Watching football used to be such a simple thing. Ticket, wallet, fags, off we go. Now you have to remember the fireworks and class A drugs too. Oh, and the fruits of the forest vape that makes everybody smell like a sweet shop.

What's that got to do with a football match? What I am trying to say if you get a group of lads together some times you do the stupid of things it's life, no one was hurt was they. Maybe the army toughened me up and not to take life too seriously. The whataboutery is unreal, I'd be fuming if a bag of someones vomit that could carry disease and infection landed on me or my kids. Comparing things that have no relevance doesn't make things okay, just because it's "acceptable" somewhere else. They're Scruffs.

There’s having a laugh and just plain doing the wrong thing. If this is correct it beggars belief , why would you do that to your own fans. Would quite happily see the culprit get arrested and banned for an incident like this or even better a good hiding. Pathetic .

I don't think sniffer dogs at football are for drugs, they're trained to detect pyro flare things. They must be because although its got worse the coke crew were at it during our time in the premier league and there were usually sniffer dogs outside away ends.

Used to go to around 9 or 10 away games every season until the last 2 or 3 years. Partly because every home game feels like an away game for me now, but I also got sick of the gangs of utter cretins we seem to have following us about , particularly since the PL days. Little shits with no respect for anyone. Had more than one run in when some spotty teenager decided to throw his lager over me in the name of fun and got sick of it. If Town are away Im far more likely to go and watch Darlo or Spennymoor.

Reading all this has just reminded me what my mate was telling me the day after we play7ed Man City. He said, have you heard about the new hooligan firm at Town, they are called the Schooligans, i hadn't heard of them but they were up for it at Manchester apparently. I fecking hate drugs in all its forms and these coked up whipper snappers need bringing down to earth big time, like others have said use sniffer dogs at the games.

Normally I like your posts, the army life gives people like yourself a perspective of accepting lads will be lads but also it should give you a bigger picture of respecting and having the backs of those around you. The arsehole who threw the sick bag is just that and it’s beyond unacceptable, the poor town fans who it landed on , they could easily be grandparents or children. I’m surprised you’re not condoning them also. I’m at an age where I don’t wish to get arrested at a football match and serve a ban, but if I had witnessed someone throwing a sick bag at my elder parents or kids I don’t care how big they were they wouldn’t of seen the rest of the game .

The problem at the moment is that there are groups of young lads who know they can go to a game (like Blackburn) behave badlly and the police are not interested. I can give you a few examples from Saturday. We got off the train in Blackburn and their were a few stewards around telling people which way to go. One lad gave them massive verbal abuse including the f word about 3/4 times. The 2 police stood 2 yards away did nothing. After the game there were about a couple of hundred kids on station plTform shouting, swearing to Blackburn fans on opposite platform. It was clear this behaviour was going to continue on the train. There were 6/8 police stood by the steps who apart from thinking it was funny did nothing and none of them got on the train. The police simply weren’t interested.

Years a go, the Bobbies would have given these unruly school boys a jolly good bunch of fives. If one of these school boys vomited on my Harris Tweed jacket at a match, i would get his name and address and send him the bill when it's been cleaned. You don't get this problem with the rough chaps who watch Rugby.

Attempted to get up to my seat at around 2.45, but for some reason there was an absolute sea of people (mainly kids) stood on the steps - no idea why when everyone had a ticket. At first I thought it was a bit of a nostalgic throwback, then I realised that it was extremely unsafe and quickly moved. Not a clue why the stewards weren't doing anything. One steward tried at half time, and soon after, to get all the Year 11 Stone Island crew to shift but was basically laughed at by them When one moaned to me (I had an end of row seat) that they had no room, my suggestion of looking g at their ticket and then sitting in the allocated seat fell on deaf ears.

Not being a ‘youngster’ anymore, what are the kids on these days?? Are they just pissed or is it something else? They’re definitely not ‘loved up’ on E’s..! Seems to be more than just booze to me…. Definitely coke, it's everywhere. As someone has already said, it's got much worse since lockdown Aye, the queue for the sniffers was a lot.longer than the queue for the urinals.

From what I have seen at Blackburn, Leeds, Wednesday, Hull the police are ok with this behaviour, if they weren’t they would have taken action. All the incidents I have seen involve police within at least 5/10 yards and no action taken.

Got to love the comments in here making out like twattish behaviour at footy is a recent thing.
I'll freely admit I wasn't there to experience it first hand, but I've read/seen/heard enough from the 80's to know full well that nothing that happens at matches today comes close to the carnage that went on back then. You're puddled if you think blokes weren't going to matches on the marching powder in the decade where you couldn't move for the stuff.

Can't believe how many are trying to defend the little scrotes and giving them excuses. It's not funny in the slightest. 'Squaddies do worse', they need to mature up a bit then too.
Guaranteed, if it happened to you, you wouldn't stand there and laugh would you? The immature twats want banning.

Let’s be honest, whoever did it is likely mentally ill, they threw it in the wrong end for a start……lucky it wasn’t a grenade, which it may have been had they been in the army

Total lack of respect too, things were far from perfect in the past but chucking beer and even worse things over fellow fans, families, kids, OAPs?! I'm sorry but I don't think that happens years ago, yes you could quite easily end up getting battered, which isn't great either but there was more respect for fellow fans and a level of basic human decency. One of the big problems is lack of consequence, some of the sentences for football violence are massively out of proportion IMO but seems like the lower level anti social behaviour just gets ignored. The coke obviously doesn't help, possibly time it got policed properly. Probably wouldn't take much to make most people think twice about taking it into the ground and disappearing into the bogs for a snort. Honestly I know the football is shit at the moment but are they doing taking narcotics at a football match!?! Save it for Saturday night!
