Some of you lot are absolutely unreal. “.Not this game!” etc etc Can’t believe how many folk are waving the white flag! Yes Saturday was woeful (and as much of the season) but IF we win on Saturday anything can happen last game! It’s obviously a way to get more folk there, they tried the players rallying call, we moaned at that Typical Yorkshire folk not happy until Kev says “come down and I’ll give you £50!” Maybe put some of your grievances behind you until after we’re officially relegated then you can moan about how Kevin Nagle pronounces tomatoes! I wouldn’t blame Nagle for sacking it all off with some of you lot. But it's the optics isn't it. If the club genuinely see this as a winnable game to guide us towards survival then there needs to be a serious, intense, dare I say 'cauldron' atmosphere on Saturday. It needs to feel like all hands on deck and everyone in it together, fighting and scrapping (not in the stands!). Bam bam sticks, inflatables, chances to win an air fryer if you're in your seat - very American, but OK, that's the state of football now and it's passable. But for a game like this? Seriously? This isn't an end of season party for god's sake. People can do their best to defend the club on here but we all know this isn't the right timing, and this is an Americanised idea generated by soneone who doesn't get it, and won't even be there. It's ridiculous for a game like this.

As a B&W Foundation member I fully expect to get priority in the draw and if I don't win anything I'll be cancelling my membership on Monday 3 of us are Foundation members and I parked next to Dean Hoyle at Northampton once, so for us not to win an I Pad Air and a couple of other things would be a travesty of justice at the very least. Yours E.N. Titled esq..

Surely you have to do a fan appreciation day at the end of the season, it's to thank the fans for their support over the season? I don't get people moaning about the timing & the best time to thank fans is when it HAS been a shit season, yet we still go? If we were getting promoted we'd be inundated with hangers on, everyone who is there tomorrow deserves to be in with a chance of winning something really nice.
Also why are people complaining about us trying to bring kids into supporting the club? If half the people on here that are saying they won't be back next season because Kevin, the bastard, offered them a £50 note but their local pub wouldn't accept it so why couldn't he give them x5 £10 notes, we'll need more supporters to replace them. It's not like the 70s, yes there is obviously a chance of little bits of trouble breaking out but I guarantee there won't be an alsation ripping the flares off a pitch invader, while 6 horses hold back 2 baying sets of supporters.
Don't get me started on those complaining about air fryers being a prize, if you've never re-heated pizza the next day in an air fryer, you've never lived. It's so good I deliberately leave some now so I can air fry it - brings it back to like new!
Right, that's my ranting over, tomorrow is a huge game for the club, one that whatever has gone on lately, is certainly winnable. Let's get down to the stadium & show some support, we will win tomorrow.

This is a forum, and with the state we’re in it’s only to be expected. I think a good few of these negative posts are more about people laughing about this and shaking their head at the timing. It is a bit bonkers really, but most will be secretly thinking that winning a decent prize would be some sort of compensation for a shit season. Let’s hope we ‘come on down’ but also rise above the drop line on Saturday. I think most fans are just shaking out the negative stuff on here, come 3PM tomorrow, most will be back in blind faith and biting fingernails mode… Tomorrow feels like a potential Phoenix Nights episode! I wonder if those Bam Bams were related to Sammy the Snake? 🤔

