I honestly don't know how they can release SC prices with our league status so much in the balance...and unlikely to be resolved one way or the other until late April. A price increase will certainly put some fans off but I guess the 'deadline day' for purchasing will be some weeks ahead...so most people will just wait won't they ? Hardly any revenue will come in before the deadline day so what exactly is the point...

Mmmm… There’s normally a press release after this sort of post. What’s happened? A bit of market feedback going on before they finalise the prices? They emailed out yesterday to get you to check your details are correct on your ticketing account. Although, if your email address isn't correct that won't work very well 🤣.

The club, like any organisation, should have put up prices year on year, if only by a small amount to match inflation. It’s just common sense. We all need to expect a price increase next season and I’d expect tiered pricing dependant on where you sit in the stadium.

It is what it is. If the number of paying customers fall off a cliff, then so be it. Hypothetically let’s say we somehow avoid relegation, then next season there’s a big decline in tickets sold, then we will most likely not survive another relegation battle. You reap what you sow. Personally think, as an absolute minimum, 60% will renew or buy a season ticket, based on this years numbers. Every single person in our group plus kids will renew, that’s about 20-25. Yes, it’s a minuscule sample size, but it’s the only group I can base it on. Most of us aren’t affected by football after the full time whistle, so trivial gossip like Pearson cupping his ear, why the gaffer isn’t playing Matos, not feeling connected to the club, we aren’t really arsed Monday-Friday, it’s only Saturdays when we’d generally talk about this stuff. I appreciate for some people it’s very important but for us it’s just about getting together and having a laugh. We will all do this as long as we are all fit and able.

Bad results, poor management, shite games, doesn’t stay with me nowadays like it used to. Used to piss me right off for days.

The club and those that run it are in for a massive massive shock next season. Guessing you've heard what the prices are going to be? Ben is probably right, this is the last season of the 3 season price promise and the new owner has always hinted that prices will rise. Fans have been missing games they have already payed for due to the product being poor, even if we stay up I can see there being a drop in renewals whatever the increase is. Fans have had years of relegation scraps and a poor run club. Also the game in general is beginning to lose fans due to unaffordable matchday prices, games played at stupid times due to tv ruling the game and changing game times at the drop of a hat, the players are overpaid and a lot of them have egos the size of their monthly pay cheque, to me the game has been ruined by var and the game is virtually a non contact sport these days, it's a real shame the way the game is heading but it's going to lose a lot of genuine supporters on the way. The price for a family of 4 to attend a game is now a 1 off luxury, kids won't get to see a live game in a stadium thats why you see so many Liverpool and Man utd shirts on the kids, they only get to watch matches from their armchairs.

We’re all different. I have 2 season cards to pay for and my son will be on an adult one next time despite the fact he’ll be in his last year at uni and unlikely to make more than half of all games. I will be 50/50 on renewing were we to be relegated especially with an increase of some sort on the way (if it increases to £350, I won’t be renewing irrespective of which division we are in). My brother will definitely renew whatever as he likes getting out of the house every fortnight for a few hours. I will also be knocking Sky Sports off my subscription come the end of the season as since our stint in the PL and Covid, I’ve lost a lot of interest in watching the same half a dozen teams challenging for silverware. I’m afraid the halcyon days of the PL are long gone for me, I don’t know half of the players anymore and even struggle to name some England players. And that’s after 20+ years of subscription.

I've just had surgery and be a long recovery so won't be getting 1 next season even if they offered me a free 1!!, to be honest I don't think I will miss going the game doesnt seem to have the same appeal as in the past and I never thought I would have thought this way, I did enjoy the Cov and Man utd games this weekend they actually had some passion in them for once. The FA cup has had some good games this season.

When the people around you ( your family) have no interest it’s so much easier to lose interest in anything, a major driving force in attending footy is the social will to attend. If it’s a great laugh meeting up with folk and attending games together . The draw is more than just the footy.

I don't know all the figures, but last season some 6,000 SC holders never turned up (average) yet we still sold around 16,400 for this season... I don't know what numbers are not turning up this season, but from what I hear it sounds to be around the same sort of figure. Our average home fans gate this season is 17,623...very slightly higher than last season but I hope we don't go back to the days when out home gates we barely 12,000 .. i fear if we fall away these next 8 games and are relegated we could see a big reduction..

Another factor is train travel disruption is set to continue which adds cost & hassle to the day out. The first time in 40 odd years I don't think I'll bother & pick my games. Football in general has become boring. I'm convinced we will be relegated league 1 football & that stupid cup competition with U21 teams. No thanks. It's going to have to be an attractive offer & a clear intent & actions from the club to shift them for next season.

If we are relegated, we will lose a lot of season ticket holders. But that’s normal for most clubs. Think we will probably hit maybe 10,000 season tickets. If we aren’t relegated I also think we will lose season ticket holders and maybe sell around 12-13,000. We are currently at a stage where it’s a bit stale, continuous lower end finishes, nothing really clicking. It’s all a cycle, we’ve all seen it before. We are going to have a year when there’s a big drop in sales but it will come back round when we have another uptake. Maybe 1 year, 5 year… Stating the obvious but the most important thing is not to get relegated. It could take a long, long time to recover.

