Isn’t Dr Pepper a version of root beer? Seem to remember root beer from the PX in Hamburg tasted similar to Dr Pepper or is that some kind of sacrilege to suggest Justasmithers I guess sasparilla would be the closest thing to root beer. A&W, Barq’s, Mug, but also funny enough quite a few “craft” root beers. Dr. Pepper, which I enjoy on occasion, has a unique undertone, once rumored to be a splash of prune juice (since debunked). Honestly one of my favorite drinks is a nice glass of ice water spiked with tropical punch flavored kool-aid concentrate, which I expect isn’t a thing over here We've been concentrating fruit juices from across the Empire for 200 years, Dave The category is "Squash & Cordials".

I first went to the US in 81, I was just over the legal drinking age in most States, and the beer was almost universally carbonated water you could drink in vast quantities without much effect. Then we were playing pool with some lads who asked if we wanted to go out for a smoke, which was a really odd request to our ears (long before smoking was banned in pubs), until they explained what they meant. Weed was far more popular as recreation than their piss poor beer. Nowadays, I wouldn’t advise anybody to try drinking US craft beers to excess - the ABV is brutal (it’s nice enough, just a bit flat for me). Reminds me of the time my dad went on exercise to Canada in the 80s Them n a load of Canadian squaddies went south to drink with some Yank squaddies, American guys bragging about how much they could drink until the Brits n Canadians brought out proper beer they’d brought with them Every single US squaddie was under the table 😂 This sort of reminds me of the time I was in Vancouver with some army buddies (were there on a 4 day r&r from exercises in Wainwright Alberta in 1978) If I remember rightly the bars shut all day in Canada? Well they did in Vancouver anyway, so we ended up driving down to Seattle with some Canadians that we were staying with, just to get a few beers! Think it took about 3 hours to get there. The things you do in your youth eh ?

The things you do in your youth eh ? I think you're correct about the bars shutting at weird times. My dad did say they went down because there wasn't anywhere open, I just assumed they were drinking too early or too late out of hours kind of thing, like typical squaddies; anytime, anywhere, any excuse for a bevvy Edit: It was mainly the bit about USMC guys boasting about their drinking prowess and then getting outsupped that made me remember the tale

Those designs aren’t to my taste, maybe it’s time for a refresh on the manufacturers front. Why anyone would buy training kit at those prices too is beyond me.

Pardon my ignorance. Is root beer the same as (apologies for spelling) as sarsaparilla? Used to get it in the indoor market in the 60s.Welcome back Dave. That brings back memories, we used to call it Dr danns.

Maybe duncfost01 can enlighten us? Whatever the reasons and contents of said tweets, personal insults in public are never a good look. Plus BAFTA’s and ARIA’s are for different industries so as a radio presenter, he wouldn’t be in line for one. 🫢 🤷🏼♂️

The guy is an embarrassment to Town fans everywhere.
What next? The grandfather inviting unknowns to have it out in box 17?
One day somebody will take him up on his offer and knock some sense into him.

I think it's fair to say if you pick a scab long enough, there will be pain, it will bleed. Sometimes I shake my head at people who cry and whinge when they get their arses handed to them on a plate after they've been baiting others incessantly. Folk need to realise that once they put a comment, a rant, a photo out on the web that's it, you can't remove it. You need the patience of a Saint when people are taking shots at you over the toilets having no soap, the beer being flat or the meat and potato pies selling out before half-time. (The last one is criminal btw)
