If he does have such a good record, is it a bit pessimistic to say why is he coming to Huddersfield? Surely he’d be on the radars of bigger clubs? Surely you could use that as a reason to be concerned about any appointment we make though? Obvious to say but we aren't going to appoint anybody who isn't prepared to come to Huddersfield. It sounds like other clubs might have been sniffing around. Maybe he fancied the challenge of managing in England. Maybe he's familiar with Huddersfield from the Wagner period. Yeah course but Huddersfield are only going to have so much pulling power aren’t they?

Since most of the German we learned at school was based around talking about your hobbies and various shopping scenarios, the best I could manage was "Ich spiele mit mein pimmel in der backerei". I did not get many dates. My German teacher gave me a predicted grade of U in my GCSE because I always messed about in class and shouted inappropriate phrases; rather than "Ich Wohne In Soltau" I'd say something like "Ich Wohne In Eine Sheisshaus", he hated me. Proper pissed him off when I got 98% in the spoken part and a B grade overall. He didn't know I had a German girlfriend The good old days, when teachers would be annoyed if you got a better grade than they thought you deserved.

Win % means fuck all going on our last appointment. Hoffenheim have gotten even worse since they sacked him. Someone more clued up on German football may know if they are in a crisis. It could either go Wagner or Siewart. Or the most highly rated coach in the Bundelisga, Fotheringham. He’s got by far a better managerial record than any of those. All three of the above had never really managed in senior football. This guy has a proven track record. Whilst there are no guarantees in football this feels like an exciting appointment to me. His style will mesh perfectly with the players we have based on the last few games too.

Yeah course but Huddersfield are only going to have so much pulling power aren’t they? That's exactly the mindset we need to rid ourselves of, both as a club and a fanbase. To quote Peter Sarstedt '...touched with a burning ambition to shake off their lowly-born tags'. TERRIER SPIRIT / NO LIMITS MkII !!

Huddersfield will always have a smaller pulling power than a lot of the Championship at the moment.

Actually looks a real coup. Sad we won’t see any more Worthy ball for the time being though hope worthy is in charge on Saturday, actually first time in awhile that I’m looking forward to a game and it’s down to worthy, proper town legend💙🤍 I expect he will be. Taking charge for a game on your 2nd full day in the job is a lot to ask even if he signs today. No time to get any ideas across or familiarity with the players. JW keeps the job until full time on Saturday and then hands over on the coach on the way back. AB (assuming it's him) observes and takes notes beforehand. NB - I'm not ITK. I'm just guessing based on what would make the most sense.

'If you build it, they will come'. Admittedly we are never going to compete with the 40k + fan-based clubs in the country but to say we can't be as good as Brighton HA, Brentford, Burnley, Bournemouth, Luton Town (being London centric aside with the exception of Burnley of course) is more 'having an underdog mindset' than not IMO. I'm not saying it's not competitive and every club has the same objective but some do it better than others and maybe this time we are in the latter category.

Would certainly surprise me if it Breitenreiter - vaguely remember him taking a very unfancied Paderborn side to the Bundesliga in swashbuckling fashion approx. 10 years ago, and being surprised Schalke let him go sometime just after that.
It'd be quite a coup in my eyes; wonder if he'll be able to bring over a few German players to help with our promotion push next season..
