Duff looks to have sent them out playing differently seconds half.
We were sat much deeper first half, with little space between our defence and midfield.
Second half we have been much further up the pitch, meaning it's easier for them to pass through us.
Assume it's a case of trying different things ahead of the start of the season.

Why does it feel like our players come out of every 50 50 injured. Terrified we're about to lose someone for 3 months every time they go in for a tackle

Sorenson has had a woeful 15 minutes. Him and Miller were far from impressive today. Hopefully it is just a case of playing against higher quality wingers and fullbacks.

Trying to pass it out through Spencer really isn't working Scary, yet we persisted with it!

I've yet to really be impressed with Lasse, but I'm sure he'll step up.
Evans best showing so far. Outrageous bit of skill in the 1st half.
We need better than Wardy I'm afraid.
Spencer played out from the back beautifully first half, but second half was making daft mistakes.
Again we put ourselves under pressure and as soon as Healey went off, there was no out ball for Nicholls.

We did well. Don't forget they have just come down from the prom. The difference now is a couple of signing to elevate us to challenge for the top 2 spots.
Wiles......excellent pre season.

Played against a team that will be in and around the Championship play-offs. Lots to like in there for me, mainly the huge difference in ball playing ability in midfield.
Plenty to work on, but very normal at this stage. A striker and CB away from a very exciting L1 team.

You'd expect the opponents keeper to touch the ball now and then in a home friendly

Considering SU will be in the top 6 of the Championship this season, possibly top 2, and we held them is pretty good. A lot of the starters were flagging last 30 minutes but they stuck in there. First half the midfield looked really good, passing it and moving quickly. Ben Wiles goal was excellent and his volley second half was a cracker. For those moaning about Koroma's chance second half that was an absolutely top drawer tackle, there will not be many, if any, League 1 defenders doing that.
It's a shame we have lost Balker, you could see the difference it made when Spencer brought it forward from the back but I don't think any of the other 3 centre backs will. We need a strong, preferably tall, striker. The little chip into the box by Sorenson second half, that Ward should have been busting a gut to get to, was perfect for a strong target man. Lets hope we land a good one this window.
Overall that has been a very good pre-season.

Duff will not have been happy at how easily we kept giving the ball away. Nicholls passes to one of the 3 defenders, they pass it to the wing back who has no options so either loses it or passes it back to Nicholls to smash it long to nobody.
It's exactly the same thing we kept doing last season. Hopefully as the season goes on Duff will get them playing some better patterns

Good workout. A game with some needle in it. Great goal, and created quite a few chances. Plenty to work on off the ball, though - that midfield three will be great when we have the lion’s share of possession, but in tougher games we will need Kasumu or Hogg to break it up. We improved markedly in the second half when Kasumu came on.
I also thought we should have had a penalty when Koroma was brought down. Officials starting as they mean to go on: utterly useless.

Decent first half against strong opposition.
Players tired, not surprising after clearly chasing the ball for ages.
Need a couple of forwards and a right wing back. We have no cover there at all
Interesting absentees unless somebody knows something I don’t ?
Turton,ruffles, Hogg, jones…,,
More exits i predict and some incomings before the end of the window.

He is NOT a natural finisher - we all know his one trick - cut in and shoot -but we need so much more from our strikers. One presumes decent strikers will be arriving, but if not the thought of yet another bloody season watching Danny Ward and Koroma playing up front is depressing.

Do we know who played for the B team? Can't seem to find a link.
As much as the second half was worrying (fitness contributing to it) the first half we played some beautiful football.
Wiles, Kane and Evans were excellent.

Massive improvement over last season, for me, sums up the entire pre-season. The difference in midfield is huge & we are a very well organised team now, with lads playing for each other. Evans & Kane are very good additions & Wiles is like a brand new signing too.
Definitely need another striker, someone who can take the pressure off when we do play the occasional long ball but we will not play any team as good as the last 4 opponents.
Chalk & cheese to last season, with a couple more additions to come, we will have to be challenging near the top.
An excellent pre-season, Duff & his staff have made a huge difference.

Hopefully as the season goes on Duff will get them playing some better patterns Nicholls got closed down at one point and played it off the striker for a goal kick. He then took a short 5 yard goal kick to helik. It was like an alien spat it out of its mouth, helik had to control it knee height at 30 mph inside his own 6 yard box.
