I’d be interested to know how he manages his players, is he a “man manager”, is he authoritarian? Does he work them to death?, is he heavy on tactics etc etc… Really hope the playerslike his method and respect his experience. The squad is decent now, so if he can get them all to buy in to how he does things, there’s no reason why there can’t be some exciting times ahead.

I don't think he would have won the titles that he has won if he wasn't a good man manager. As Warnock showed... working players to death doesn't always work. The way we are playing, players need recovery time after the amount of effort they are putting in and I'm sure he'll realise that.

I didn't want DM one bit & said he was Lee Clark two right from the start & sadly I was proved correct. I know nothing about our latest appointment, has he been out of work for over a year? Did we need to make the announcement today? Will he stay on if relegated (presume yes)?.....I would have stuck with a guy (JW) who knows the club for now/until safety, I really hope its not another blunder along with many other Town fans. Which part of Lee Clark Two were you correct on? It seems you’re not too happy with the new appointment. Be interesting in 6 months time to see whether you’re right on this one as well. Let’s hope not

Well only time will tell like with all managerial appointments and transfers.
I’m glad it isn’t Duff.
Good luck to him but massive thanks to JW for what he has done. Let’s hope he can sign of with 3 massive points on Saturday.

Looks a very good appointment on paper and very ambitious. His CV is very impressive and as someone mentioned way better than Steve Cooper's who we all wanted!
I wonder how good his English is? Wonder if the backroom team win necessarily be German? I remember Wagner had Hughes and the fella who used to play for Liverpool who's name I can't remember. I guess they don't necessarily have to know each other.

JW stressed from the beginning that he didn’t want the job. His passion is the academy.
What a fabulous job he has done in those first three games ( We saw a plan - something Moore couldn’t do) and hopefully on Saturday he can make it 9 points.

At 50 yo he's certainly got experience. Is he the man to take us to the PL, in 2 seasons, or to set the foundations?
It's a bold appointment and I don't mind that at all. The list of possibles we've debated hasn't really yielded an outstanding option.
I know nothing of the guy, apart from what others have said, and I did think, who ?
I don't think he'll be a disaster, like others we've had, he'll be organised, he's experienced but ultimately it's whether he an get the best out of the players. Has some personality and the players take to him, and has tactical nouce.
I'm reasonably optimistic tbh, but we'll know better after he's had a few games in charge.

Yes I get that there’s not many we could have realistically have got but therefore I think it’s one to be hopeful about but not too excited about. Sincerely hope he’s Wagner Mark 2. If you consider what he has achieved in Europe it’s quite a big step up from the level of our usual managers. He also appears to favour a counter attacking style and getting unfancied teams to overachieve. Doesn’t mean he’ll be a success but hard to argue it doesn’t look like a decent appointment imo. Looks like a decent appointment I’d definitely agree with. I’ll reserve my excitement for the last game of JWs management!

Really excited by this appointment! Welcome Andre.
Top flight league winners are in short supply - he obviously has something about him.
No guarantees in football of course, but I like us not taking the safe option. Excluding the short return of Warnock, this is the first appointment since Corberan which has got be really excited.
Huge credit to Kevin Nagle for taking the time and staying true to his word. A manager of Andre’s calibre won’t be cheap either so a real statement of intent.
Hoping for a great send-off for Worthy tomorrow and then optimistic about BreitenBall!

