I really wanted him to stay... but the longer it went on it was obvious his heart wasn't in it, and... along with his agent, he's been scouting out his next move. So, good riddance.
Seven times in the last two years we've been saying that this next appointment is critical.

A problem that's rapidly spreading (if not already ingrained) in some fans since 6pm this evening, and I include myself in that. |

I was all for AB, but the call out’s on our squad and pre season prep make him look much more like a coward now he’s resigned.
Why didn’t you actually prove what was wrong with the squad by staying on and fixing it? Right, cause in actuality you were worthless. Why the hell would you work hard and build a legacy for my club when you can piss off back to Germany, and never speak of Huddersfield again; fucking mercenary.

His comments the other day pissed me off. "I'm going to have to have a good think about my future because I'm not really a manager who is willing to work in the 3rd tier of a league!!!"  ? Why take a 2 and a half year contract before the last 3rd (more or less) of a season knowing there's a good chance of relegation and then leave the club when you fail to keep the team up? |

I had my doubts after his first game at Watford, despite the fact we won. He had no presence, he was just grinning like a dummy and talking crap.
He seemed like a total prat to me and has done absolutely nothing since that win, so good riddance.

Great way to shred your reputation. Wouldn’t be surprised if he never does anything of note in football again. Reflects very poorly on his character, blame the players and then leave as soon as possible We need a strong, winning character in quickly to give us some optimism for next season or things could unravel quickly. Can’t believe this has been announced 2 days after season ticket have gone on sale - shambolic. Won’t make a dent on his reputation at all, he was our fourth manager of a season in which we were tipped for relegation. Shame he didn’t want to gamble his reputation. |

Regardless of how it turned out, persuading AB to come to a struggling Championship club in the first place was a pretty remarkable coup.
The idea of him choosing to ply his trade in the English third tier next season seemed - to me at least - almost ludicrously far fetched.
My main point of intrigue is why it has taken him so long to confirm this.
While some seem to be interpreting this as indicative of some failure on KN's part to adhere to his demands, my gut feeling is that KN's hard-sell has been the primary reason he didn't simply say "Tschüss!" last weekend.
Anyway - onwards and upwards.

Disappointing that the person who oversaw relegation to the third tier isn't up for the challenge. Can't see him having a future in this country now with such a bad win record. He now becomes yesterday's news as he effectively is for HTAFC. Moving forwards, what a huge opportunity for a manager with a great club in League One. Whoever is appointed, let's all back him with everything we have and prove that we really are a Championship team in 12 months time. On that subject, realistic targets right now could be Grant McCann or Darren Ferguson. Fergie is a good shout. Nigel Pearson would be my choice |

So in a nutshell you don't agree that players taking the piss get benched or dropped. You don't agree that the players weren't fit enough to play in his opinion. And you're last point.... he has been a successful manager in Germany. I guarantee players AB wants will be hard workers and play with passion and pride judging his comments since he has been here. He doesn't allow people to slack, take the piss or have an ego. thing is the world didn’t need to know his opinion on certain players so called attitudes players like people are all unique deal with it chastise behind closed doors we all knew Sorba can be precious we’d been told by more than one manager in their own way AB threw his accusations about and that’s all they are once the game was up and his efforts to get the required results were found wanting from where i’m standing his strategy at this moment smacks of a pretty chunky ego But how long does it stay behind closed doors? What I can't fathom is people wanting Liam Rosenior who's football is very defensive and to counter.
We didn't like Moores or AB's. Rosenior is about in the middle.
We want someone who will actually attack when they say that's what they are about. Too may claiming that's their style and yet it's never seen.
Rosenior is a no purely due to his negative tactics.

Goes down as another boneheaded managerial appointment, the latest in a long line.
There was a very good chance that we'd be relegated when he was given the job so we either needed a firefighter to get us out of it (like Warnock) or someone who would stick around for the rebuild in League One.
We got neither.
