On their board they seem to think its sour grapes from Town fans. Hope he's successful but I worry for them I think that comment came from PortugalTerrier; not seen on here since Moore left, so perhaps he’s now a Port Vale fan and continuing to swear blind allegiance to Moore; anything other than praise for Moore is heresy! He was still out of his depth in the Championship though. He knew league 1 was his level, which is why he didn't hold out for a Championship club and took the first league 1 job on offer. The fact he got a league 1 team promoted doesn't disprove anything I've said, does it? 🤔 The fact that JW has shown a plan in just two games tells us all we need to know. Awful manager - Moore - stealing a living. JW didn't seem to have much plan the other day when he needed one. He's basically done what all good caretaker managers do... Come in and said 'come on lads, let's just go for it and have a go' which is basically what teams do in cup games against the big boys. They aren't sticking to any expected disciplines or tactics so the other team find it hard to get organised and predict what they will do. Usually ends up with a goal or two and just depends if the team throws as much into defence as attack. I don't doubt that JW has done a good job getting the lads going but over a season you can't just throw the kitchen sink at them every game, I'll be surprised if the lads aren't still knackered from Saturday when we play tomorrow.

And I didn’t see much of one after in honesty, it was kinda handed to us on a plate. We just took it for once.

Well unless Robbie Williams puts his hand in his pocket. Let me entertain you. Couldn't be far from that with DM.

And yes. Knackered. Because they were, you could see they were. There's a difference between playing normally and being asked to hunt down and sprint for every single ball. You only had to see how much they were overlapping and moving out of position to get to everything. Southampton didn't expend the same energy and they kept coming later on.

I see this complaint a lot (usually in my country) and find it funny (not just the terrible spelling). This is a privately owned website open to the public not a public space. Freedom of speech isn't applicable. They will have policies for why they ban/suspend accounts but there is no legal right for you to spout drivel here. Realistically, the admins can have you banned or suspended for just being annoying. Yeah, they made the same claims when they organised the witchhunt that saw the legend known as Nickthehuddster frog marched off. Sad days. "freedom of speach" you couldn't make it up! Classic Are you still wanking yourself daft over him 🙄🙄🙄

? Darren Moore, who was responsible for us playing some of the most dire stuff I’ve ever seen any Town side play, has got himself another job just 2 weeks after being fired! And a 5.5 year contract to boot!! Genuinely stunned, the Vale board needed only to take a look on datm and x to see what we thought of his style of football. Feel for the Vale fans as to what’s in store, zero entertainment on the pitch and incoherent nonsense off it. Vale fans seem to be enthusiastic from a brief look on their forum. They don't seem to even bothered if they get relegated to L2 on the basis that Moore will bring them straight back up. www.onevalefan.co.uk/forum/topic/61430-new-manager-is/page/137/#comments

Back on topic…
Choosing the next manager is proving to be very hard because, in my opinion, the only person who knows anything about the Championship, even English football at all, is Cartwright.
Edwards and Nagle trusted him to make the right managerial appointment, but he got that one wrong and cost the club / Nagle millions.
So now it’s selection by committee, but the other two are clueless, and understandably they’re being ultra cautious and taking forever, which has its own dangers.
I fear this whole saga isn’t going to end well.

Nagle is a clever fellow, made billions, you have to trust him, any manager is a gamble, they either fail and move on, or they work wonders, then leave 2 years down the line, then you start again.

We can't really be too indignant about them wanting to disregard his "poisoned chalice" spell at "basket case" Huddersfield - we'd be the same. Although "12 managers in 5 years!" is a bit of a liberty given 5 were caretakers. Still fairly "bonkers" nonetheless 😄

Your post sounded like you were defending Moore. Apologies if that isn’t what you intended. However, I don’t agree about their “energy”. They are professional footballers. If they can’t run their arses off for 90 minutes then something is wrong. Maybe they didn’t need to be as fit playing for Moore. Ie all they had to do was look after the very small part of the pitch that Moore wanted them to play in. Remember Wagners first game ? We lost 2-0 but we all saw a plan. Being fit enough to run your bollox off for 90 minutes is the bare minimum.

Let me entertain you. Couldn't be far from that with DM. Yeah, but he was a nice fella. I've asked this before and no-one has ever explained it. Why was he considered such a nice fella? Seriously? Just came across as dull and full of cliches and never seemed to appreciate supporters. If he was THAT nice he would never have subjected us to Hull City away.

As said 5 & half year deal is madness especially for Moore. I was surprised we didn't announce anyone before the Southampton game. I do think we need to make an announcement this week as games are getting less and less Only the gullible fall for manager contact lengths. Remember Pards at Toon? Eight years !! A notice period is in most contracts, or a break clause. In DMs case I believe it was 12 months.

Brilliant podcast with their goalie coach at the time, Andy Woodman told the story of how the 8 year contracts came about, and how a sports lawyer told him to sign the contract immediately and get sacked as there's a full payout in there! Edit - assume Pards won't have got the full payout as he chose to leave to Palace, but would have got a full payout if he'd been sacked.

I can’t remember or find the post above somewhere about the players maybe been knackered after the weekend and it showing tomorrow. And worthy not doing anything amazing. I said the other day there were tactical things he did that were decent.we did make errors though in defence and they brought on quality. The high press he’s asked for yes may lead to players been tired. There is a world where that is the case yes.however it’s been largely 2 game weeks since January.they should be fairly fresh, also the squad is pretty much the strongest it’s been, certainly when burgzorg, ward and Helik are back.So it can be rotated. I do agree that if worthy had took over mid November going into December that employing this approach in games may have been a much harder task though.

No but our old one has just been announced as Port Vale manager. At least that should limit Kev’s manager payout bill a bit. Although I’d imagine he’d be a lot less at Vale. Five and a half year contract. Wow. Looks like they bought into the process - and expect it to be a long one.
