No idea what he’s done to deserve a Championship job. I’d of been fuming had we appointed him even in Division 3. Are Stoke short of money nowadays? He won’t demand a large wage and can’t imagine him kicking off at lack of transfer funds. Didn’t he manage Town for the game at Stoke and we were pathetic? Stoke aren't short of money as such, but probably sailing quite close to the wind when it comes to FFP. You can ask the "what has he done to earn it?" question about any first-time manager. He's got more coaching experience at Championship level than Jackson had when we appointed him. Yes it's a gamble, but Stoke are owned by Bet365, so what do you expect? |

Hope it works out for him but just doesn't seem the right fit. It feels a bit of a toxic dressing room that won't give him the respect needed. I would have said he'd have been better off dropping to a well run club in League One, like a Lincoln or Barnsley and earning his stripes in a positive atmosphere.

In the Narcis possible way, I'm not sure I rate him. I never quite saw what others did in his caretaker stints to suggest he's managerial material. But everyone has to start somewhere and a nicer bloke you couldn't hope to meet. Good luck NP and good luck Stoke.

Utter graveyard for managers and players is Stoke! They've had quality players and quality coaches on paper for years and yet never trouble the play offs. I've no idea how they get around FFP. Narcis seems a strange choice but they've exhausted every other angle I guess! I wish him the best as he seems like a top bloke and a good coach.

Saw the first half, switched off rather than watch the half time rubbish that Sky do now. Switched back on later and saw it was 1-3. I can't say I'm surprised, it's a bizarre appointment. |

I think it is a very hard place, in a tough division, with high expectation. Not a good place to start your managerial life. Only the first game though, see how he settles.

Anyone who looked at Mahoney and thought he was worth a start has to have questionable abilities to make the right choices moving forward.
Seems a nice bloke but can’t honestly see him being a success.
Corberan was an arsehole but knew how to set his teams up.
I like Stoke as a club but I think this one will be a short term job as he will only take them one way.

Shocking appointment, he should have been giving it a go well down the leagues he was very poor as a caretaker here. Some coaches are just best as a number 2.

Another win… Pelach finding his feet. Anything is possible in the championship. We gave our hard earned status away without a fight under some no mark kraut. Little point carrying on outside of the chamionship for me.

Surprised a lot of the wider footballing world with that appointment. Yes, it didn't work out - but the rot was well set in by then. Think that description better fits Siewart, but that was a lifetime ago. |
