I really hope that Moore has learned a thing or two from yesterday. Not just about the performance, but how the fans will respond to some intent and be very forgiving when it's shown. This backs to the wall, everyone behind the ball stuff was never, ever going to go down well and unfortunately he has made his own bed in his first 10+ games, and he now has an uphill battle to win over the majority of our fanbase. But, as mentioned above, we are a very amenable and forgiving bunch - another 5-10 performances like that and he'll be on the right track. I have serious doubts over his charisma and intelligence to be a successful Town manager but let's hope that his tactical game can improve from here. Doubts over his charisma, god he hasn't got any! One only needs to have watched yesterdays post match interview. Got to agree, if he addresses the squad like that we have a problem!

Minor point I know, but Blackburn won the toss and did what 90+% teams have done here in the last 30 seasons - chose to play towards their own fans in the second half. QPR and Southampton did the same. Two wins, one draw for us. Town have won the toss (or the opposition chose to play the other way) 5 times and we have three draws and two (abject) defeats. Hope Boro win the toss. Even more minor; my mate pointed out that we haven't lost to a team beginning with Q to W (W4, D5) and yesterday was the first win against any team beginning with B to P - at the 15th attempt. Quite extraordinary. I was just glad we finally played the right way round again Agreed, but unless DM changes his policy, we will play the wrong way again on Friday if we win the toss. I don't think that QPR, Southampton or Blackburn - when we lost the toss - battered us in the first few minutes like Cardiff, Bristol City and Preston did when we chose to play the wrong way and we never recovered in two of those games. As my mate - the Q to W genius - said, we're playing the wrong way to disrupt the opposition and all it seems to be doing is disrupting us. Could it be that, psychologically, the away team is starting better because it's playing towards its own fans? Anyway, we finally beat a team that starts with a letter B to P, so maybe we'll win a home game when playing to the 'wrong' end.

How can they? He doesn’t know what he’s doing at times! Yep! I think I said that before... how can the opposition guess what he's going to do when he doesn't even know himself. That was always Collin's secret weapon. Feel like Hudlin could be similar, looks like Bambi on ice but surprisingly good with his feet (and shit in the air)

My takings from the match,
1) Blackburn were the 2nd worse team to play at the stadium this season, the first being ourselves. 2) Nice to see some pressing finally. 3) Nakayama makes such a difference to us getting the ball out of defence effectively. 4) We missed Rudoni more than I realised. 5) Kasumu as a "wing back" is quite enjoyable he defends well and is willing to take the ball and carry it. 6) Delano is a match winner, will frustrate you at times, but has scored the same amount of goals as Ward did last season or close too it, in half the time. Buy him! 7) Still to be convinced by Thomas this season, light weight, poor control, wasteful with set pieces, while it's nice to seem him press from the front there isn't enough quality in his all round game this season.

Sorba Thomas is doing well this season but was clumsy as fuck for most of the first half, couldn't seem to control or keep the ball.He improved and I was pleased for him to score, long may it continue. This seem to afflict a few players yesterday, we usually are clumsy in possession at the best of times, but yesterday the ball was flying all over ghe place when certain players had it, Thomas being one, Wiles too and Headley with Rudoni and Burgzog not immune either. True just thought he was the most obvious yesterday

Just watched the game again on ifollow. A few points. 1. It's not just Delano Bergzorg, Headley and Rudoni, Thomas and Kasumu... they all are confident enough to take on a man in one-to-ones. It doesn't always come off, but it's so different to the pass-pass-pass style of most teams in this division. 2. Sorba Thomas made a very important contribution to the team yesterday and was somewhat overlooked. 3. Their CB Carthorse or was it Carter, could have been sent off for that tackle from behind on Burgzorg. He would have been in the PL. 4. They really didn't know what to do with Bergzorg did they? How can they? He doesn’t know what he’s doing at times! He does have a bit of Quanner about him.