I think there is a sincerity in much of what Mr Nagle does but I am not certain he has his "ducks in a row". I don't have an issue with the idea of the draw and giving fans a little back, as I say I'm sure it is sincere and not just a sweetener (it'll come back to bite him in time if it is, but I'm sure it isn't).
For all that it's not what we or our club needs now. We are highly likely to be relegated and although it would be unfair to blame Mr Nagle for this it has happened on his watch. Moreover there have been decisions this last 10 months that have not helped or have done anything to change the club's direction of travel.
What we do need, and apologies for being a stuck record (I'm hoping those connected do read this and show me they understand), a strategy, plan, road map, a fresh mindset and competent enthusiastic committed people to deliver it. Easy for me to write but apparently far more difficult to achieve.
The rot has to stop and this season has to be the last of half baked reactive actions with little long term planning. If the rot isn't stopped then things could get considerably worse. That's not doom mongering that's a fact, just look a few miles north east up the road.
I am more than prepared to give Mr Nagle a chance to turn us round. There is so much potential in the club for him to make himself one of the best owners in this country but it needs thinking through and it will need investment. NB I am not asking for a "spend, spend, spend" policy but asking for well thought through decisions that grow the club and make it better.
I don't expect to hear anything until our immediate future is determined but once it is I will be paying close attention to what is said. I then expect to see tangible actions that matches the rhetoric. I also know there is a lot to do so want to hear the long term plan and how,and who, will be tasked to deliver it.
I will keep my promise and stay quiet until I have more information on our future. To be honest there's little more to say unless the players perform a miracle. Even if they do the above still applies.
As for the lucky prize winners tomorrow I hope it gives them something to smile about (as I am sure is intended). I also hope they don't look at whatever they get in years to come and say "I won this on the day we got relegated from the Championship". For me that's the issue with the timing.
I hope for the best these next two games but my bigger hope is for a better future when the prizes the club offers are on the pitch and pride in the badge.

Right, that's my ranting over, tomorrow is a huge game for the club, one that whatever has gone on lately, is certainly winnable. Let's get down to the stadium & show some support, we will win tomorrow. I completely agree with this. The one thing bothering me more than anything is some of the fans and how it almost feels like they are trying to force out the owners with their negative shit. I'll be honest, I was absolutely livid last Saturday and left at 2-0 down, it was a disgusting performance as it has been all season. The owner has been on a steep learning curve and one that will likely cost us our place in the championship. When all is said and done though, he is paying the bills, bankrolling us and losing a hell of a lot of money. He is trying to give something back to the fans and is really trying to engage with us. On what planet is that not a good thing? Folk are aiming their frustration at the owner when it is the players that can't pass a ball 5 yards or hit a ball on target. They seem to be the ones getting an easy ride here. I saw some cretin post on Facebook that he will end up fucking off and with a fingers crossed emoji. What a plank. There are some complete and utter miserable bastards that support this club.

I'm absolutely livid about the way things have gone this season and the fact that they've flushed our championship status down the toilet due to a number of very stupid decisions. However this initiative has fk all to do with that, the only way it could affect the atmosphere is if a bit of the kids enthusiasm rubs off on the nervous grown ups and the team, and we see a better atmosphere. More likely it won't affect anything and as always it will be what happens on the pitch that sets the tone. I think they're both good initiatives and a few hundred kids will go home with a stick thing which might be the start of a beautiful relationship! I think some people are just looking to get their knickers in a twist. The football is the important thing, this initiative is completely separate. I think the majority of fans will see it for what it is.

The football is 46 games, in fact its 92 over 2 seasons of struggle and disappointment. Im not even going back over the last few seasons decisions etc. Its a prize draw at the last home game, Im not fooled, I dont for a second think anyone else is fooled into seeing or taking it as anything else. 3 0 up, 3 0 down, the raffle didnt make any difference before and it wont after.? Im not going to fall apart tomorrow if it goes badly and attack the club or players raffle or not. The raffle wont be a factor in renewing for the championship or the first division. Think we are making a deflection mountain out of a few prizes molehill?

He's American, he'd never heard of us until a year ago, he's coming in to a place and a club that's completely alien to him. He doesn't know what's gone on before, or what we've seen as fans. He's an outsider, and Huddersfield Town have very rarely ever had that, we've always been owned by either fans or locals, except for Barry Rubery. Nagle strikes me as someone who is desperately trying to fit in, saying "Up The Town" at every opportunity, arguing with Leeds fans on Twitter, afternoon tea and so on. Unless you're here all the time, or have grown up around it and experienced it properly, I don't think you can ever properly get it. Being sat in a country thousands of miles away, watching iFollow and having Zoom calls just isn't the same. Perhaps if he's serious about sorting this club out, he needs to spend a significant amount of time here to enforce that change. This is the first owner we've ever had that we don't see, he's not around, we can't see him in the directors box. Who do we direct our adulation too? Our frustrations? And everything in between. I think the fact that Nagle is only ever going to be here a few weeks at a time is going to hinder us massively. It needs someone hands-on, because we are in an absolute fucking mess right now.

