Hmmm, I wonder how Aaron’s back is feeling now he’s had a break from football? 🤔 Bringing in Dean Whitehead was the catalyst for what came later with Mooy. He was seen as a bit of a journeyman at tail end of his career, but regularly bossed the midfield. A class above the rest. That's what we need right now. Unfortunately, with old pros, for every Deano there's a Jason Puncheon after one last pay day! Aaron wouldn’t do a JP, he’d just say no if he couldn’t do it anymore. At the end of the day, sometimes old people don’t realise they are past it and need a tap on the shoulder, usually it’s that retirement scares them.

I notice Palace have bid 18m for Adam Wharton who scored against us for Blackburn 2 weeks ago.
When I see things like this, it really grates me how we let LOB and Toff leave for a combined amount of 11m?
When selling our assets, we need to be firmer.
Cue the cheese puns....

2 phrases come to mind: "There are lies, there are damned lies and then there are statistics." & "Correlation does not equal causation" Personally I'd suggest that was little more than a statistical quirk (from a small sample size). I'd be interested to see who else was on the pitch for those games vs others, and who we were up against. Wiles in particular does not pass "the eye test", and whilst I'd accept that there are things he does well that tend to go unnoticed, he has offered very little so far. Hogg, Matos & Rudoni could (and should!) work well, as could switching Kasumu into there for one of them, depending upon how we set up. A pre-injury Ben Wiles would probably be in our best XI, but we don't have one of those. Whether we have anything like again is something that time will tell, but I'm not confident that we'll see that this season. There may be an element of that, but I do think, that those 3 (if all playing well) create the best balance, as they all offer something a bit different. I think you'd also get similar with Matos, Wiles, Rudoni, or Kasumu, Wiles, Rudoni. The problem with Matos, Hogg and Rudoni for me, is that Hogg and Matos are both sitting too deep. While Matos hasn't done a lot wrong, I think Rudoni and Hogg both look better when playing with Wiles, even if Wiles is clearly a bit below par for whatever reason. I see no reason why Matos couldn't go forward when required TBH.

Longer contract (I think?). January transfer. And younger for a start. But having seen him twice, I’m really not sure what they see for ~£20m.

Hasn't Kev said in a tweet there is little chance of anymore signings ?
Is that accurate or is there still a chance of 1 or 2 more ?

He was variously described as a midfielder, a winger, a number 10 before we signed him. Maybe he's another one who has been played out of position under DM.

Whilst KN has said there will be no more incomings, do we think there will be any outgoings before the deadline?
I think Diarra will go. I'd like to see Tom Iorpenda get a loan. And I have a horrible feeling that if the injury is not too bad, Helik may leave tomorrow, especially as Pearson is back from injury and Yuta will be back within the next couple of weeks.

Current squad: Balker, Bellagambi, Burgzorg, Chapman, Edwards, Headley, Healey, Helik, High, Hogg, Hudlin, Jackson, Kasumu, Koroma, Lees, Matos, Maxwell, Nakayama, Nicholls, Pearson, Radulovic, Rudoni, Ruffels, Thomas, Turton, Ward, Wiles, 27 there before any more incomings, so we need to get rid of another 2 out of the 25 (3 if we get another signing in), otherwise we're paying players that have no chance of getting a game for the rest of the season.

Turton won't be registered, just let him try and get himself fit for next season. Not sure we'll register F. Scott High, he's about 6th or 7th choice and recovering from injury at the moment. I know we've got a couple of injuries at the moment, but do we need 4 registered goalkeepers? Can't the 4th choice be someone U21 instead of Bellagambi, assuming Chapman and/or Maxwell are almost fit.

I imagine they're trying to find a loan for Bellagambi. Assume the Turton news has meant we're keeping hold of Edwards as cover (god help us).

I am thinking selling Diarra may trigger moves for us, free up some cash so to speak.
I do not expect any of the bigger names in the squad to go , with so little time left, it would be relegation sucide doing it . Nagle has said , when he arrived that the club does not need to sell players and will only do so when the situation suits everyone, that includes us as a club. Therefore i would expect the club to stand firm if any bids were to come in. Plus in the process of appointing a new manager and you start selling key players they may have a plan for is daft.

Mentioned him in Summer, Joe Gauci from Adelaide United. Looks like he’s going to Aston Villa, this to me was an easy flip if we could have got him in the summer, sold Nichols, invested that money in the squad and we’d then have a future premier league player in goals. Simple 🤷♂️😂

Harratt? Website indicates birthday 21st June 2002 so he would have been 21 at the start of this season but I'm not aware when the cut off point is to be classed as U21.