I wonder what the Bburn fans thought yesterday. Thought it was a bit daft how the BBC write up was banging the "Sorba Thomas scores against his old club" line, as if he'd spent years there rather than a few months on loan. Not that I expect much from the beeb these days

Well now - Things ran a little later for me than planned yesterday probably due to a Christmas Day party night shift in The Lounge here in the family home till 6am on Boxing Day so by the time I got back from Inveraray and leaving the niece the footy had finished but I’d taped sky soccer Saturday and started going thru it at 5.30pm and wow Town take the lead (but they also did in the game I was at v Bristol City and we all know the usual outcome when Town take the lead)...
Then Jeez - Two bloody Nil - My My My, but still this is HTAFC and would it be enough or not -
And then Three and easy and an excited (probably in shock at seeing Town 3-0 up) Lindsay Hooper reporting from The home of Huddersfield with a smile on her face to match the big grin on ma big coupen !
Still had a wee job to do driving mama mia to the hospital to visit her sis and thereafter it was the next day of the banquet munchy (which ma sister got on to me for spelling it ‘bank quit’ in a drunken Thank You text to her at 6am the previous morning) and then more of The Jura Bourbon Cask (There ain’t much left but I’m not going home empty handed as I’ve a bottle of Tamnavullin from my sister to try on Hogmanay and New Year ! 🥃 😊
But what a good win and what a great feeling indeed - Ok, lets not get carried away, it’s a long and arduous slog ahead but my goodness that was a nice Christmas present to compliment a fine bottle of malt whisky over two days !
Well done Darren and The Players and Thank Yous for giving me a nice Boxing Day after a really nice family Christmas ! 👍 👍 👍

Good win, played well, albeit against a side in poor form and who looked very much a team in poor form. Not that that’s to take anything away or try be negative, you can only beat what’s in front of you as they say. Like a few have said wiles played well,I’d picked up bits in games to say he’s a good player but it was very small bits and generally had been poor, was that down to injuries, quite possibly. Also he’s only ever been at Rotherham so may have taken some time to settle in with two managers in a short space of time also not helping. Noticeably more men in the box when we got forward without looking too open at the back,Kasumu and headley both been fairly quick may help with that,as well as possibly Blackburn been poor on the counter on the day. Burgzorg is weirdly a player I personally struggle to like as there is a bit of a lack of consistency, within games even and he doesn’t seem to do the basics right. That said he was unplayable at times yesterday and he is starting to do less of the selfish stuff and he’s probably the only player in the side with that bit of a spark. He’s also in good form so I’m onboard. He’s tracking towards getting 10 goals if he can stay fit, which I would say is a decent return for a player who seems more a natural wide forward and who’s missed games, plus throw in he’s playing in a team that attacking wise at best generally struggles. Was good to see Hogg playing more forward passes though a couple were wayward when trying to switch the play.It will help having rudoni and wiles making both been available for the pass. Hopefully we can follow it up Friday with something positive before playing away at essentially two premier league teams.

Anyone who was there is just pleased to have watched us have a go and get the win, 3 goals being a bonus. We all know we have a difficult season ahead of us but positivity on and off the field can only be a good thing.

Just moving 30 yards up the pitch makes all the difference. 4, 5 players on or around the half way line harrassing their back line and closing down the keeper , and the back 3,4,5 whatever pushed up too condensing the spaces. It was very evident when we dropped back to our 'normal' style later in the game. We did something similar at Sunderland, pushed higher up the pitch and hassled them leaving Sunderland not knowing what to do and being booed off the pitch by their own fans 1st half..DM abandoned that style for the next 5 games (3 points) for some unknown reason but the 2 times we've done it we've won both..
So, what will he do tomorrow..has he learned a lesson or will we revert to type and conced 80% of the pitch and possession again ?

Dear Detox, and others who opine likewise. You do realise the opponent is trying to impose their own gameplan on us and it’s not a case of deciding what Town will do then, as in the jobs most of us do, applying the strategy?
I’m sure every manager would like to provide all out attack for their fans but that’s where their experience and football nous comes in to the equation. If you have a thin squad, you have to consider the opponents likely response to your own gameplan.
When Moore set us up for a point at home to Watford in November, the subs bench provided us (and Watford) with a clue. He could have ignored the paucity of resource available to him and gone all out for the win. If that had ended like the Cardiff match he wouldn’t have looked too clever. Watford’s form since (until Boxing Day!) shows what a decent side they are and perhaps a point represented a good result in the circumstances.
With more resource available against Blackburn he achieved our biggest win of the season. Let’s give him time and stop allowing personal emotion to cloud the situation.
