I'm sure if we lose today hertha will be compared to bayern Munich Seriously, why bother? What good does constant digs at the clubs & fans do you? If Hertha played their full team vs us they ought to beat us comfortably, however, I believe they have 2 games today, the other vs Cardiff so who knows what strength of team we'll end up playing. That being said, the "name" of the opposition is not really relevant, you can see how good a team is (providing you have a football brain) when they play you & Aris were a very good side who would romp League 1 & probably be challenging in the Championship.

My aim for the season is to make the play offs at least but after many seasons of abject failure, with the odd positive blip, I can actually see shoots of hope for our club. It's not the 1970s any more, the size of Cyprus is irrelevant, Aris were champions of their country & competed well in Europe last season. They had a winger playing who has just won the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal & had several clearly good quality players in a squad comprised of 17 different nations. They were 2 weeks in advance of us in their pre-season & obviously had the quality to walk League 1. The last few seasons, bar the one outlander, have been the reason we are in League 1 now, we've scraped by before but couldn't make it last year. However, KN has put his money where his mouth is, he's got a manager & 4 new players who all know & have done well in this league before, with the certainty that more will be coming. He's made huge changes to the ground & given the players no excuse to not perform with the facilities we now have. Noone would be able to tell you what style we were supposed to be playing the last couple of years apart from pass it around needlessly before hoofing to a striker that could not win a header. This pre-season, it is clear we have a defined style, 2 attacking wing backs, no endlessly passing it about at the back, balls being played down the sides or through the middle & we now have men asking for the ball & making themselves available. For me, there is hope, I want us to be competitive & I think we will be. Depending on the side Hertha put out, we may well lose but I want to see us compete & we should definitely be beaten on Sunday. The difference is this is pre-season, you learn more from your team in adversity pre-season than whacking Devon pub teams. We will not be facing any league opposition this season that are as good as the 3 teams we are playing in Austria.

However, I can only speak for myself, they were terrible decisions, IMO. Some of us said so at the time, but were shouted down and told "Yeah, but Warnock". There was certainly no outrage on any social media when those re-signings were announced. Those that were declaring them "great signings" are all very quiet now.

I must have missed that fan-wide opinion poll. Otherwise, this is just subjective conjecture.