I’ve only skim-read this thread, yet I’m still sat here shaking my head. There’s people actually asking the club to put prices up! Talk about turkeys voting for Christmas. The price of a ticket to watch Town has no bearing whatsoever on what other clubs charge, and vice versa. It’s completely irrelevant. Football as a whole is vastly overpriced, so here’s my view… Anyone buying into a football club should only do so if they’re wealthy enough and prepared to fund the club through the entirety of their ownership. You can do all the sums you like, but pricing fans out of attending will only result in lower attendances, lower merch sales, lower concession sales and the stadium atmosphere will be non-existent. Any additional income from ticket sales will be offset by lower numbers, or will be a drop in the ocean in terms of the club’s running costs. What will an extra £500k pa really do when better players cost £millions? The ONLY reason I’m a season ticket holder is because the cost is roughly what I value a game of football to be worth. If prices rise (for both me and the boy) then he’ll start playing in the District League and I’ll tag along with him. We won’t be alone in finding something else to do either. I’ll say it again, bollocks to what any other club do, look after Town fans and find a way of getting more into the ground on a regular basis or it’ll be back to the 11k crowds and the stink of disillusion on the terraces.

Increasing SC prices after yet ANOTHER season of struggling at the bottom of the league, ANOTHER season of constant change in the dugout and ANOTHER season of money wasted of transfers will ensure thats one way to guarantee the above prediction will come true.

Our relegation fate may well not be determined until Ipswich. I think that the sensible approach is to announce two sets of prices dependent on which division we are in. Folks will then be able to renew assured of a refund if we get relegated.

And ANOTHER season that prices have been way below the average for this level As others have said, are ours cheap or are others overpriced? Primark sell jumpers way below the average. Should they increase them just fall in line? No, they dont because the quality isn't as good and the price allows for mass market appeal. In you increase the price of something you have to increase the value if the product to the customer. Town haven't added any value to the product for the past 2 seasons. Why would anyone think a price increase is a good idea? You've also got to consider the economic situation of the customer base. Huddersfield in the main is a poor area. Even an increase of £50 is likely to price out a lot of fans who are struggling in the current climate. Families who rely on the cheaper tickets to enable parents to bring thier kids will be effected. Prices rise and kids stop attending and you lose a whole generation of fans for the future. I understand the club has costs to cover, but an extra £100 on Season Cards will mean reduced numbers and, if sales are low it'll likely mean the overall net increase isn't worth it when you consider the amount of people who will no longer be attending.

Come on. We’ve been underpriced for years. Let’s not deny that. We’ve been an incredibly lucky fan base, especially if you include the Prem years. Sadly performance on pitch hasn’t been up to scratch (to say the least) and we’ve been through an awkward period of ownership £250 for 23 games of professional football is not a lot for 90+ minutes of “entertainment” and the fact is very similar or lower division clubs have been charging more. Whilst I don’t doubt there’s a lot of people struggling out there now I doubt £50 over a year will make a huge dent in the fan base (whilst also recognising it would be a BIG impact to a minority) What will lose us fans is the way we finish up this season and the sound bites coming out of the club for next KN has indicated he’s willing to put his hand in his pocket (not massively effectively so far) and in the event of us staying up I think next season has the potential to look quite enticing to any fans sitting on the fence currently. If we roll over from here and go down that is our biggest danger by far….. I hope to see a price rise but maybe a bit more innovation in the packaging. I think certain areas of the ground could maintain similar pricing and there must be some deals and enticements we can throw in with early round of League Cup, Friendlies, merchandise to soften the blow

As much as I don’t agree with it I’ll still be there next season to bitch and Moab like the rest of us, thankfully I’m in a position to afford a price increase but it’s the ones that can’t that I’ll feel sorry for, our prices are low and one of the cheapest in the league because the players we have and sign are in that same bracket…other clubs are heavily over priced and I’d say £250 is about right for the quality (or lack of) we see every week, but Mr Nagel has to be very carful his it’s done as another year of so many mistakes and miss management will be met with a lot more backlash this year

You absolutely make some very valid points. The balance Nagle has to strike is the revenue he recovers overall and what part tickets play in that. The more revenue generated the more,in theory, can be offset against the team and align with FFP (the bigger the revenue the bigger the amount that can be offset against rolling "loss"). It's a bit of a vicious circle in that if you put prices up people won't buy, especially as you say with the quality on offer in recent seasons. Get less revenue and the proportionate amount Mr Nagle can invest reduces. Would people be more likely to find the money if they had confidence in what they were likely to see on the pitch? You'd have to say it would be more likely. There is so much that needs to change at the club in my view and getting this balance is just one. I still believe Mr Nagle is here to be successful but right now he has so much more to do to get people completely onside.
