A work colleague's brother works at Canalside. This morning's text said to stick a tenner on Heckingbottom. Make of that what you will.

Michael Duff impressed me whilst at Cheltenham both on and off the pitch. Not sure what went wrong at Barnsley for him, but I thought he was a good up and coming manager a couple of seasons ago. Intelligent bloke as well, as least his press conferences would be worth listening to.

Van Nistelrooy (got no chance) or Jokanovic. All jokes aside, it needs to be a big name which has a clear plan and identity. Time for Kev to get fans on side with an appointment which is exciting. Heckingbottom is a big name. Not many bigger in the game I reckon. Heckingbottom's Huddersfield: we'll get some great songs out of that.

Based on that summary I am all in on Baumgart despite having never heard of him 2 minutes ago! It's a movement. isleofmanterrier get him added to the poll and let's get it going Sounds perfect, it is a shame the board and director of football won't have anywhere near as much ambition or vision to see this is the kind of appointment the club needs to get going again.

Edwards' line about someone to make an immediate impact and align with our long term strategy suggests a good appointment. Although they were similar positive words about bringing in Moore! Nagle has invested in players this month so I'd like to think he's being ambitious in bringing in the right person. Of the names mentioned, Cooper would be the best bet although I can't see him dropping to the bottom of the Championship again. To be honest I'm pessimistic about the ability of Cartwright to pick the right manager. Hope to be proved wrong. I dislike Steve Cooper but need to put that aside. The question is where were Forest when he became their manager in September 2021 so it maybe something that he feels confident about (seen that you did say again) Was Graham Potter on the list? Almost certainly out of our budget but noticed where he started his managerial career - in Farsley. Hoping to be happy as I head back to journey home 5pm on Saturday. It's the fact he wears flat caps, will fit right in

No option for Wilfried Nancy? Maybe a chance with the US link?

Intelligent bloke as well, as least his press conferences would be worth listening to. What "went wrong for him at Barnsley" was unfairly losing the play-off final to Moore's Massive. Swansea came in for him in the summer and their fans never took to his direct style of play.

For everyone voting for Heckingbottom, he plays a 3-5-2/5-3-2 which is clearly a formation that does not use our talents in the right way.
I’d prefer a manager that plays a 4 at the back that can use Sorba on the wing as well as our new forwards.

That alone would be a deal-breaker were it up to me (I quite like him on the whole though)

All I ask is that whoever recommended Moore be absolutely nowhere the decision making process this time. That would be Warnock then 😂🤣😂🤣

I'd like us to avoid the same old names... Gio Van Bronkhurst has been out of work for a while. Someone of that ilk...

Where's this myth come from that Heckingbottom doesn't play attacking football?
In our promotion season, Barnsley were the 6th highest scorers in the division and scored more than us and Wednesday (8 more than us)
Last season Sheff U were the 3rd highest scorers in the division. Automatic promotion.
When he came into Sheff U the season before they scored 39 goals in 27 games to get them into the playoffs. They were 16th when he took over.

Wednesday were the third highest scorers last season... EDIT: You could be referencing Championship promotion? Impressive for Barnsley if so.

I still think Benni McCarthy will make an excellent manager. However, with were we currently are in the league it'd be hopefully of Steve Cooper.
I think Heckinbottom would be ok
If we're looking to Europe then maybe Carl Hoefkens. Managed Club Brugge and Standard Liege. 21 wins out of 49 matches. He lead Brugge to the knock-out stages of the Champions League in 22/23.
Played for both Stoke (not at the same time as Cartwright was there) and West Brom in the Championship. As well as 22 times for Belgium
