2024 versions of Kachunga, Löwe, Schindler and Hefele, and not forgetting Stankovic and Quaner (we’ll forgive Paurevic) will do very nicely this summer. Exciting times ahead indeed. Thank you KN. Now for three points on Saturday and a rousing send off of appreciation to JW and his assistants as they presumably all return to their old roles. Would be delightful but not possible. None of them would qualify for a work permit now so we’d have to use the new ESC slots and we’ve used two on Balker and Radulovic. Brexit again - another "benefit"

Plus if they play a certain percentage of available minutes they get a normal work permit freeing up ESC slots?

He's come up against Daniel Farke before in season 2022-23 when they were managing Hoffenheim and Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga. Farke's team won both encounters. Stop it, let's have a brief period of optimism before reality bites!

Siewert was the most exciting attacking appointment in towns history. He wanted to play 3 attackers and press up the field to score goal after goal. Unfortunately he wasn't backed with a billion pound budget and then his football didn't meet expectations, hardly his fault. UTT Siewert was out of his depth but I don't resent him for his time in charge. If you're a young manager starting out and you're offered a job in the biggest league in the world you're probably gonna take it. He's just been sacked back home but there's every chance he'll have a decent career. Breitenreiter is a much more experienced coach, and Town are in a much better place off the field playing at a lower level. No guarantees in football as well we know, but all the signs are positive... UTFT 🍻🥨🇩🇪🏴🇨🇭🔵⚪🔵⚪🔵⚪🔵⚪🔵⚪🔵

Worthy knows this team inside-out, only realistic to expect the new guy to take some time to get some results, especially with his first game being against scum. I’ll not be making any huge judgements until next season. I think he’ll be a special one with Nagle’s backing. Been a while since we’ve been to Wembley eh! I believe his first game will be Watford away !

understat.com/team/Hoffenheim/2022Good site to see his previous teams formations and players managed. Largely 352 for Hoffenheim and a mix with Schalke and Hanover with 4231 and 442 used often. He’s managed some very high profile players in Germany, bodes well to command the respect of the squad early.

2 (& a bit) year contract is it?
Sort of a try before you buy deal, or a mutual agreement?

The most important thing now is staying up and building a team for nest season so its one game at a time and beating the scum bags from Beeston

I know you can have younger Mgrs, but I think players need to be looking up to their boss in this game. Bit different for us mere mortals, but even then it can be tough being told to do your job by someone a few yrs younger, or on a par and without any real experience. It must have been a difficult dressing room at that point in the season. Anyway, let’s hope this new bloke can move us forward.

That is the problem, any new manager takes time to get to know his best team, time we don't have. You'd have to think he'd be working alongside Worthy until he gets to know the team, wouldn't you?

Slightly off topic but didn’t want to create a new thread…..
Anyone think it’s odd no comments for Jake Edwards this time. Usually its him and MC with comments not Kev???

On paper, this is very exciting. He looks like the kind of manager to get the best out of the TOOLS at his disposal, and who plays a type of football that suits the players we already have. I can't say I know anything about him other than that, but his track record is good, by and large, and the only times it hasn't worked out have been at basketcase big clubs. His success with Zurich is particularly impressive when you consider that 2022 was their first title in 13 years, they'd nearly got relegated the season before and then duly nearly got relegated the season after. Plenty of optimism here about this appointment. Certainly much more exciting than the merry-go-round usual suspects. I agree with just about all of that but calling the players tools is a bit harsh although a few of them could be described that way!! Lol

Does anyone know who his assistants are likely to be? Some people he has worked with in the past from what I can tell are Volkan Bulut (Asisstant), Simon Henzler (GK Coach), Tobias Stock (fitness coach) and Dennis Fischer (Fitness coach). Though this was all before he had that break to look after his father. His assistant at Hoffenheim and Zuirch was Darius Scholtysik.

Let's hope that this guy is the David Wagner of the Nagle era. Whereas Darren Moore is the Stan Ternent of the Nagle era! Bit harsh on Stan that 🤣

Scholtysik stayed at Hoffenheim after André left so I'm guessing he doesn't have a consistent team. That said in his statement on Instagram, he talks about him and his team

The most important thing now is staying up and building a team for nest season so its one game at a time and beating the scum bags from Beeston I'm sure that would immediately endear him to the home faithful, they look very strong this year though backed with PP money. I'd take not being embarrassed again and all the piss taking that goes with it living in a bit of a plastic armchair Leeds stronghold

Wish Andre all the best. Glad we've thought outside the box a little on this one. Suppose we did that with Buzz but this guy has lots of first team experience. His style of football sounds spot on for our squad.

No idea if he will work out or not. Another Wagner? Another Siewert? Something between the two? Who knows. Wish him and his staff all the best. Needless to say I will be changing my avatar accordingly when I get round to it. Can't do it on a mobile.
