I think htfcokay should be let back in to enthuse our resident Stokie over Narcis. He'll be surprised if he lasts until Xmas, possibly not even until Halloween 🤣.

Life's been OK so far for us in League One, disregarding the cup matches, maybe Stoke want some of it.

Apart from the fact no one had ever heard of the guy here’s hoping he’s the guy to get us out of this division (the right way)
Many have tried without success 😊

Hope Narcis does well. A good bloke. If Carlos and Narcis are the top two in May, it'll be a bitter pill for Town fans. Unless we're up there in Lg1 too.

Dean Whitehead has also joined Stoke as part of the new coaching staff.

As if he does there will be a lot of egg on faces, the way you guys have described him , is like the next comming of Pep!

But from a few games standing in, it wasn't great. We fluked a win against Cardiff which people on here believed we were like Brazil. It wasn't the case at all. We were very bad at Wigan under him too. One of the worst performances of the season. But. Given Stoke will be his team and he has scope to bring his own players in. I think k it's very left field, but could be a very shrewd appointment. The staff in whitehead - as you'll already eb familiar with - and Clemence are good decision, especially Clemence. He created a winning and high morale culture in what he called 'the goalkeeper club'. Good luck chadders!

Really odd appointment.
As others have said, he's a great coach (even when we were shite, we were at least pretty good at set pieces - i.e. the bit he was responsible for), but as Head Coach? I'd be unimpressed at our level, let alone Stoke's.
I hope he proves me wrong because I like the guy, but I think this is a bizarre appointment.

Clements and Whitehead join him too. A strange one as I believe one of his caretaker games was an absolute shitshow against Stoke? Can only wish him the best for the time we're not in the same division. A man of integrity and good conscience, who stuck around despite being offered to jump ship with Corberan, and stayed til the end of the season to see the job through. But nonetheless a pretty surprising appointment, good luck to him. If they get a few early results I can see him being very popular as he's a very bright and affable guy. Equally can see him managing a disastrous 12 games or so.

Stoke fans will give him a fair chance Usually about four games before we’re calling for his head 😊

Think I’ve said before he made some very strange decisions in his short spell as caretaker. One putting Mahoney in for a key game. I never understood that at all.
I would be worried if I was a stoke fan. Carlos he is not.

So if you believe he can replicate those same insider secrets for your club, why wouldn't you? Of course, it might be a Brian Clough/Peter Taylor; Alex Ferguson/Brian Kidd situation (which I reckon is more likely).

It might take 18 months. He was the backroom coach to coreaban here and was very well thought of. Why we let him go to norwich i cant remember.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. How many of us had heard of Carlos before we appointed him? Or Wagner for that matter, who'd previously only been in charge of Dortmund's B-team?

Exactly this. And Narcis has been Asst coach to both Carlos and Wagner.

Totally agree. I recall him standing on the touchline at every corner and free kick we got when Carlos was here. Looking to see that we had executed his plan. It’s his first job, a bold move by Stoke, but you have to think that there are people who understand the game more than we do that make these decisions. Often, the appointment of a “name” manager goes very wrong.

No idea what he’s done to deserve a Championship job. I’d of been fuming had we appointed him even in Division 3.
Are Stoke short of money nowadays? He won’t demand a large wage and can’t imagine him kicking off at lack of transfer funds.
Didn’t he manage Town for the game at Stoke and we were pathetic?

Chadders, just to echo what most people have said, hope he works out, seems a great bloke & he was very loyal to us & the set pieces under him were great. Hope he gets you as a fanbase happy again.