Feels like the tide is turning with town. So much more positive energy on Wednesday and us town fans don't ask for much. Passion, effort and 100%.
Worthy has done amazing to get this in a few games. I was honestly at the point with Moore where I couldn't be arsed anymore.
The turnaround is incredible. This is a great appointment so well done Mr Nagle

I can never understand our timing🤔
Keep announcing new managers on the back of a few good results??
I hope it goes well for him,but excuse me for being a bit sceptical when the club have given us Mark Fotheringham and Darren Moore in the last 12 months!!
Good luck Andre..and Willkommen

Anyone who had any doubts over the ambition of KN - think again. Breitenreiter has taken some convincing, as reported he has had a lot of options over the last year or so but the feeling is in Germany his stock is a little low atm despite doing some great work at Paderborn & Schalke as we all know in football you"re only as good as your last job. He sees the project at Town as his "speciality" which is overachieving with an "underdog" he has proven the ability to do this over his career. His key strength is uniting a club & I have heard he is a very warm & genuine person not massively motivated by money but more so by core values & culture at a club. A real family man he took a couple of years out of the game before the Zurich job to care for his Father with dementia who has since sadly passed. He is very confident & clear in his philosophy. Hope it goes well, nothing is guaranteed but IMO this is as good as an appointment we could have made. UTT

I am pleased he took some convincing, rather that than someone desperate to take the job

The squad is decent now, so if he can get them all to buy in to how he does things, there’s no reason why there can’t be some exciting times ahead. Most of the teams he’s took over haven’t had the resources of the teams up the top end of the leagues he’s been in,or they’ve been in a bad spot. He’s done well at most so I’d imagine he is a fairly good man manager. That said listening to chickens podcast this morning they also said he has been divisive and also very decisive.Basically he knows what he wants and believes in his methods to get it.I think maybe the divisive bit maybe is with the behind the scenes stuff because I know the fans at schalke were happy with him and he did improve them but a new dof came in end of the season and sacked him. Also I don’t think he was happy with the lack of backing at Hannover once they got promoted.he kept them up but I think it was a struggle. So not sure he was too happy with that. Also i read at hoffenheim his last job that he had said the was division behind the scenes, but that could be him masking the bad run that cost him his job. Guess we will find out but I think without actually knowing, the bits iv read I’d guess firm but fair.

IP think so - when Dooks tweeted skybet they added him at 1/10... they haven't done that with anyone else. As soon as Maynard (I think) liked the post I texted half my family to bang bets on. Dad texted back that he looked on website and he wasn't listed, went to other sites to double check but by the time he got back on SkyBet it was 1-10 Edit: Oops he said Sun betting site not Sky Bet sorry

Nagle is delivering on his promises, getting back to being excited with the club, Worthington has started our comeback let's hope the new guy can continue with the progression, the future is looking bright, things just feels right. Here's hoping for some good times ahead.
So happy they did not appoint a merry go round manager.

7pm seems like a good announcement time - let’s see 🤞 These things normally happen on a Friday.
If this isn't a huge wind-up, I reckon they'll announce him tomorrow with JW still in charge for this weekend.
But let's not forget, fly in the ointment - because of Brexit any European is going to need a work permit, so it may still take a few days, even weeks to confirm.
A few already did before Brexit. Only 27 of the countries in Europe were actually in the EU you know. Not a dig at you mate, but it annoys me when people seem to think the EU is all of Europe. FFS Hanabie (a Japanese metal band in case you were unaware) even advertised their European tour as EU until it was pointed out to them that some of the countries they were visiting aren't in that superstate

Waiting for his first interview to confirm he speaks much more coherently that Moore ever did. Listening to Moore's post appointment interview at Port Vale was like déjà vu.

I know justaguy will have read this thread but I hope KN reads it too. Nothing is ever certain in life and football but, at long last, I have a sense of anticipation and excitement with Town again.
The immediate priority is to secure safety for another season. Achieve that and I genuinely think that the incredible togetherness, excitement and success we had under DW in 2016-2018 can be repeated. Then, KN will really understand what makes this club so special and so important to us all.
I ordered my ticket for Watford yesterday morning not knowing it would be AB’s first game, but my anticipation in looking forward to next weekend was already high because of what JW had achieved, now it’s even higher.

Like other poster have said..
This is a real statement of intent from our chairman..
AB will have had offers from bigger clubs than us and he won’t be cheap..
Fair play Kev for backing up your ambitions with action..
Excited for the AB brand of no limits geggenpressing rock and roll football..
