I'm far more confident we can get a result now than just a few weeks ago.
More front foot, aggressive football please 🙏

Selection options for this game..
If all fit I’d go..
Nicholls Spencer. Lees. Helik. Nakayama Matos. Hogg. Sorba. Rudoni. Koroma Burgzorg
Tough on Pearson wiles and kasumu
But great to have a proper bench again..
🍻🍻

You’re probably right about Pearson tho.. 👍

Fast tracked from National league to Premier league inside 3 years referee Rebecca Welch makes her 1st appearance at JSS.....She doesn't like Wendies (who does) dishing out 12 yellows/1 red over 3 games recently.

Will this be the first time in Town history that we have ever been refereed by a female? Bit of a landmark occasion for the statto's.

The squad will need some good management after Wednesday's efforts, especially considering that Hull have had an extra day's rest. I'd expect some rotation with Hogg, Nakayama and probably a couple of others rotated in and the likes of Kasumu and Matos in line for a rest to maintain energy levels. I don't think it's a bad thing, especially if Helik is ready to return too. Might be worth a different approach. Koroma to return to the left wing, Rudoni perhaps rested in favour of a striker.
Three weeks ago, with half the squad injured, I'd almost be writing this off as a loss with a timid performance. Even allowing for Hull's extra rest, we've now got enough in reserve to make changes, keep things fresh, and go again.
Quick thought, actually: in the promotion season we played Brighton on the Thursday while Leeds played Blackburn on the Tuesday. We then proceeded to play Leeds off the park on the Sunday, even with them having two extra days of rest, and with minimal rotation as I recall. Confidence should be high. No reason we can't do something similar.

Not been this confident for 5 months. Me neither... Still voted lose in the poll at the top because it worked yesterday. Hopefully if our new Kaiser is here it won't disrupt things, whether it'll still be JW in charge or not.

When I said in the Turnbridge before one game that Moore should have been sacked after Hull, my lad countered "he should have been sacked after 20 minutes at Hull".

What was up with Radinho or whatever he’s called? I thought he looked absolute quality last night and completely changed how high we could push knowing he had the beating of them for pace.

On top of everything else i’d LOVE IT for Worthington if we got 3 points. Surely it would make him our greatest ever interim manager.

Even if he's not statistically the greatest interim ever, I can't imagine there's many more important wins from an interim Town manager. If we'd lost those 2 games against Sheff Wed and Sunderland, we'd be 2nd bottom of the league. As it is, we're 5 points clear of the bottom 3. I can't imagine Andre would have been too keen joining a club 2nd bottom and heading for league 1. Those two results have had us fishing in a whole different pond...

I can't imagine Andre would have been too keen joining a club 2nd bottom and heading for league 1. Those two results have had us fishing in a whole different pond... Leslie Knighton (1911) and Graham Mitchell (2008) both won their only game in charge so have a 100% win record. Eddie Boot did okay in his caretaker spell after Shankly left. Ian Greaves struggled in 1964 after Boot's departure. Mick Buxton won four of his 12 games in charge before getting the job permanently. I think a lot of his behind the scenes work convinced the board. Steve Smith took over in December 1986 with us bottom, won the next two and drew the following two to take us up to 19th. Jimmy Robson lost his only game in charge in October 1987. As did Eoin Hand in May 1988. Lou Macari lost all four of his games in caretaker charge in 2000. Mel Machin gave us a fighting chance in 2003 when he won two games, and drew with Wigan, but throwing away a lead at Stockport and then a 5-1 hammering at Port Vale condemned us. Gerry Murphy did well in all three spells, but there was never really any pressure on him. Though he did beat Bradford and Leeds twice during those spells in 2007 and 2008. Lillis was okay for a bit as well. Beat his chest and bled blue and white but it tailed off in 2013 and 2014, and he tool charge of the Leeds game before Wagner took over in 2015, which we lost. Then there was Mark Hudson in 2019, and it's a toss up between him and Chicho Pelach as to who oversaw the most clueless performance I've witnessed at Town. Hudson lost all four games in 2019 he oversaw, and Pelach lost both games he oversaw in 2023. He was also joint interim with Paul Harsley in 2022, which yielded a victory. Worthington's spell is definitely up there for the impact he's had, but I'd be inclined to say either Gerry Murphy because of those famous Leeds wins and because I was a kid and I loved it back then, or maybe Steve Smith for pulling us away from bottom of the table and out of trouble. Worst is either Hudson or Pelach.

Another tough game against what has proved to be a good team this season.
We need to carry on as Wednesday night with the same energy, application, intent and belief.
JW deserves a great send off back to his day job and Andre needs to see what these player are capable of.

What time is the press conference? Got everything crossed that Balker is ok. Balker was just supposed to be knackered when he came off, after recovering from illness earlier in the week. I'm not sure they'll risk starting him.

I reckon our best team right now looks like:
Nicholls Pearson Balker Helik Spencer Matos Kasumu Thomas Rudoni Koroma Burgzorg
Hope we can get somewhere close to this tomrorrow.

I genuinely think with a decent manager our first XI is capable of challenging for the play-offs. The players in that team are capable. My only adjustment would be to put Spencer at RB and ideally sign a new LB or hope Headley continues to progress.

All of a sudden, we look like we have players that could challenge any team in the league. Crazy how much DM was hamstringing us.
