The whole of next season anyway. I'm no fan of Cartwright so far but that seems a bit of a wild statement. Genuine question, what is it that offends you so much about him? It appears that we are going into the season with the same team that so dramatically failed last year. Making the wrong decisions and then failing to accept that they had, and then took far too long to correctly dump DM. The January window was a very good example of poor decision making, we were around the bottom of the table in great danger of relegation and do we sign Championship ready players? The answer is a decisive NO. We finally sign two strikers, one who has been playing in Finland, which is not Championship ready competition and the other was typically for Town unfit/injured and took time to get in to the team. Other areas of the squad where we have been lacking in quality did not get addressed. It took us 11 years to get back to the Championship last time we went down so I am not expecting us to bounce straight back up, especially considering who will be making any crucial decisions. So I am not expecting any great improvement over the summer and I will watch from afar next season and maybe longer if things go as I expect.

We have no way of knowing who was willing to come to us in January given our league position and wages. Also whoever we signed needs to be long term and not just for keeping us up. I think KN, who has to find the money, will be looking at things differently now. Keep your powder dry until the end of the pre-season and see then. Not sure if you have a season ticket but you will still be able to buy one, just maybe not where you would prefer.

Has to go. If Nagle can’t see the bloke isn’t up to it then there’s a very big problem.

Kevin Nagle has stated that both Edwards and Cartwright had to re-interview for their jobs recently. Suggests that he realises that questions need to be asked, and that there is some doubt about them.
Honestly, I'm not optimistic, and if we fail next season then one or both of their positions surely becomes untenable.
The hiring of a new manager/head coach is always an interesting time, but this one in particular. We HAVE to get this right.

I'm not usually overly negative, but I am really worried about next season. The fact AB has basically said keep your money, I want out is significant. The decision makers at out club seem to be very very poor. Not just based on previous managerial changes, we're a comedy act at the moment. Whatever they sold AB for him to take the job I believe was bullshit. I'm not in full support of AB he did a poor job, I don't believe he is claiming to be too big for League 1 I just don't believe he has any faith in our leadership team. Next year will be a slog, with at least another new manager in after this next one.

Wrexham have silly money. Brum have a decent championship squad and a lot of money. Peterborough are always top end. Whichever one of Oxford and Bolton loses in the final will fancy themselves next season. If people are expecting us to take Lg1 by storm next season then I think they're in for disappointment.

The jury is still out for me on MC. I’m not sure how AB quitting is his fault? We get a coach who it appears is well qualified and has the required pedigree. The coach identifies potential problems- though there may well be an element of self preservation here- and then he clears off as he clearly sees himself above league 1. Clearly things have been going on he should know about and the signing of some players is strange but AB quitting? Not sure this is on him.

Could go now with AB departing. There is an opportunity to start again and have a fresh start at least at DoF level and manager

I am not worried about Wrexham at all, Reynolds and co will realize just how much this could cost them and let the rest of league one worry about us and not us worry about them. I am not a fan of Mr Cartwright and if the fans are not happy with the next managerial appointment, it could be good night Vienna

I was under the impression that the amount the club were getting via Netflix and various sponsorship deals was enough to blow most of the rest of the division out of the water. Happy to be corrected. ETA: Individual wealth is not that reliable an indicator of club wealth. Otherwise QPR would be regularly qualifying for the Champions League.

Wrexham’s turnover will have increased and ours reduced. They are flying and we’re currently a basket case.

Makes you wonder what was said in that interview,I can't think of a single thing he's got right. Just seems to have been a succession of really poor decisions. On signings alone the only one that looks to have promise is Healey and he wasn't available for the majority of games. He's got a much bigger job on his hands now too. That's why I think we need a manager that knows the leagues and knows the players it needs, hopefully Cartwright will listen.

They’re no better than us and the table tells the tale. We have to get this managerial appointment right and get cracking asap. As you say, Wrexham have money and momentum, other sides are well accustomed to this league Whereas we are falling and looking a bit lost. Can all change very quickly though.

A bit like Kevin really. The higher you go, the more expensive it becomes. There's never any money to be made and the club will never be sustainable, if by sustainable you mean not needing to pump in money every year.

A worse appointment than Moore if such a thing were possible. I’d have changed my senior team but maybe that’s all Nagel has to cling to in terms of his knowledge of the English game, which does not auger well.

I’ve never jumped on the Cartwright is to blame for everyone’s life issues from weather, colour of corner flags …
I never thought it was fair to judge him last summer
Delayed takeover etc - and in that role you need planning months in advance
But no excuses this summer - should have had plenty contingencies for manager, transfer planning in each division. scenario. AB sorted early not 3w before the season like when Carlos quit and screwed us over. Edwards & Cartwright have to get it right, no excuses to hide behind.

Derby, Pompey, and if Bolton go up, it will be a poor division with the likes of Crawley or Crewe going up. Birmingham and us surely are the big guns but we seem to be acting like we have water pistols. Hate to sound like a broken record but chuff me, it’s time we hammered a division and really gave us a season to be talking about for decades to come. Step up new manager, new players, let’s see what you’re made of.

I just can see us as big guns unless KN finds a lot of money to get rid of a lot of players and sign some quality without running foul of any fair play rules.

We can disagree on AB, I'm open to being proven wrong but I dont believe this delay was about a pay off. AB likely told Nagle he wanted out and tbe delay in announcing this was so Nagle could get a jump on finding a replacement. Completely agree on Nagle needing to change his senior team. I believe this is currently main issue at our club. Our squad is laughable and we need to have confidence in those tasked with building a squad capable of doing the job next season. Without those changes, regardless of who the manager is I will remain doubtful.
