I am convinced that we will be safe this year, now. Obviously we can't be complacent, but I don't see that happening under the new regime. So I thought I'd look ahead. Our current squad is below, with players who are out of contract at the end of the season or on loan in bold. Goalkeepers: Nicholls Maxwell ChapmanDefenders: Spencer Ruffells Pearson Helik NakayamaHeadley Edwards
Turton Balker Jackson Lees Midfielders: HoggMatos
Kasumu Wiles DiarraRudoni Attackers: Thomas BurgzorgWard Harratt Hudlin Radulović Koroma Jones Healey Currently out on loan: Simpson Rhodes Hudlin High Rowe Austerfield Ayina Olagunju Personally, I'd exercise the option for Burgzorg, and try to extend the following contracts: Nakayama, Hogg, Jackson, Pearson I'd be fine with all of those out on loan leaving, except perhaps Ayina who I think is a prospect. I'd look to move on Ruffells, Ward, Harratt and Hudlin, leaving us a squad of: Goalkeepers: Nicholls Maxwell Chapman Defenders: Spencer Pearson Helik Nakayama Headley Turton Balker Jackson Lees Midfielders: Hogg Kasumu Wiles Rudoni Attackers: Thomas Burgzorg Radulović Koroma Jones Healey Add to that a new ball playing #6 or #8 (I'd use Hogg sparingly) and perhaps a new striker and new left back and we actually have a decent XI.

I'm impressed by your positivity and research.
I would point out that at present we are only out of a relegation spot on goal difference.

Going over old ground but if it wasnt for late goals conceded we'd be mid table, mind you lots of other clubs can cite conceding late goals for their position.

Pearson, Headley and Jackson all had their contracts extended for another year back in September.

I agree with the op that we'll stay up but having a thread on this smacks of complacency. Let's wait till we get a few more points on the board please! An off day at Cardiff would put the pressure back on.

if we do go down, the 3rd division is the only title we haven't won yet...so if we can keep everyone together..we'll smash it...

An off day at Cardiff would put the pressure back on. Although we have good reason to be optimistic. I can't help thinking we should have made the change before the Plymouth game. The problem then is that it would have been sacking Moore after 3 spirited league performances and the Man City defeat and it would be less appealing to new managers if there's proof that they could be sacked over something like that

I'd probably add Kasumu, Nicholls and Healey to that list also. We also wouldn't be paying 1 million for Burgzorg. Staying up is absolutely vital

I’m totally with you on survival. Looking at form, considering so many back from injury, new manager and general positivity it’s all looking good at the moment.
In fact, I’m saying top half finish - only 7 points away!!!
Looking ahead, we still need a mercurial midfielder / playmaker (PL loan maybe next season?….) and I’d like to see more quality in attack, however, not had time to really judge Radders and Healy yet…..

Almost the whole of the bottom half of the championship are in with a chance of relegation . I am far from convinced Town will stay up. Either way I expect a lot of ins and outs in the summer.

Based on their fans' goading that day a set of results on the last day of this season which saw Town safe and Birmingham drop into the final relegation spot would give me a huge amount of schadenfreude.

Going over old ground but if it wasnt for late goals conceded we'd be mid table, mind you lots of other clubs can cite conceding late goals for their position. As would clear fouls being spotted in the 96th minute (Swansea) and fouls given against for fuck all in the 93rd (Sheff Weds). And that ignores all the penalties from earlier in games.

we'll be fine. I'm sure of it. I hope this post ages well. The odds are that we're 4th favourite to go down. Sky bet have us as third favourites at 5/2 so clearly think we are going. I’m surprised by that. They’ve got stoke at joint 5th most likely - 4/1.

I like Burgzorg, but he’s not scored for a while and he can be very wasteful of a good position.
Perhaps a million can be better spent elsewhere, I trust our German team to have some great insights and connections.