While I agree with the general gist of this, doesn't that really describe ANY new fan? EG I lived abroad most of my formative years, but as soon as we came back to UK I was as rabid a supporter as my uncles who grew up in Hecky. I had to learn the chants and songs, had to learn the history, etc although I'd already had the dislike of L***s put (battered?) into place I agree that he could really do with spending more time here though, or at least have someone competent here who can explain things to him and give him better advice than the current incumbents. PH was here all the time and (allegedly ) grew up a Town fan but I wouldn't class him as a good owner. I 100% agree about Twatter spats too, but I think that goes along with modern life; I've had a couple on Fakebook when I've called out pervy misogynists saying horrible things to people I follow, much to my chagrin. Not that pervy misogynists is the same as L***s fans (in the main hahaha) but I hope you get my meaning.

Nagle is not a fan. He bought the club, it's a completely different thing. In 10 years time, when he's likely not the owner, will he still be a fan? I would suggest not.

He's getting on a bit so I'd hope his family would carry on funding us after he pops his clogs. If he's bought us to make money (even in the long run) then he's been VERY badly advised

This sums it up for me. It isn't even a criticism, it's just an observation. Nagle DOESN'T get it, how could he? Ipswich are doing OK with US owners, although their ownership is different to ours in that the US sports company own a majority share. Their fans put a lot of their success down to their CEO, who provides day to day leadership. That is the role that we need to get right very, very quickly.

So have Wrexham, but I imagine their owners are on the ground a lot more. Those two there are putting some football owners to shame.

The cynic in me would suggest that he's after the land around the ground to develop on, but who knows. Amongst all the hot air and bullshit, I'm yet to hear what the plan is. It's been a year nearly.

My Ipswich mate say that their US board members are rarely seen and rarely heard but that the club is healthily backed. Everything day to day is handled by the CEO and their rise since this arrangement (2021) is actually quite astonishing.

Yeah, that's what confuses me. I think he saw a Championship club that had recently been robbed (and shit management) in the play-off final and thought "one step to the PL, get in there quick before someone else does". I think it's now been a hard, sharp shock how much turd-polishing Carlos did to get us there and he's been very badly advised. Hopefully, despite my own internal cynicism, he's realised the PL wasn't as close as he thought and he'll HAVE to be in it for the long haul. I don't think he'll just cut his losses and ditch us though. That may be a touch of naivety on my part, but he won't have made the money he has by cutting and running at the first sign of bother. I hope.

17 lucky people all told,is it? Pot luck for the other 15K who are likely to witness another gutless performance maybe. A win would be nice in either instance. Those that win the prizes will be happy, what about the others?. Erm, it's not the 1980s. You can't all be winners just for taking part. If you're going, what have you lost? Absolutely nothing. I'm slightly more interested in seeing exactly where the winners are in the stadium. Assuming 17 prizes, lets say there should overall be 4 in each side, plus one of course. But we all know that's not how draws work, well if you've ever seen the lottery you do, or tossed a coin a few times. IF it turned out that statistically obvious, I'd think it was a fix, and YET there'd be plenty who if only one won in their stand, would think exactly the same. Conspiracy shit, it's a right bugger.

Is there really that much value in that land? I’m no expert, but I think the UK won’t have a pot to piss in for a good few yrs, whichever flavour of Govt we get in a few months time. 2008 has shafted the economy for yrs, but we’re still propping it up and using sticking plasters. I don’t think people have as much money to spend on leisure as some people think.

Wasn't the reason they didn't build houses on it in the first place something to do with contamination and they weren't allowed to develop it for accomodation? Sure I read something along those lines when the new stadium was first mooted?
