His first home game against Leeds on telly, what a start. Got a great feeling about this guy based on his track record. For Nagle to bag this guy suggests he’s sold him the dream, could bw another wild ride. And against his fellow countryman too. Sets it up nicely.

Quite excited by this appointment, certainly has a lot better credentials than our last two coaches from Germany, who’s CV’s seemed to consist of putting the cones out for Felix Mcgath and the other taking PE lessons. Time will tell, but I’d rather some one like this be appointed than another journeyman English lower league manager who doesn’t really fancy the job anyway. While I’m really hopeful he’ll succeed I fail to understand the excitement over the appointment since while he has had notable successes hasn’t he twice been sacked (or am I missing something?). Which manager that has never been sacked would you have liked?

Which manager that has never been sacked would you have liked? I was thinking that myself, which manager would anyone like ? Even those wanting Steve Cooper for example , he has been sacked. This bloke coming in , has also left jobs to move onto bigger clubs more than he has been sacked . If he leaves us in a better place than he found us am more than happy .

2024 versions of Kachunga, Löwe, Schindler and Hefele, and not forgetting Stankovic and Quaner (we’ll forgive Paurevic) will do very nicely this summer. Exciting times ahead indeed. Thank you KN. Now for three points on Saturday and a rousing send off of appreciation to JW and his assistants as they presumably all return to their old roles. I mean if we're putting together a wishlist I'll have a 2024 version of Mooy first please!

Worthy knows this team inside-out, only realistic to expect the new guy to take some time to get some results, especially with his first game being against scum.
I’ll not be making any huge judgements until next season.
I think he’ll be a special one with Nagle’s backing. Been a while since we’ve been to Wembley eh!

Is he the guy that stopped Wagner winning the league with Young Boys for the first time in 6 years or something??

On paper, this is very exciting. He looks like the kind of manager to get the best out of the tools at his disposal, and who plays a type of football that suits the players we already have. I can't say I know anything about him other than that, but his track record is good, by and large, and the only times it hasn't worked out have been at basketcase big clubs. His success with Zurich is particularly impressive when you consider that 2022 was their first title in 13 years, they'd nearly got relegated the season before and then duly nearly got relegated the season after.
Plenty of optimism here about this appointment. Certainly much more exciting than the merry-go-round usual suspects.

Huddersfield owner Kevin Nagle said: "At the start of this process, we were very clear on what we expect our head coach to deliver.
"Atop that list was the creation of a winning culture, where there is no fear over taking bold options to try to get all three points in every game - before matchday or during the game.
"We also want to deliver a type of football that will excite our supporters, who love a high-tempo, front-foot, all-action style.
"We believe Andre is the ideal candidate to deliver this. His credentials as a winner are there for all to see and, upon speaking to him, I was very impressed with his depth of knowledge. I'm excited to see the impact he has on our talented squad."
Hope he can do this. How the hell did Darren Bore convince the interview panel he could do the above! Only JW has brought some excitement back for God knows how long!

He's come up against Daniel Farke before in season 2022-23 when they were managing Hoffenheim and Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga. Farke's team won both encounters.

Would have been happy with Worthington for the rest of the season but also more than happy with this appointment.
It appears the club have learnt and realised appointing Moore and the like just wont cut it when it comes to generating excitement amongst fans no matter how much rubbish they spin with it. The difference in reaction to this appointment compared the Moore is chalk and cheese!
Fair play to the club and well done!

I suppose while new players signing can feel exciting it’s rarely the same for me with managers as it’s a much finer line between success and failure for them than players.

Does anyone know who his assistants are likely to be? Not me I just hope Nicholls gets on with his goalkeeping coach Ha ha. Was brilliant watching him in prime time wasting mode again last night.

Sincerely hope he’s Wagner Mark 2. If you consider what he has achieved in Europe it’s quite a big step up from the level of our usual managers. He also appears to favour a counter attacking style and getting unfancied teams to overachieve. Doesn’t mean he’ll be a success but hard to argue it doesn’t look like a decent appointment imo.

The DATM paradox that slated Wagner for not winning that league and then praising the guy for beating him 😉🤣 Why wouldn't you praise someone that took a team, that stopped up by a point, to the title the next year. Especially when the team that'd won 4 in a row finished 15 points back.
