So whats his football like? I quickly found one article from his time in Zurich saying low possession counter-attacking style.

On the back of three great performances and heading into the season's final stages - I'm not sure if this is brave or stupid.
I guess that's why the management is paid to make decisions.
And we know they like to make appointments while things are going well... because what could possibly go wrong?

Took SC Paderborn 07 to the Bundesliga for the first time in the club's history in his first season as their head coach. The season after they got relegated. He left to join FC Schalke 04, replacing Roberto di Matteo. Did well, got them into Europe. Finished 5th in Bundesliga. Was relieved of his duties by the incoming Director of Football. Joined Hannover 96 in the 2. Bundesliga. Got them promoted into Bundesliga. Parted company. Career break to look after his father with dementia after his mother had died. Took over at FC Zurich. Won the championship with them. Took over at Hoffenheim. Had started very well, dropped off, got sacked. They continued to fall after sacking him, before an upturn of results at the end of the season saw them safe. Great appointment on paper. This guy has relegation and promotion experience, top division success, and he has a style of football he's known for: outsideoftheboot.com/2015/07/15/tactical-philosophy-andre-breitenreiter/Doesn’t sound great to me! |

How are people complaining about this? It’s an incredibly exciting appointment and exactly what we should be targeting. Not the likes of duff Moore hecky mundane FA coaches. Credit where it’s due to KN and the team.

looking at that cv he feels like someone who expects/is capable of a promotion push, which is in line with nagle saying we want promotion in 3 years. Exciting!

Hang on, we're excited about this guy who was sacked from his last job in his first season after 22 games having got 25 points, but we didn't want Duff who was sacked in his last job in his first season after 19 games having got 21 points? Please note, this is in jest, he looks a great appointment. (Though still think Duff would have been OK as well). Wait until we find out he's commuting from Germany though.... Excited.. 👍👍 Well given it's not announced yet, that's not technically true  But yes, seems like things have been kept very much underwraps. We had reliable posters suggesting nothing was close yesterday. Would be intersting to know how much of the small bits that have come out had any truth in them. Look forward to the next KN diary. |
