No surprise at all there. Either not good enough, too old, or will be seeking a move in another part of the world. I understand wanting to keep Hogg but I disagree with the decision.

Contract for Hogg? Presumably the club has now dropped down to his level. I've ummed and ahhed about whether we should give him a contract. Age has caught up with him and there's no way he can play 90 minutes for 50+ games. Coming off the bench for the last 20 min to see a game out makes sense though. And whilst we're trying to instill a bit more professionalism into the club, Hoggy epitomises that.

remember when rowe played well, everyone wanted him in team, but as you said he looked so out of his depth. but on a side note i love cockwomble as an insult Cockwomble and Numbnut are my 2 favourite I actually hadn't realised that Rowe will be 24 in September. Probably best he's moved on Second worst player to ever play in the Premier League

The club has missed a trick... football fans are sentimentalists.
Could you imagine the crowd in the JS when Jordan Rhodes scores his 100th goal for Huddersfield Town against Peterborough? What a great thing to happen for the club, the fans and Jordan Rhodes.. a fillip for Huddersfield Town. This is where the incomers who run our club are slightly awry with the fans.
BTW... I've never been his greatest fan, but we could have given the fifth highest goalscorer for our club another 12 month contract... surely!

All those suggesting another year for Rhodes: what makes you think he’d want to stay? If I’d been bombed out to Blackpool like he was last year, then I sure as fuck wouldn’t be signing another contract here again.

Of those still here I expect the following may be ones we want to ship on: Scott High Kyle Hudlin Tyreece Simpson Danny Ward Kieran Phillips And I expect people to come sniffing around: Lee Nicholls Michal Helik Jack Rudoni Sorba Thomas I'd agree with that but we'll be lucky to shift Danny Ward. I think he'll try and see out his contract. Just offer him a bag of balls and a three wood and ship him off to a clube near a golf course and he will be off !

Only surprise there for me is the young keeper Bellagambi, thought he might stay as 3rd choice or be loaned out. I’m guessing (if rumours of Nichols going are true), Maxwel new number 1 with Chapman stepping up to number 2. Potentially then get in an older experienced keeper to be 3rd choice or even not bother and just use emergency loan if needed What happened to Bipolarokovic (or whatever he was called) - the Aussie keeper ?

He may have, and I'm sure he wants to get as much as he can financially from his next contract, but surely we should have asked the question. I don't think we did.

Shows just how bloated we were. Potentially 24 out the door and we still have 28 left in the squad and I could very easily see us trying to shift another 12 or so of those remaining. cartwright might have meant it when he said 16 coming in

OK we are have of different vies on players.IMO I would have given Rhodes another year ( as a advert for the game totally professional) I accept only as a sub but could be just what we need from time to time I would have and will be delighted if anyone comes in for Ward who has stolen wages long enough and is ,if I am to believe what I have heard? Is the rudest and most arrogant of people. Don’t believe what you’ve heard about Ward. He’s a pretty down to earth guy and family man. Anyone telling you he’s rude and arrogant either has something against him or is just lying. Or they just met him on a bad day, which we all have. Now if they were telling you he’s injury prone footballer who likes a pint or 2. Then yes believe that 😉

Hogg played for Dyche. Dyche loved Hogg
Duff played for Dyche. Dyche loved Duff
Duff references Dyche
Duff won promotions at 36 & 38.
Right deal Hogg stays simple

No surprises in that list.
Hogg kept for his leadership skills I guess.
The midfield looks really weak though ,Plenty of work to do in there.
Certainly going to be an interesting transfer window.

Hogg the leader? Sent off when in the ascendancy against Leeds? Captain when there’s players taking the piss? Time to let him get closer to Middlesbrough.

35 year old Hogg was still one of our better players last season and no doubt will probably still win the bleep test in preseason, and people don't think he can hack league one?
Just picture Hoggy lifting that league one trophy then announcing his retirement. Perfect 👌🏼

People shouldn’t really have an issue with Hogg extending, he’s past his best but would be an asset in league one. Also just scrolling through Twitter and so many people complaining about how many outgoings there are - we are about to completely rebuild, it’s gonna be a really exciting Summer for us fans. I’m sure there’ll be even more outgoings and plenty new faces. No surprises on that list for me, seems like a really positive message from the club today UTFT I suppose the question to ask there is which of those outgoing players would they want to keep?

Hogg should be coming off the bench for the last 20 minutes or so, or playing alongside a youngster to guide them through the game in the Pizza Trophy. That's about it. With no incoming or outgoing players, Hogg walks into our starting lineup. Our midfield is top priority for recruitment.

Second worst player to ever play in the Premier League Ali Dia number 1? I'd rather have Ali Dia in the side than Adama Diakhaby. And Ali Dia must be approaching 60 by now.

So some people are still clamouring for Rhodes, but don't understand Hogg.
Baffling.
Rhodes is not the answer, get over it. Hogg, makes sense if it is a Whitehead role. Only plays when needed.
Retained list is probably spot on.
