Lee Carsley but probably wouldn't come to us. He's just rejected (I think) ROI job, as he could be in line for England job after Southgate. Pathways and all that. It's what I heard, could be completely wrong on that though.

Van Nistelrooy (got no chance) or Jokanovic.
All jokes aside, it needs to be a big name which has a clear plan and identity. Time for Kev to get fans on side with an appointment which is exciting.

Michael Duff is speaking to them at moment apparently. Thats not to say its imminent but he is in talks. Very uninspiring if correct. Totally - which makes it a lot more likely than some of the names mentioned above given this is Town we are talking about...!!

Will Still has Reims challenging for Europe. Why the hell would he come here? Was just going to ask the very same. Seems to be a very unrealistic target, even if an exciting one. Has he got his coaching badges yet?

Which is why Reims kept getting fined for every game he was in charge, and ultimately winning. Will Still is as good if not better than Graham Potter in my view. PS for those who may question his impact (being a long term vision) read below. "Still got off to a brilliant start as Reims head coach, not losing any of his first 14 games in all competitions. His unbeaten run in the league reached 17 games as Reims tried to push for a European spot."

We do know we support Huddersfield Town at the bottom of the Championship? Heckingbottom has just taken a not so great Sheffield United team to the Premier League where the owners actually sold players on promotion. Now we think it’s uninspiring and should be aiming higher? Have a we adopted some self entitled Leeds fans along the way? I don’t think anyone is belittling the achievements of Heckingbottom, but let’s not get carried away and start painting him as someone who took a poor side to the top against all expectations. For context, United had just been relegated from the PL and had retained most of their squad, including Ndiaye who they have since sold for over £20m. It was a squad that should have been pushing for promotion and full of talent. Depsite that, they played dreary, albeit effective football, and there were times throughout the season where the Blunts’ fans were not impressed and calling for a change. The message is we want to build a brand of attacking football and Heckingbottom doesn’t fill that brief, even with a talented squad at his disposal. He’s a steady pair of hands, no doubt. But we want to be inspired. We want charisma. We want to be excited. That’s why he’s, to some, uninspiring. We’re tired and so very jaded. Give us some life. And the players evidently need someone to respect.

This has been on the cards for weeks, if not months. I'd be surprised if we haven't already sounded out potential candidates? Cards???!! 3 month ban

Very uninspiring if correct. His limitations were exposed at Swansea. I don't agree, he wasn't given long enough and the fans were on his back from the start. He proved his worth at both Cheltenham and Barnsley. However his only managerial experience in The Championship is the first half of this season at Swansea. If Huddersfield are relegated and looking for a new man in six months time then Duff should be top of the list. Right now, unexciting though he might appear, Hecky is probably the one to steer clear of the drop.

Darren Moore Got 1.15 Points Per Game in Charge. Paul Heckingbottom's best return so far was his stint at Sheffield where he achieved a return of 1.65 Points per game, he had a good side that year with better players than we currently have available. The big if, is can he achieve anywhere near that again if given the Town job. If so it would leave us on 56 points come the end of the season which is three points above where we ended up last season. If more likely he were to get around 1.40 points per game then it would have us on 51 points and it would be squeaky bum time for sure. The club may view him as being a safe pair of hands in the short term but every manager we have had since Wagner has turned out to be relatively short term due to the lack of investment towards the end of Phil/Dean's reign in charge. Hopefully we get one more quality addition on the left wing before the window closes, if so I think we will be OK. Heckingbottom's football would not take long to learn as it is essentially the same as Moores, with the only difference being he seems to put players in their preferred positions, if that is the case then I see know reason why we would not start moving up the table. If Moore had got 1.15 points per game we'd be 8 points clear of the relegation zone and he'd still be employed.

I hope it’s not a rushed job
If there’s a competent caretaker to see us though this season (we now have a good squad) I’ll take that

Very uninspiring if correct. His limitations were exposed at Swansea. To be fair, he was a weird appointment for Swansea to make. Swansea have always played a certain style of football & appointed managers to continue that strategy. Duff just ain't that. I suspect he might be a decent fit for us though. Or maybe he's just a lower level manager. Given some of the names mentioned I think we could do a lot worse.

I'm reserving judgement until Castlehillterrier says it's someone completely different, then we'll know it's Heckingbottom.
