Couldn't strike a ball? Blackburn at home... He's used to win most of his aerial battles, we just didn't place anyone within 40 yards of him. Shite compared to who? Not sure I'd swap him for anyone we've had since. He wasn’t renowned for his shooting though was he. Was that the only goal he scored from outside the box ? He was isolated but other teams had much better options than us at the time and we needed better for £10m squid. If you weren’t getting in behind and crossing it then Moonie wasn’t scoring - and we never did after Palace.. Despite the fact I'm afraid you're largely talking absolute rubbish (Pritchard was better in the air than Stead ffs), I'm wondering now if you're talking about a different player seen as you constantly say Moonie? |

Rhodes was though and he better than Mounie in the air and a better all round player too. Have to disagree with that. Rhodes was fab for us in his first spell, but I've only ever really seen him as a finisher. Mounie is not a complete forward either, but he's clearly a technical level or two above Rhodes. He played for us in the Premier League, scored some impressive goals, and has just helped an unfancied side with a low budget qualify for the Champions League in a European top 5 league. One thing you can’t say about Mounie is he’s technical! Like bambie on ice outside of the penalty area |

Some classy and or prolific forwards on my list not just good in the air. Judging levels over decades and countries is a lot more subjective than some think. Close season Forum would be very boring if everyone thought the same.
