Makes more sense in the short term than the long term.
Long term, it might have been better for his development to keep getting first team football in the SPL.
Short term, well we needed a RB and he comes back as an option in that position, with some first team experience under his belt. Plus, he's U21 so he doesn't count towards the squad limit.
Depends how much he's developed whether I'm happy with this.
Also possible that he's been recalled to give him another loan somewhere.

...seems well rated from Twitter comments :
'Smashing player . Big loss for sure'
'Aww that’s not so good, we will miss him in our squad! Best of luck Brodie and thanks for all your hard work for us! Wish we weren’t losing you tbh'
'A big loss in my opinion'
'Nooooooooooo..... gutted'
'Yeah he’s done well for us, started off playing at left back initially and did very well and then we moved him over to the right hand side and he was doing ok there as well, he became an important part of our side'

On another thread someone else mentioned that he'd played for us this season already and you can only play for 2 teams. So he can't go anything else on loan. The same poster also mentioned the winter break in Scotland is now on until almost the end of Jan. So in theory, he could come back to us for a few weeks, train, maybe play and then if we don't think we'll use him, send him back to Motherwell for the rest of the season.

If the loan's done him enough good to improve his level sufficiently from when he was last with us, then brilliant, we get a long term solution at right back. If he can't make an impact, the club will have interfered with a promising player's development when he would've benefited more staying at his loan club. Hopefully he'll be this season's version of Jaheim Headley.

Would assume the top level in Scotland, with a decent team, is reasonably similar to a lower end shit Championship scenario.....I imagine he will be here to stay, just wonder if first choice or backup when all are fit....

Am I right in saying Scott High has made just 2 appearances on his loan out?

Anyone would think this is a new signing. He looks very sluggish...hopefully just short term.

Even if it gives us a defender on the bench that can play either side he is a useful addition. We don’t have that now. Same can probably be said of Rhodes, though it wouldn’t be his choice I would have thought.

Anyone would think this is a new signing. He looks very sluggish...hopefully just short term. Unless he's had injuries whilst in Scotland, I believe he's one of, if not, the quickest players on our books! You could certainly question his experience and quality, but I'm not sure pace is something he's short of.

Presumably its a recall...........have a look for a week or two and either he makes the squad or is sent out again on loan if not deemed suitable for us this season.

The only place he can go is Motherwell and they will need to get that position sorted. Given how poor our bench is he will be a pretty experienced addition.

Motherwell have a mid season break now, no league game until 27th January. So in theory we could play him in a couple of league games and then send him back if we wanted to, and he wouldn't miss any league games for Motherwell.

I've seen nothing from him to suggest he is anywhere near ready for this level. I'm not sure starting a highlights reel with shielding a ball out for a goal kick is a good idea, doesn't exactly fill you with hope for what's to come in the rest of the clip

FFS don't give Big Dave ideas, he already thinks JK is a wing back 🫣 Edit : Bollocks, Tinpot beat me to it

You are right, Jackson can play bth those, but I would expect him to start once he is back fit.

TBF I'm a massive pedant and if there is ever a way to passive aggressively deliberately misinterpret something I'm going to find it.
