it….the worst for me, in terms of minutes on the pitch and impact in the game In the last few seconds of that game he had the ball down by their corner flag. Instead of running the clock down he leathered it straight into their keeper's hands, giving them one last chance to try to equalise. Boneheaded.
