Taking nothing for granted until mathematically safe, but even though we're closer to the drop now than at any stage during the season, weirdly I'm more confident than ever of staying up.
As for complacency - as long as the players and head coach aren't complacent (& I've no reason to believe they would be!) I don't care if fans are.

At this stage last season we were down and out. Now we are outside the bottom 3 and have a quality manager and better players it seems inconceivable we will be relegated...that's what worries me the most.
A win tomorrow night will ease my fears significantly.

It's not over until it's over. Agreed, you can’t write us off for promotion just yet.

Sorry, thought you had a sense of humour. Hard to judge sarcasm on here. If it was, fair play.

Misplaced sense of optimism. It’s not over until the fat lady sings. Moore’s screwed us with his appalling record.

I personally think we’re gonna get relegated this season. we have a better manager now, but the 4 signings in January are not currently starting games. These were brought in to save our season.
Maybe a step back, clear out and a good rebuild is what’s required. Ipswich done alright out of it currently, but we don’t wanna be in league one more than one season

Look at the form table, the optimism and better results since Moore left, the shrinking injury list, the decent new manager……we will stay up no problem. Reckon we will be safe before the last couple games…..

Not feeling your optimism at mo, but a win or two can change that. Squad clearly not good enough though

So many teams are trying to avoid the last 2 dreaded relegation spots, apart from a couple of weeks we have seemed to have made 21st spot our own, with countless times the team in 22nd have cocked up trying to displace us!!, it's out of our hands once again until Sunday. The massive will start the attempt tomorrow night, will be a lot of score watching by us again over the weekend!!. As long as we have our favourite 21st position when the final whistle blows at Portman Road on the final day!!.

I am convinced that we will be safe this year, now. This thread isn't merely tempting fate. It's like being stood blindfolded with your legs tied open in front of fate saying, "I bet you £100 you can't kick me in the bollocks". It's like 2001 never happened.

Pretty much agree, but would probably give Lees another year also in a reduced role. I imagine we're waiting on what division we'll be in before deciding on Burgzorg.

It's up to the manager whether he sees him as a prospect or not, we need a fresh start, got a new owner, new manager, we have some good players but some very average players, to try and compete higher up in the league things need to change, a big summer ahead what ever league we are in.

Get rid
Chapman Ruffles Turton Yuta Wiles High Mahoney Austerfiled Rowe Rhodes Hudlin Ward
KEEP
Nicholls Maxwell Spencer Headley Jackson Pearson Helik Balker Lees Ayina (loan) Hogg Rudoni Kasumu Matos (back on loan for a season) Diarra (but I think they will let him go) Iorpenda (send on loan) Koroma Thomas Jones Burgzorg Radulovic Healey Harratt (Send on loan) Simpson (send on loan) Phillips (send on loan)
Probably need a new starting Midfielder and 2 more for squad depth. A new starting Striker. A full back who can play both sides and a 3rd choice keeper

Easy to say, but many will be on decent contracts and won't get the equivalent offered elsewhere. Not that easy to "get rid".

Lose on Sunday and my gut feeling is we will be relegated. When we were winning and playing well we barely moved an inch in the table. Now we are hanging on to 4th bottom by a thread. Last night's performance was possibly the worst we could have turned in. I can understand being turgid against a team aiming for promotion or fighting for their lives but Cardiff have absolutely nothing to play for.
They will have set up expecting us to get at them from the off and when we didn't they took advantage. The only time we have looked good all season is when we play front foot attacking football and last night was exactly the time for that.
That performance was beyond dreadful, negligent almost and it absolutely has to improve on Sunday otherwise as someone above has said, all that momentum and enthusiasm will be down the pan.

Despite all the above, we SHOULD have won last night. Two golden chances that on another day may have gone in, no more difficult, or easier than the two Ward scored at Watford. The game was crap last night, but we were not second best.

If we are relegated then I think you can guarantee all of Thomas, Helik and Rudoni would be gone. We might need to sell one or two in Summer anyway if we survive to meet FFP obligations, espeically if they want to move.

Hopefully they've all got good relegation clauses in their contracts or we're screwed. As for coming straight back up I wouldn't put money on it. We'll probably adopt the good old we need to consolidate approach

Misplaced sense of optimism. It’s not over until the fat lady sings. Moore’s screwed us with his appalling record. It was Town's management who got rid of a decent manager and brought in DM. It was Town's management who could not see what a complete waste of space DM was and kept him on far too long. Supported by a number of idiots on here who want to appear to be in the know. Town's management let DM to be involved in the January signings and we are just finding out how well that went. All we need now is Castlehill telling us it was all down to Warnock. Moore did screw us but he had lots of help allong the way.

Christ, we have a load of bed wetters on here!
Just to point out, the same time last year with 10 to go we were 6 points adrift. I would argue at this point in time now, we have a far better chance of staying up this season than we did then. The run in is a lot better, I would argue we have a better squad and we are still above the dotted line (Just!).
Also, added in to the fact there is a hell of a lot more teams involved, with a high number of fixtures down in the bottom half against each other.
Plenty of twist and turns to come, yesterday being one of them! UTT!

Plenty of twist and turns to come, yesterday being one of them! UTT! And it all starts tomorrow night again with Wendy’s and Leeds clashing... Another huge day on Saturday wanting and hoping and praying that it goes well as it certainly did on Tuesday night if not quite Wednesday evening and then it’s all in our very own hands on the Sunday afternoon - Exciting - Hell Aye... Nerve Wracking - Yep, For Sure... Soul Destroying - Not quite at that stage yet... We are where we are - And I think we might just have enough but possibly only just enough to survive, but survive we will - It’s been a reasonable start for Andre - a great win at Watford, a very creditable draw v a decent Leeds side (no matter how much it pains me to say it) and a stumble last night against a team possibly on the beech but nonetheless a team above HTAFC in the league on the beech... Strap yourselves in - Enjoy and relax to some neutral European Footy tonight as Matchday 37’s fixture clashes are just around the corner ! 😊

Get rid Chapman Ruffles Turton ………… Probably need a new starting Midfielder and 2 more for squad depth. A new starting Striker. A full back who can play both sides and a 3rd choice keeper Not that my opinion will make a difference as the club will have an idea who they will be jettisoning and who they’ll be asking to stay, but…. Chapman send on loan Ruffles get rid Turton. Keep hold Yuta Get rid Wiles Keep hold High. Get rid Mahoney Get rid Austerfield Get rid Rowe Get rid Rhodes Get rid Hudlin Get rid Ward Get rid Nicholls Keep hold Maxwell Keep hold Spencer Keep hold Headley Keep hold Jackson Unsure…loan? Pearson Keep hold Helik Keep hold Balker Keep hold Lees Get rid Ayina (loan) Get rid Hogg Keep hold Rudoni Keep hold Kasumu Keep hold Matos (back on loan for a season) Diarra likely to leave anyhow Iorpenda (send on loan) Koroma Keep hold Thomas Keep hold Jones Send on loan Burgzorg Unsure. £1m could be better spent? Radulovic Unsure Healey Unsure Harratt Loan/get rid Simpson Get rid Phillips Get rid Yes, as suggested it’s not that simple to ‘get rid’ but we have a Sporting Director whose job it is to facilitate these moves so crack on Cartwright.

Who will be manager next season out of interest if/when we go down, assuming Andre won't want to manage in League one?

We need results to go our way. But, I've seen enough of what we're trying to do, to believe that we're going to pick up some points between now and end of the season. Whether it's enough is a different story. I still remain to think it will take 53/54 points to stay up.
