Is there a limit on squad side in league 1? 22 players. The following don't have to be included in your squad of 22 players: Goalkeepers (regardless of age) Any players under 21 years old at the start of the calendar year.

Do you know how far under the 22 limit we are currently? A quick look makes me think it is 21 which is soon to be 20 when Thomas goes. I've not included players we are definitely trying to get rid of like Hudlin, High and Austerfield

I suspect of we can't find clubs for the likes of Hudlin et al we might pay them off.

Next summer we're going to be in a much better position with many players out of contract. Will give Duff an opportunity to shape the squad much more to his liking

Looking undercooked in terms of the quality needed to gain an automatic spot at the minute. Probably more likely to reach the playoffs unless we start pulling a few top deals for this level off.

So using the template at the start of the thread, the updated squad after today is now below. Goalkeepers and Under 21's don't count towards the limit of 22 players. Squad size is 22 players now, so technically at our limit. Hudlin, High and Austerfield to move on or loan, to give us space for 3 more to come in. Bojan probably on his way out as well I'd imagine...
Goalkeepers (do not count towards squad size limit of 22)
Lee Nicholls Chris Maxwell Jacob Chapman
Full backs/Wing backs
Jaheim Headley Josh Ruffels Brodie Spencer (under 21 so does not count towards squad size limit of 22) Ollie Turton Mickel Miller Lasse Sorensen
Centre backs
Loick Ayina (under 21 so does not count towards squad size limit of 22) Radinio Balker Michal Helik Tom Lees Matty Pearson
Midfielders
Josh Austerfield Scott High Jonathan Hogg Tom Iorpenda (under 21 so does not count towards squad size limit of 22) David Kasumu Ben Wiles Herbie Kane Antony Evans
Wingers
Pat Jones (under 21 so does not count towards squad size limit of 22) Josh Koroma
Strikers
Kian Harratt Rhys Healey Kyle Hudlin Bojan Radulovic Danny Ward

That squad still needs a hell of a lot of work.

That squad still needs a hell of a lot of work. At least 5 more players I think. Cant go into the season with just 2 wingers and one of them being jones who is injured all the time and more of a sprinter. Aware duff doesn’t really play with wingers but still need options to change system within games

That squad still needs a hell of a lot of work. To look back and see how many players we have let go over the previous summer windows how have we ended up with so many players and so little quality.

In an ideal world Hudlin, Austerfield and High all leave permanently plus Harratt out on loan

I’m all for getting a couple risks in the transfer market but it seemed like every single signing we made for a good few years was a gamble. They were mostly injury prone or used to be good and had fallen away for whatever reason. This is the result now when most the gambles haven’t paid off. Aarons, Sanogo, Niasse, Knockaert, Mahoney, shall I go on?

So, based on the rules, squad numbers issued to 19 players who count to the limit of 22.

Just being a good defender doesn't mean you're a good leader.
Helik to me seems fairly quiet.
Other side note, maybe him and Nicholls have been told to focus more on their game. A lot of defensive errors by Nicholls and Helik last season.
Helik fortunately contributed more at the other end.
