Odd window, for once doing business early.
If we had made those signings in the last few days I think the majority would be really happy with them, however the dust has settled, we've not seen them used to great effect yet (ahem... DM)
And I think we would have all liked to see one more come in.

Before the window opened, I said we need 4 but I'd like more than that. A starting striker, a left footed CB, a tempo setting midfielder, a right back, and then after that maybe another striker and a winger.
We ended up with 4, just different ones: 2 strikers, another right footed CB, and more of a Kasumu/Hogg type midfielder. Too early to say how good they all are, but it's not exactly what I thought the team needed. The 2 most obvious and immediate needs were addressed though- needing a striker, and needing more options in general.
I'm glad we got it all done early is the main thing.

Before Janaury began, I didn't think we'd be spending over 3 million quid on players as well as sacking the whole management team. There were polls on here about which would you rather, spend on players or sack Moore - and we've done both. Huge credit to the owner for that.
I think we've strengthened in the right areas - centre half, centre mid and 2 strikers. Obviously it remains to be seen how they'll get on, they're all unknowns to this league really.
I can understand why some wanted an attacking midfielder. Hopefully the new manager can get a tune out of Wiles - another million quid that was spent in the summer.

Cannot really judge the players yet, time will tell.
But purely from an investment point of view, 3 million + on players and getting shut of Moore is a good window in my book.

An interesting poll, I can’t even remember the last time we were not in the premier league and spent as much money or expanded our squad’s depth as much. I’m surprised so many people said it was an okay window. But then again it’s all relative, Man city supporters probably think they’re doing horribly because they’re second in the table.
I thought we had a really good window and Nagle has shown intent to take the club forward; and now having to pay off DM, I don’t think fans could honestly ask for much more.

Depends on the new gaffer. Fuck that up and we are relegated.

Generally ok as long as manager is competent
Disappointed we’ve failed to address the missing ball playing midfielder once again
Radders and Healey also have a lot to live up to so hoping they settle quickly

I wasn’t expecting much and a couple of injuries made us rush for something we potentially hadn’t anticipated . Hopefully soon we’ll have a match day 20 out of the following , which SHOULD be equipped to compete in every game we play .
Nichols Maxwell
Pearson Helik Lees Nakayama Balker Spencer Headley Jackson Ruffels
Hogg Matos Wiles Kasumu Rudoni Diarra
Thomas Koroma Burgzorg Healey Radulovic

Good window for me
I thought we needed a right back, a couple of strikers and a extra midfielder
We got the two strikers - both with good credentials and not freebies like the last few windows
Matos is a very exciting young midfielder who we did well to get
Spencer has come back and looks a different player - I think he solves the right back worry and in the very least deserves a chance in that position
Then we also got Balker - who is a bit of an added bonus. Again with pedigree (and big fee) but adds something we've been missing ... pace at the defence
You could argue with Turtons injury we could have got more cover there but I guess we couldn't shift Edwards (or you hope a new manager gets a tune from him as Warnock saw something there)
Good loans out as well for Hudlin, Ayina, Austerfield and Olagunju which should develop there game. All should play regularly and fingers cross at least one kicks on like Headley or Harrogate last year or Spencer at Motherwell

A shame we didn’t find that elusive ball playing midfielder but at least we haven’t sold any of our key players.
We’ve also strengthened some important areas in which we were clearly lacking.
Add to that many of the teams in and around of us haven’t really signed anyone of note or that I wish we’d have signed.
Get the new manager appointment right and we should be well set for the rest of the season.

Definitely good for me. I’d hoped for minimum 3-4 needed and 4-6 very hopeful.
We’ve got 4 but if you add Spencer as a new head it’s like 5 new faces.
Agree we still need that playmaking midfielder, but with a fit squad and manager who plays to the strengths we should have enough in the locker to compete with all the bottom half sides for a safe finish…

It's been OK. It's great that we finally have some strikers, but we are still short on a right back, a front foot midfielder and wingers.

As for Edwards, if we end up having to play him then we're probably down.

A very good window IMO. The obvious gaping hole up front in our squad has been filled with two signings, thats the main thing. We dont need much of an upturn in form to pull away from danger and those 2 signings alone should provide it.

I voted for OK as I think it falls just short of being a "Really good window, as good as you could expect"
If we'd have got 1 more CM who is more of a ball player / creative, plus sold Diarra and sent Iorpenda on Loan, then I would have gone for Really good.
Really, really glad to see Loick Ayina and Muz Olagunju both out on Loan at good levels. 2 really good, young CB's that we can hopefully develop into our first team CBs.

When you look at the window as a whole we have not done badly. We have not shipped too many goals recently so the main need was to score a few more. A big, quick centre half was a bonus to two strikers and a very hard working midfielder. The elusive 'ball playing midfielder' is like the unicorn, very hard to find. Its not exactly who was playing anyway more(Moore) how we were trying to get a result.

Pretty good.
I suppose we always want another player but hard to do business in the last week without a manager at the helm.
I thought Spencer played well against QPR, maybe he can make the spot his own. Would have liked a right-back, even as cover to him. We were linked with Liam Bennett at Cambridge but they didn't want to let him go with no replacement lined up.

My only fear is that the need for a ball playing midfielder may become the gaping hole in the squad.
Matos needs to be in his best position (sitting in the centre covering the back 4), Spencer probably had his best game at centre back but looks solid at right back (had he been "bought" you'd be happy), Balker - I hope he's given a chance as he got called out for the equaliser on Sunday, Healy looks a box striker to me, we need to find a way of getting the best of him and Bojan needs decent service, to his feet and not fired into his throat or chest, and I think he'll score.
All add something in terms of depth we didn't have.

A fit Burgzorg and Headley gives a completely different complexion to this squad. Hopefully they aren't too far away.

The other good bit of business was REG
Good servant to the club - played over 50 league games and filled many positions
Not quite Championship standard right now but he's got a cracking move to a good club near where he is from. Town also got a small fee
Good business all round and a academy success story in my view

Think you need to look at it two ways - the level of investment and what we've invested on. Also January being a really difficult time to buy.
Delighted with the level of investment, Nagle's talk in the summer of being sustainable worried me but he's put a significant investment in this window. If Balker and Radulovic hit their potential they could be assets that we could sell for good money.
The jury is out on the players we've brought in - whether the individuals and the positions/roles they play in are right. Like the look of Balker and Radulovic, Matos seems a decent loan signing. Unsure on Healey although it's great we've brought two strikers in.
Think we need a playmaker but if we get the right manager that could wait until the summer.

Agree it has been good but still has a couple missing for me. Definitely still need a midfielder to act as something of a playmaker from deep/knit play together. I'd also say we are a bit light at fullback. Spencer coming back is good as he now looks a decent option. Not sure on the other side though. Ayina and Olagunju getting loans is a good thing and I hope they do well.

Think the window falls between those two categories, but I'm hair-splitting if I'm being honest. If we'd have added an immediate Hogg replacement/rotation I'd have gone for really good.

all in all a decent enough window. Yes, we all wanted Mooy 2.0 but other than that addressed key areas and, vitally, held on to key assets (Helik, Thomas etc).
Think we have enough to keep us up if the right right man (or woman) gets the job

Happy with the window. Strengthened and invested. We also didn't lose any of our key players - which some of our rivals did. Think they took the sensible option and didn't get drawn into any panic buys. Just hope we have better luck with injuries for the run in
