Another game thats as close to playing in anger as we can get. Come from behind and got better as the game went on. Its pretty clear parts of these games are specifically aimed at particular areas of the team so its often strange to watch. Hope Duff and co are getting what they want both good and bad, if so its all very worthwhile. Have not had a team playing together in a system and tactics that suited them and they were happy to be part of for a while.👍 UTT..

Just switched the YouTube live stream on for a few minutes and heard Sticks' very distinctive whistle after Lecce shot wide! Used to sit a few rows in front of him in the kilner bank - been a while since I heard it He's had a flag done up which was hanging on the side of the pitch saying "Beware of the whistle" Great Town fan and really nice man.

That was so much better all round
Town look so much fitter now and have a clear way of playing.
Ruffles is not good enough and should be no where near our starting 11 though
I actually think wardy looks as fit as I’ve seen him for awhile, he just needs a goal.
Koroma another who looks like he’s got the bit between his teeth.
Hogg meh
Overall I think we are going exactly where we should be leading into the season.
Sheff United will be the test we need at home to see exactly where we are at

Like Southgate the subs made the difference, is this Duffs starting team for L1?.....Guess we will find out on Friday, bring on the Blades.

Koroma looks good stretches teams makes runs Kane looks a player with a good eye Still think we need a bit more pace in defence and another striker that makes runs in behind and a target man to mix things But been a good pre season so far starting to look like a good organised, coached team.

I am watching it and it is a training exercise. Agree it isn’t a pretty watch but anyone expecting that will be sadly disappointed. I’m watching it for my interest in the team, shape, new guys etc. It really is an exercise in playing without the ball today. Clean slate for all players - the bashing of Ward today is unnecessary - him and Healey done the same today as we don’t have the ball, not a game so far to judge the strikers so the Ward bashing today is pre-meditated. The goal conceded was poor but from a defender pov that happens sometimes when in close quarters to ball. I agree that Maxwell should save it at near post - if Nicholls leaves I would like to see another keeper to strengthen that area. Lecce are a Serie A team and we are League one so not a game to get excited about if we look a lesser team than them. Certainly not pre-meditated on my part, his hold up play was really poor, he didn't win a header & barely contributed. In contrast, with just as little ball, Healey held it up better & looked more threatening.

Restricted a supposed decent side there to very little after initial 15/20 Looked like played some half decent stuff too from 55-85 ish. Kane and evens decent on ball again and miller will create from wide too can beat a man and once strikers get an idea of areas he’ll put it in he could be a really source of creation. Sorensen other side too. They need to drop on a combination that works in the back 3 and I’m still not set on either Hogg or Kasumu but seems like be going into it with one of them. Hoping Nicholls will be here, think he will and Helik. If can get these strikers done it’s looking promising.

Just like to see all lads given a fresh start from the fans when the season starts.

Compare that tour in pre season to the previous one we had - in a higher league - I would say it’s been 100% positive. Players look to be following a clear idea. Yes some have played better than others but doesn’t that always happen.
Been impressed with all four signings.
We look a much better coached outfit than we have for ages.
UTT.

An impressive win to round off the training camp. I have to say it's an unexpected result - given the standard of opposition I was expecting a gallant defeat. Seeing they've actually played their first team, I'm doubly impressed and hope we take confidence from it. All in all, I think this week has gone about as well as could be hoped with good results to build on against good teams, and things learned from those games, particularly Limassol.
Now for a few more signings to add to the mix, and one last friendly.

New striker and some pace at the back and I think we’re good to go for a top 10 finish at least.

I would say judging from minutes on this trip Jackson, Harratt and possibly Jones to add to the list of players likely to leave either on loan or permanently

I've been pretty happy with pre-season. Unusually for me, I've watched either all of the first-team friendlies, or all but one - might have missed the Emley game, I genuinely can't remember - and I've been encouraged. Still a bit mystified as to how few minutes Kane and Evans have played together - would assume they'd be first choice? - but we look in pretty good shape. Already looks very different to last season - 2-3 more signings, and I'm confident of play-offs at worst.
(Yes, I am a happy-clapper - bite me)
